FOR PREVENTING INADEQUATE PEOPLE TO OBTAIN A POLITCAL OFFICE AND LETTING A NATION’S CITIZENS GET TO KNOW THEIR LEADERS. A considerable problem in the modern world is allowing bad and unqualified people to obtain a political office. Far too often, a nation elects a leader and does not really know the content of their character. If a nation knew an ample amount of a political candidate’s personal life, one could weed out the inadequate candidates and focus on the good ones. Many solutions have been offered to solve this problem, but most have been ineffective (as one can see by the current state of the United States). Each candidate would receive their own reality show and camera crew, and go about their daily life; for example, Marco Rubio’s show would be “Getting Real With Rubio.” There are many advantages to invading the privacy of our political candidates, a big one would be learning about our candidate’s daily life and personality. For example, if a camera is on the political candidate 24/7 for the entire election, one will see the good, the bad, and the ugly of their candidate of choice, and maybe chooses to think twice before voting. Another advantage of reality television is getting the people of your nation involved in the election. Far too often, people are ignorant of their candidate, causing them to make poor decisions. If the candidate’s life and drama were televised, and their TV show had a catchy theme song, people would actually want to watch the election and put their input in. Another plus to the candidate’s life being televised, is there would be hardly any skeletons in the closet. Viewers of the show would know virtually everything about their candidate; including, but not limited to: tax returns and e-mails. In conclusion, reality television would be a great way to get to know a future president or prime minister’s character and personality; and would be a great tool when deciding whom to vote
