When it comes to sexual ethics it can be an incredibly complicated battle as to what is approved and what it's not approved. A person is brought up, told, and shown how to act and how to think, especially when it comes to sexual relations. With that being said, some common principles that should be focused on when it comes to sex are verbal consent, hygiene, and communication overall. Going further in depth with these principles, when verbal consent is referred to, it means that both participants have verbally and affirmatively agreed to any sexual act before or during the sexual encounter. Prostitution has been occurring for centuries at this point, and even though it is mainly frowned upon and seen as wrong, the right to have verbal consent with each “client” is more than needed. The use of verbal consent allows both parties to leave content along with treating the prostitute better than just as a sex slave. Others may believe that since this is a person's job and since someone is paying for the sex, that consent is not needed and is basically granted at all times. This can be a fair opinion, but not allowing someone the option to consent is taking away a person's human right, which is wrong in every sense. Consequently, prostitutes do tend to have multiple sex partners over their course of work so STD testing is necessary, for the safety of both participants. Some could argue that STD’s would just come with the nature of that job and should be expected, but all in all, for the safety of everyone involved, it is best that each person be tested and clean before partaking in sexual activity. With the concept of pornography verbal consent should always be present within each episode or movie, especially since the actors usually don’t know each other, making the experience more comfortable for one another. Some may say that if they are getting paid for the movie or episode or the fact that this is their job, consent shouldn’t be necessary, that it could be obvious. The act of hygiene is also necessary within the making of pornography. It should be mandatory for everyone to be tested frequently, especially if condoms are not being used. An employer should make it absolutely mandatory, allowing his employees to be kept as safe as possible. Others could say that since these people consented to this job and know what the job entails, STD test shouldn’t be a requirement and the people should be allowed to make their own decisions just as they did to accept this job. Lastly, communication in general should be used throughout the making of the pornography. The use of communication could cause the pornography to be more believable and enjoyable. Some could say that people view porn specifically for the sex, not the “connection” which could be a valid point, but with communication present, each person could be more comfortable along with making the porn more believable and more appealing to the
