A woman approaches you at a grocery store and asks if you have seen her phone. The last place she seen it was in her purse and Oddly enough your best friend had just pulled out the same exact phone she is describing to you. What do you do. Do you tell the woman her phone was stolen by your childhood friend or do you simply turn a cold shoulder and go about your business.
As human beings we tend to feel that little white lies are harmless. Human are less than perfect and tend to be misguided. If a situation doesn 't directly affect us, our moral judgment is often tainted or weakened; because of one’s lack of ethical morality. I often ask myself, what is morally good? Is disciplines and consequences morally right for a bad deed? Or is it our blue print shaped and manipulated by the way we were raised? Does Culture, Religion, up bringing 's etc. affect moral judgment? Or do we have a natural link imbedded inside our psyche, which forces us to naturally know right from wrong?

I was raised in a religious family with god moral values, but with different situations those moral values are not always set in stone. I say this because as a individual I feel that whatever will embrace a more bearable outcome for me to cope with often neglecting moral values I see as right. We have one resident in the long-term facility who has stage four cancer of spinal cord and he has been suffering from intense pain. Every time when I enter his room, he cries and implore to the god that he can minimize his suffering. He has prescription of hydromorphone 8 mg every 4 hourly PRN , oxycodone 5 mg every 6 hourly and 50 mcg of fentanyl path change every 3rd day. After giving all scheduled and PRN medicine his pain level remains same as before. When I see that patients I feel like to give highest dose of medicine as well as alternative pain management therapy so that he can have some comfort but ethically I have no right to do that. What is right and wrong? This question that has been asked throughout history all over the world that perplexes society even today. Many philosophers have attempted to answer this question, but it is hard to make out what the right answer would be or even if it can be answered. Who would be able to tell? That’s why we as individuals must make up our own minds on what is right or wrong. We can only hope to find our own moral path. Though it is up to us we can take a look at philosophers of the past to be a guiding hand at times.
One of the most persistently asked and perpetually unanswered questions in psychology is the question of morality. What is it, how does it develop, and where does it come from? A basic definition of morality is “beliefs about what is right behavior and what is wrong behavior” (Merriam-Webster).
