If one lets someone get away with being mean to someone that does not show bravery or courage at all. One has to stand up for oneself and others to show people one really cares. Danny really likes Mai Thi and stands up for her all of the time. He wants to have a good friendship and relationship with her. He even went on a date with her on Valentine's Day. But in March he did something huge. There were a few eighth graders and one was making fun of Mai Thi so Danny Humfer dumped his lunch tray on him and punched him in the nose. “Until one day, when outside the yellow forsythia branches were weaving themselves together, and the daffodils were playing their trumpets, and the lilacs were starting to bud and getting all giddy, we were going through the lunch line and Mrs. Bigio handed Mai Thi her Tuna Casserole Surprise, and one of the penitentiary-bound eighth graders said loudly to Mrs. Bigio, “Don't you have any Rat Surprise for her?”and then turned to Mai Thi and said, “Why don't you go back home and find some?” and then Mai Thi started to cry, just stood there crying, and Danny took his entire tray- which was filled with Tuna Casserole Surprise and two glasses of chocolate milk and red jello with peaches- and dumped it over the penitentiary-bound eighth grade’s stupid head, and then, before the eighth grader could open his stupid eyes to see had done it, Danny punched him as hard as he could and
Junot Diaz's short story “Fiesta, 1980” gives an insight into the everyday life of a lower class family, a family with a troubled young boy, Yunior and a strong, abusive father, Papi. The conflict, man vs. man is one of the central themes of this story. This theme is portrayed through the conflicts between Papi and his son. Papi asserts his dominance in what can be considered unfashionable ways. Unconsciously, every action Papi makes yields negative reactions for his family. Yunior simply yearns for a tighter bond with his father, but knows-just like many other members of his family-Papi’s outlandish ways hurts him. As the story unfolds it becomes obvious that the conflicts between Papi and himself-along with conflicts between Yunior and himself-affect not only them as individuals, but their family as a whole.

I’m glad we have Maurice, my mother’s younger brother here today. Ella, her older sister, unfortunately couldn’t make it, but I know the news of my mothers death hit her hard. And I know that she prayed with all her will, for my mother.
Eulogy for Son The Death of a Child. Not many people realize that the death of a child is NOT in accordance with God’s NORMAL scheme of things. It is not a natural. God did not mean for a child to go first. A child buries the parent.

Did you know that over 3.2 million kids are victims of bullying each year? In the excerpt from Margaret Cho’s autobiography titled Camp Cruel, a young girl named Moran tells her experience with being bullied. She describes in detail what children did and said to her and how she dealt with it. Moran goes on a church summer retreat with kids that she’s known all her life. She speaks about how she was picked on by everyone she came in contact with at the retreat. Most of the kids at the retreat would call Moran, “Moron” because they said that this name was a better fit for her. Their constant rudeness really discouraged Moran. She was just a young Korean girl wanting to fit in and make friends. However, she couldn’t even do that because she was constantly getting bullied by everyone. As the story continues, Moran comes to her senses and realizes that what other people think about her does not matter. What matters most is what you think about yourself. You must push those negative people away in order to survive.
Bob came home from school one day. When Bob walked inside, his mom Rachel asked him how his day was and he said that it was the best day yet. So they talked for awhile and his mom asked him what he feels is better, moving to a place where his grandma lives and to a new school, or staying here where he gets bullied and has a lakefront property. Rachel said he can think about it for only a few days. So a couple of days passed and Bob finally had made his decision, he walked up to his mom and said “I want to move to Washington”. Rachel said okay I will tell your father, Stewart and see what he thinks and then I will tell you what the plan is. Rachel said to Bob start packing so we don’t have to stay any longer than five days. Bob said he was done
Today, the most difficult day in my family’s life, we gather to say farewell to our son, brother, fiancé and friend. To those of you here and elsewhere who know Dylan you already are aware of the type of person he was and these words you will hear are already in your memory. To those who were not as fortunate, these words will give you a sense of the type of man he was and as an ideal for which we should strive. My son has been often described as a gentle soul. He was pure of heart and had great sensitivity for the world around him. He had a way with people that made them feel comfortable around him and infected others to gravitate toward him. Dylan exuded kindness and pulled generosity and altruism out from everyone he touched. He was everyone's best friend.
My mother was a complex, multi-faceted person. Many of you here today knew my mother personally, and many of you knew my mother indirectly through one of her family members. You may have known her as a coworker, a friend, or a support person. Of course, all of my mother’s family here today each knew a part of her, a “facet” of her--as a mother, a sister, an aunt, a grandmother, a cousin.
Today we celebrate the life of my dear friend, Jerome. Jerome, you were my teacher, my mentor and my dear friend. You provided me your counsel and wisdom. You shared your joyous smile and laugh. You shared your zest for life and the passion for all those things that were important to you.
Before I begin I would like to thank all of you here on behalf of my mother, my brother and myself, for your efforts large and small to be here today, to help us mark my fathers passing.
When I was a young boy, there were three words that my mother said to me each morning, five days a week, nine months a year for 12 years....RISE AND SHINE, she would say. It meant we were to get up for another day of school.
Hello Mr. Gill, honestly now, she knows that’s so wicked, immoral, dishonest, and I’m sorry to hear this has happened to you. Well, getting to know a person requires much more than the time it requires some praying about that person first before making a commitment. I’m sorry to that has happened to you. Because no one deserves to be treated so awful and wrong, but you know that the seeds you sow will come back to you. I know I kept reading that you were no longer single and were off the dating market. Mr. Gill, I have never met you in person, but I was so hurt. You have a million ladies who were crying :) Sometimes I ask myself how is it possible for me to fall in love with your voice. I’ve had a very bad day at work; students wanted to
