A few weeks ago, we lost a very special someone. She is not only special in my life, but for almost everyone in this room. She may be a close relative for some of you, maybe her niece or nephew, granny for the little ones, or even a friend. Sharmaine happens to be my dear mother. To everyone here, I’d like to thank you for the support that you have given our family throughout this hardship. In exchange, I would like to share with you how great of a friend, a mother and a husband my mom used to be. The first memory I remember about my mom was her continuous and repetitive story about her childhood. It starts of by telling me how she met her childhood best friend, Aunt Jess, who I consider as my second mother. They met during their freshman …show more content…
As a kid, it became a routine at night. She tells me the story while showing me some of their pictures when they were young. She would continue until I fall asleep. The way she talks about dad with a smile on her face, I know that she was truly and deeply in love with dad. Together, they raised a family of 6; my 3 older brothers and I was an addition to their story. I became a mama’s girl because I am the only daughter. I loved being pampered and dressed up by her. I remember how I spend my playtime with her in the kitchen, trying to help prepare meals for all of us although I only create a mess. I mean, what a does a 6 year old know about cooking? I remember I always wait for her home made cupcakes, cookies, especially ice creams. As I grow, I know she had been dreaming for me to become a doctor, although I wanted to be something else. However, she still supported me to what I wanted to be, to be a dentist. She was never angered by my decisions and have always been proud of me. This is what I would never forget about my mom: her long-lasting patience, kindness, and the love what we always felt. She has guided us to achieve the best future possible. She raised a businessman, 2 engineers, and a
On behalf of my entire family, I want to thank all of you for your compassion and for being present here today. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Mauri-Lynne, and I'm Lionel's daughter. Dad was devoted to every one of you. We all hope that you'll share your memories of him with us, if not today then in the weeks and months to come.
I'd like to thank you all for the outpouring of support and condolences on the loss of my beautiful son Adam. My entire family appreciates it. This is my eulogy to Adam:
I, of course, knew my mother as a mother. As I have reached adulthood and become a mother myself, I have also known her as a friend. My mom shared much of herself with me, and I saw sides of my mother as she struggled with her cancer that I had never seen before, especially her strong belief in positive thinking and the importance of quality of life. I was privileged to know so many facets of my mother, but certainly I did not know all. There were parts of her life that I didn’t see, relationships that I didn’t know about. Last night, at the wake, so many stories were told to me about my mom’s strength, courage, humor, kindness, her quietness, her loyalty as a friend. It was so special to hear of these things that my mom said and did, to know some of these other parts of her life. I hope that her friends and family will continue to share these stories with me and with each other so we can continue to know and remember my mom.
Before I begin I would like to thank all of you here on behalf of my mother, my brother and myself, for your efforts large and small to be here today, to help us mark my fathers passing.
I hope you are doing well. I am extremely family oriented, and many people my age like to hang out with friends and go out. However, I have always enjoyed spending time with my family in my free time. Recently within the last five months, I have acquired a deep desire and interest to get married. At this point in my life, I feel that I am really ready to get married.
Today, eighteen months ago my family came to this small box of a room and went into hiding. I shouldn’t complain though, we are safe, I have my family, and the ‘box’ we live in is actually quite cozy. Although these last few months have been very long, mother and father tell us everyday that we will be able to come out and be able to breath the fresh air for the first time in a year. We all know that they are just saying that to keep our spirits up. And even though it is tough living in a confined space for eighteen months I sure have grown closer to my wonderful family.
“Good morning buddy!” That's the first thing I hear everyday and it makes me know that the day will be a good day also that he is there to help me through it plus he always will be. My dad means everything to me and he is one of the only people that I know I can trust. He is the person that has always been there for me and has always fought for me. My mom is amazing too, but she lies to me too much and she won’t ever stop.
I know Daniel Mejia since I was five-years-old. He is always there for me and my little brother. I am glad that Daniel is in my life as my father because I love him as one and he loves me like I am his own blood. Yes, we do argue at times, but that’s how father’s and daughters are.
This is to confirm that Mr. Mota is my father which I have lived my whole life. I can assure you that he is a very responsible, caring and respectful man. He has always taken care of us which I am thankful for. He has not only given us love, and moral values but also has taught us how to be thankful for all the opportunities this country has given us. He is the only one that works in the family, my Mom stays home taking care of us, my brother is in high school, my sister is in middle school and I am currently enrolled in, The University of Houston.
Every day that my mom comes home she makes sure that everything for my brother and I is done before she worries about her school work or her work she has to do for her job. My mom is my best friend and my go to person with everything. She welcomes me with open arms whenever I need her, she will forever be an inspiration and very important to
I have thought about this for a while now. Therefore, after the incident yesterday I decided it would be best if I got this off my chest. I love the two of you with all my heart. Nothing gives me more joy than to see the two of you happy. Happy with, school, job, boyfriends, kids, spending time with each other…life.
My mother was a god to me in those days, and in my eyes she could do no wrong. I think she understood this, and in turn she lavished attention on me like I was a princess in my own little world whose wishes were to be carried out no matter the cost. We were close, too, and not a day went by when I did not divulge some sort of secret knowledge to my mom.
“You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy when skies are gray. You’ll never know, dear, how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away.” Ever since I was little girl, whether while strumming on his guitar or singing it softly in the night while I close my eyes, those lyrics have been a special song to my father and me.
A friend once told me family is not who you grew up with, but the ones that will always be there no matter what. Love means sticking together throughout any hard time letting go of things. I love my parents for always being supportive when I feel like giving up. Lastly I love my boyfriend for always being there for me and helping me out when I need help. We don’t always have to love our family, we can care for them because we grew up with them but that’s it.
My mother was not only worry and take care of me, she always by my side when I need her help. I felt sad, my mother always by my side to talk and to console. While I am glad, my mother is always been there to share and listen to me. When I failed to do something, my mother who was gave me advices. She has always supported me in all my choices. She tried to make me strong people with independent minds. I looks to her in hopes that someday I will be as happy, as strong and as well as
