For this task I am going to assess my own communication skills and evaluate the factors that influenced how effective both my one-to-one and group interactions were. I am going to discuss my use of verbal, non-verbal, pace, tone, body language and language used. For one-to-one interaction I participated in a game called guess who. Guess who is a game where you pick a famous person’s name and the other person playing with you needs to try and guess who it is by, only being able to ask questions that have answers of yes or no. In this activity I used a few skills that were very useful. Good eye contact - this was an important skill because it showed that I was listening to my partner I also used good body language whilst I was doing this activity, …show more content…
I used this skill effectively as I moved every time the name of a fruit was said that I was given. Another skill that I used was tone. I used this when I was in the middle on the circle that was formed by the members shouting out a fruit name, this was effective because I needed to use a good tone to make sure that the rest of the people was able to hear what fruit name I shouted out. These skills were the ones that I have already used before but I tried to use new skills especially for this game to make it more effective. I used pace as an effective skill in this activity, this skill worked effectively because I had to get to another chair as fast as I could. I also tried using good body language in this game to make it more effective because I needed to show to everyone else that I was willing to take part in the …show more content…
I also used good tone of voice this was effective in the activity because people were able to hear me clearly when I had to shout out a number this skill was important to be able to do this activity successfully. My weakness were that I used too much eye contact, I was trying to give away to when someone was going to say a number. To make it better for next time I do this activity is to have more confidence in myself and not worry about making a mistake in the activity – saying the same number at the same time as someone else, which will meant doing the activity

Communication is a key tool to success in all relationships. Clear communication allows for efficiency and understanding among all parties or persons involved. All too often we blame miscommunications on others, but fail to acknowledge our own shortcomings. In order to better perfect our communication, each of us needs to conduct a self-evaluation. This evaluation should consist of formulating an opinion of ourselves individually as a communicator, determining how others view our communication, and figuring out how we can improve ourselves by setting attainable goals. By reflecting upon each of those three aspects we can strengthen skills and relationships and further discover ourselves along the way.
Recently, regardless of how good technologies are nowadays, how modern the universe can be using the creativeness and intelligence of human’s mind, we must always not forget to communicate with one another every day. Communication is define as the act of transferring information from one place to another. It may be in a form of vocally, written, visually or non-verbally (skillsyouneed.com, 2017). As for me, the ability to communicate effectively is the most importance of all life skills. This is what I have been struggling in my daily routine life as an international student here in Dublin, Ireland. Back in Malaysia, my first language is Malay, but when I came here for the first time, I found it quite difficult as English is not
During the course of this semester; the variety of writing styles and essays assigned to me in my communication skills class encouraged the development of my writing skills, as well as provided me with more self-assurance in my abilities. My writing, research, and presentation abilities enhanced through practice, determination, and the understanding I gained during this course. With every single writing assignment, I learned new innovative approaches and skills, which enhanced my abilities to improve my thoughts logically, enabling me to write more clearly, and to organize my papers more effectively. At the beginning of this semester; despite the fact that I already knew the terminology MAP: message, audience, purpose; I never really understood the significance of MAP. For this reason, my writing lacked clarity, organization, and my writings appeared less focused on the topics. As a result my research papers and essays did not flow as smoothly from one passage to the next. Furthermore, I was unaccustomed with the precise procedures used when writing an essay. For instance, my previous classes before college, although requiring a reference page, did not require me to include proper citations in my writings. After evaluating the quality of my writing toward the end of the semester, I recognized vast improvements in several areas of my writing. By concentrating on the beginning stages of my writings, I could distinguish ahead of time my audience and my message. As a result, my essays are clear, and I remain on topic. In addition to that using transition phrases efficiently also helps my writing to flow smoothly. The proper use of transitions makes my writings easy to follow from one topic to the next. I also learned that pre-writing...
...orcement from their peers, they can then break up into small groups and practice the skills with each other. The interactive method should follow up the direct and indirect methods, because some students may need more time to practice the given skill before jumping into a mini game. In sequence these different styles are proven to be effective and keep students engaged and active throughout the full length of a physical education class.
There was four main points i had to follow. I had to be looking at the audience and not to be giggling or laughing. My second point is to know what im talking about and have note cards or it can be memorized. I also
Physical movement is extremely important in the classroom. I am a tactile learner so through movement I am able to learn better. For example, when given directions to a new place, the movement of the car and myself enables me to remember how to get to that destination again at a later time. “An active body enhances an active mind. Learners who are activ...
Lots of people thinks that they know themselves very well; they have a right way of communication, they know how to listen and respond to others, even emotional intelligence. Is this what you thought? I did. However after I have done my observe behavior interview to my friends, I believe that self-reflection is important to everyone to understand and improve our own communication styles.
