The Running Man By Stephen King
1 After reading this novel, It left me feeling curious and amazed. This was my first time fully reading a Stephen King book and he amazed me, how throughout the book, you can see courage, mysterious, dramatic moments, suspicion and building of friendship. I was able to take this story and form it into my own viewpoint. This book was opened to interpretation.
With this novel, it was set in a dystopian U.S in the year of 2025, where the nation’s economy is ruined basically, and I was curious, if connect this novel to real life, the novel is just the rising of what’s happening now. I was wondering what if Stephen King just let me read a book about what can happen to the U.S in 8 years. …show more content…

I think the Author’s Purpose for writing The Running Man was a combination of both Persuade and Entertain. Of course, a Stephen King book can always entertain a person. But I think Stephen King was trying to send a message to United States Citizens. The way he described the year 2025 of the world is messed up and realizing how bad it is, to the present of 2017. I think he trying to also tell us if we don’t fix the issues with America right now. America can turn out like the novel.

3. The biggest thing the character of Ben Richards learned in this story was that the government or the people that are “in charge” are not you or the people’s friend. They will always be on your/people’s side. They would do what’s good for themselves and get away with it whether it put others in danger.

4. The biggest lesson I learned from this story was that “Happy Endings” doesn’t exist, especially in the real world. The book has given me a “Happy Ending” that obvious and is completely unrealistic, which I didn’t buy at all. Stories always have an epilogue, which is just a beginning of another story. A happy ending will need constant, continuous effort if you want it to
