I am in American classrooms, I notice that teachers are constantly having conversation with students, and asking open ending questions, in order to motivate students to think, and elaborate the main arguments. Consequently, the students would put most of their attention on building and developing the extended questions. In my English class, for instance, the teacher always gives us several open ending questions on analyzing personification of the characters in the novel; student would have a conversation that leads to deeper meaning and purposes of the author. In contrast, China’s educators hold different attitude and opinions, due to the social environment, cultural influences. Unlike American teachers, Chinese teachers mostly focus on teaching and consolidating students the basic knowledge,with regard to assure students to understand the details of the information. When I was in China, in the math class, teacher have us to memorize all the formulas learned, which helps us to better comprehend the accurate concepts. Thus, two education systems have disparate concern of the students’ focus, and they both have their particular benefit. I, as a student who have gone through two educational systems, got significant benefits from their different educational impacts on students. In American school, due to teachers’ purposes of the developing students’ all abilities, the school starts to have positive impact on students’ future planing and integrated development. For example, I have abundant of free time after school finished, for this reason, I have time and choice to learn what interests me, such as economic pattern, which helps me to plan early for the future and enriches my student life. At the same time, I had experienced China’s education, which help me to think precisely and to view from all angles. Because Chinese teachers always make students a to learn and view questions from all perspective, by teaching students to solve tricky questions using tricky and basic methods. Chinese education, in my opinion, may be more efficient to help students to solving the problems prudentially than other educational systems. Accordingly, all educational structures have advanced parts and inefficient learning methods; I should learn the both harmful sides and beneficial sides of each structures, then evaluate the best learning methods fitting me. The math teacher appreciated my help, and all American classmates clapped for me, but I did not deserve it. ( Mrs. Cross, I just mean to be unreasonable here)
