Future It was early in the early Sunday morning and we had all finished eating breakfast. Grandma was in the kitchen hand washing her china plates. She had on a beautiful yellow summer dress. It was spaghetti straps and the dress went all the way to the floor it was so long. Grandpa was in the living room with my brother. Gramps was watching the race and my brother, Trey, was playing with his cars. Gramps was laying in a blue reclinable chair wearing his lucky black shirt that said Lucky Party Shirt on the front. He also had his “lucky” grey sweatpants. If we asked why there lucky he would go on for two hours talking about it. Seriously, I timed it. Trey was still in his spiderman pjs. The shirt was a long sleeved blue shirt and Spiderman's …show more content…
His pants were blue too but it was covered in Spiderman's face. My mum and I were in a little cute room sewing. Sounds stupid I know, but the sewing is fun. It’s like mother-daughter time. I made a little elephant and she made a little cat. I made the elephant out of betty boop stuff because betty boop is her favourite character ever and she adores elephants. Therefore, I got the idea to do a betty boop elephant. Clever, no? Besides, it was animal day. That’s when all we have to only make animals. Of course, you could have figured that on your own but just in case, I said something. I grabbed the kitten that my mum made and held it close. I told her thank you. Mum knew that I loved cats. It was a big cat pillow made out of a kitty fabric. I loved it so much. I have a fat cat right now and she is like my daughter. Her name is Maggie and wherever I go, she goes. She is a black and brown tabby cat with a cute little pink nose. Then, all …show more content…
I look around confused. He let out a soft chuckle. “W..Who’s there?” I say as my voice shakes. “Name’s Jimmy. Sorry I had to put you in there but we couldn’t have you freak out like that by other people.” his voice is soft. It was a comforting voice. I somehow felt safe. He reassured me telling me it was all going to be okay. “Welcome to the future.” He opens the door to reveal a beautiful forest-like area. It was beautiful. I start running. I run and run until I hit the edge. I let the breeze flow through my hair. The waterfall across from me was breathtaking. Jimmy takes me everywhere. It wasn’t that big of an area but it was amazing. “Where is my family at?” I look at Jimmy with a big smile. He frowns looking at me. I know what he was gonna say. They didn’t make it. I turn running. Faster than I ever have. I hear Jimmy calling my name. I look back with tears streaming down my face. I hit a pole. Everything is black again. I wake up in the bathroom with my family around me. I first hug my brother. They explain to me that I slipped on water in the bathroom and blacked out. I tell them all about my vision. I still remember it to this
Running we get to the deck. All around people are confused. I look for anything to tell me what happened. Nothing. Boom!!!
In Sara Gruen’s novel Water for Elephants, the theme of love being a driving force in the characters’ decision making is displayed through the use of characterization and conflict throughout the novel. Jacob’s love for Marlena causes him to make unexpected and often foolish decisions. When Jacob suddenly kissed Marlena, her reaction caused him to realize “‘[he] shouldn’t have done that,’” (Gruen, 2006, p. 153). Jacob was unable to conceal his love for Marlena, which, in turn, caused him to suddenly kiss her. Jacob’s character is extremely love driven, which is demonstrated by his romantic outbursts. Without thinking of the results, Jacob decided to keep Rosie because of his love for her. When Jacob told Marlena they were keeping Rosie, his reasoning was “‘I love that bull.

Bernhard Schlink once said, “As an author, you hope for a director and a cast that will make something wonderful out of your book” The director, Francis Lawrence, did just this for the author, Sara Gruen, and her book, Water for Elephants. Water for Elephants is a thrilling romance about a man named Jacob Jankowski, who jumps on a train and joins the circus. He then falls in love with a girl who has a crazy husband. This plot that pulls on the audience’s heart strings has a wide range of moods that help the story be such an emotional roller coaster for the audience. The author and director both do a beautiful job of showing the different moods: romance, nostalgia, and intense that helps

Following the trail, we lost sight of the waterfall for most of the time it took to climb down. As we neared the bottom, huge rocks at the edge of the waterfall blocked all view of it. Once the waterfall became visible, it was more beautiful that ever. From the bottom, we could see the vapors rising from where the falls bubbled into the pool. We could see the rainbow that was made from the sunlight shining through the mist. Since it was such a nice day, we decided to go for a swim.

the quilt blocks. She told me what she knew about them, the rest we gathered from my grandmothers' diary she kept as a girl. My auntie said she was just waiting for someone to take up quilting, and whispered "I'm just glad it was you honey". My aunt passed on shortly after this.
When my father picked me up I was blacked out and only remember getting home and falling to the ground because I was unable to function. My father carried me to my bed and shut my door without saying a word, which is when I knew I had made a mistake. I went to bed, oblivious to what really happened to me. I woke up with a pounding headache and was still unable to walk on my own. I felt pain, regret and memory loss.

The falls were rushing down layer after layer making a massive pool at the bottom. The water was ice cold with the ground feeling as slick as a freshly cut piece of countertop. After we had cooled off by swimming in the water, we started our four miles hike back down the mountain. However, this time I did not use my phone once, I just took in the magnificence with my eyes rather than looking through a lense.
I wandered around the path near the lake because it was always peaceful and quiet there in the morning and the trees that hung over the wide walkway only drew me in more. The cool wind blew continuously, and some of the leaves that barely hung on to the branches were pulled along with it. They floated while dropping slowly, and one of the leaves chose my head as a landing spot. I brushed my hair with my hand, not caring if doing so messes up my hair, since the wind already accomplished that job the second I took a step outside my house.
