China Garland Dr.Holland Reflection Paper 1 In class we read Estrange labour which was about Karl Marx and how he believed the economic system of capitalism society divides itself into two classes: bourgeoisie and the proletariat. In this situation the workers not only suffer being poor but also experience separation from the world. This estrangement occurs because the worker is so much into making the product and not their outside life to where they become separated with world. He help build this world of objects but does not own it. This first type of separation from the world is known as estrangement which the worker is the product of his work. So basely the worker is working hard to get money and help support their families and they barely realize they are been oppressed because they know they need the money to support their family. Also he talks about the workers and how they don’t enjoy what they do so just do the work to get it over with. Another thing about the workers they are so use of making this product till they don’t have to instruction or look to see if it being made right it’s kind of like they are program like robots. Some more things estrange labour talk about was Marx felt people were being bought for their labour. Also he talks about how people work so hard they never become wealthy because they were getting paid so little. When people only work for money 9 out 10 I’m pretty sure they don’t enjoy their jobs and this is what Marx was saying and after a while people become dehumanize and start producing more products to either get paid or just to get the job done . I also agree with Marx about the classes which do divide our society into two. I feel this is correct because our society is ran like this today for example the people who own business such as the bourgeois is rich in today world and didn’t have to work hard to get where their at now because of their background and where they came from because their generation was probably wealthy and pass it down to them. Now for the proletariats their family probably wasn’t wealthy and working hard for their money is all they know in order to take care of home so they have no choice but to work
