Lying under oath is considered Perjury(England). When you are giving testimony before you take the stand you must swear in. You must say “I swear to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me God.” (England). In some cases prosecution will call up witness who they know will automatically commit perjury in order to help their case. Even if the defendant is found guilty and is later exonerated, the truth will come out and someone will be held responsible. As an investigator it is your job to uphold the law and by breaking that just too simply see a person who committed a crime be punished is wrong. Everyone has ethics so it’s up to the investigator to do the right thing and let the courts and jury make the final decision.
