Ethics is a branch of philosophy that addresses questions about morality. It is a way of life that questions concepts such as right and wrong and it applies to our personal and professional lives. If you are able to understand ethics and values you can easily increases your success in a professional career. We define ethics as “well based standards of right and wrong that prescribes what humans ought to do, usually in terms of virtues, beliefs, or even obligations .”
In ethics there are a lot of different types of ethical positions. However, specifically my position would be existentialist. Existentialists are individual thinkers that believe in the freedom of humans to create their own spirit or also known as, individuals that create who they are. Concluding that existentialists create who they are through life decisions. Believing in this ethical position, I believe that everyone is responsible for his or her actions. This type of ethical position stresses freedom of choice and responsibility of one’s actions. I believe that the only way individuals can learn is by learning from their mistakes. It is the only standpoint that makes sense. People are going to make mistakes, and being able to bounce back and learn from your mistake is a great accomplishment.
Existentialism can be seen as a rigorous attempt to work out the implications of individualism. When you think of it, each and everyone one of us is alone in this world. Sometimes the situations where individuals got fired are because of a little miss understandings. Then again, there are some instances where the individual absolutely should be fired. Actions victims can take are speak up to the individual, make a complaint towards the individual, file a discrimination charges against the person, and sue for emotional or physical injures that one may suffer from. There are many benefits to workplace relationships such as greater teamwork, productivity, lower turnover rates, and higher employee retention rates. All problems within a workplace relationship should be left outside the organization to prevent tension among other staff members.

Existentialism is a phiosophy which revolves around the central belief that we create ourselves. External factors are not important. It is the way that we let external factors affect us that determines who we are. As individuals we all have the freedom to choose our own path and that is what life is all about. Along with the freedom of choice comes the responsibilty of one's actions which can make some people anxious but give others meaning to their lives. To overcome this anxiousness and accept responsibilty is to meet the challenges of life and to truly live it.
