Through the story “Animal Farm” there were many examples of ethos, logos, and pathos. For these three animals Old major, snowball. And napoleon. Some examples for ethos for all of them is that Old major thinks that the rebellion is better for all of the animals rather than just work until they can’t then they just get slaughtered. For snowball she doesn't care about anything only that she stays alive and well and that is very selfish and that just isn't good. For napoleon He wants to only get his way and he doesn't care what happens as long as he gets what he wants. For the examples of logos Old major makes some decisions that have good reason and that makes sense to the other animals like that if they didn’t rebel then they would die and that

An example of Moss’s outstanding usage of ethos, pathos, and logos is Jeffrey Dunn’s story. Dunn held an executive position at Coca-Cola in 2001, when the main company goal was to drive Coca-Cola into poorer areas. On a business trip to Brazil, Dunn realized that “these people need a lot of things, but they don’t need a Coke” and decided to push the company in a healthier direction. This choice led to Dunn’s eventual firing (491-494). This story not only appeals to pathos by getting to readers’ emotions, but also to ethos and logos because Dunn is a credible source and gives an authentic experience that adds to the credible feel of the article. The fact in this article is that the writer uses logos and pathos more in the critique. Logos, meaning from the text book is the arrangement of an argument and also evidence that supports the writer’s statement. Pathos is Associated with emotional feelings. Ethos simply means the act of a writer trying to convince his audience. I believe that the writer did not use ethos much in the story.
President Lincoln, King George VI, and President F. Roosevelt all gave speeches facing a conflict and they used ethos, pathos, and logos when persuading their audiences of the arguments they presented. They used ethos to prove their credibility and trustworthiness, pathos to attract their audience and connect to them on an emotional level, and logos to back up their information and arguments with logical reasoning.
In literature, archetypes are devices used by the author in order to portray a deeper meaning though the text. George Orwell utilizes symbols archetypes evidently in order to describe the Russian Revolution in a familiar way. Throughout Orwell’s Animal Farm, there are symbolic archetypes of Light against Darkness along with numerology to illustrate the corruption of Russia’s government at the time.
George Orwell's novel Animal Farm is subtitled "a Fairy Story", a label that may make the book seem innocent and appropriate for children and classroom settings. However, the title is misleading. Animal Farm is a work of Communist propaganda. It outlines and even encourages the overthrow of the government, and explains how to set up and maintain a communist state. It portrays government as corrupt and the public as stupid and easily manipulated. Orwell himself wavered between being a socialist and an anarchist.
Animal Farm by George Orwell is a novel based on the lives of a society of animals living on the Manor Farm. Although the title of the book suggests the book is merely about animals, the story is a much more in depth analysis of the workings of society in Communist Russia. The animals are used as puppets to illustrate how the communist class system operated and how Russian citizens responded to this. And also how propaganda was used by early Russian leaders such as Stalin, and the effort this type of leadership had on the behavior of the people of Russia.
The novel “Animal Farm” was written by the author name George Orwell. Animal Farm is a novel based upon the lives of a society of animals wanting a better life for themselves living on the Manor Farm. The setting of the book is a farm called “Manor Farm”. The theme of this book is that the animals should make a stand; if they continue doing the same thing they will continue getting the same results. It is better to be free and starving, than to be fed and enslaved.
Animal farm by George Orwell demonstrates existentialism throughout the whole novel in many different ways. Existentialism is basically the philosophy of existence, focusing more on individual existence, freedom, and choice. In the novella the animals come in contact with the fact that life could be much better than just living by the rules made by man. The farm animals can not read nor write, they are uneducated until they are later inspired by a dying pig that goes by the name of old Major. Old Major informs the farm animals that life could be much better and that they have the power to change how all the animals live in the future:
Throughout history, the world has seen many forms of government and multiple types of leaders and their leadership styles. One of the styles that has had the biggest impact on the world has been tyranny. Examples of this are Hitler in Germany, and Stalin in Russia. In George Orwell’s Animal Farm, the animals that live on Manor Farm want their freedom, so they overthrow the tyrannical government headed by Mr. Jones, but the new Animal Farm was not a success due to its new leader, Napoleon. No matter who the leader was or what the leadership style was, Animal farm was always doomed to fail because of human nature, strength of mind, and a fear factor.
In George Orwell’s Animal Farm, a main theme is that power corrupts those who possess it. A definition of corruption is,“dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery.” Orwell develops this idea through the character Napoleon in various ways. Looking back in the book, the animal’s rebellion quickly turned political and revolved around, “Leader, Comrade Napoleon (Orwell 81)”. The power Napoleon possed was executed through lies and selfishness, aided by the lack of intellectual ability in the other animals. The corruption of Napoleon’s power is displayed when he favors himself, along with the other pigs, and eventually the dogs, who all get better rations of food compared to the other animals. Another main demonstration of how power corrupts Napoleon is how he separates himself from the other animals on the farm, displaying his feelings if superiority to the other animals. A ceremonial nature develops towards Napoleon. The last way power corrupts Napoleon is how he acts recklessly; killing other animals and lying about
The Seven Commandments are the basic principles of animalism worked out by the pigs and described originally as "unalterable laws" by which the animals were to live. The Seven Commandments were written on the barn wall for all animals to see and read if they could. The original Commandments are:
Writers often use social criticism in their books to show corruptness or weak points of a group in society. One way of doing this is allegory which is a story in which figures and actions are symbols of general truths. George Orwell is an example of an author who uses allegory to show a social criticism effectively. As in his novel Animal Farm, Orwell makes a parody of Soviet Communism as demonstrated by Animal Farm's brutal totalitarian rule, manipulated and exploited working class, and the pigs' evolution into the capitalists they initially opposed.
