A Will is a legal document which declares your last wishes and how you wish your Estate and Property to be distributed after you are deceased. A Testament is your last wish as to how you wish your personal belongings to be devised. This action is in truth your last declaration made at your demise. A Will and Testament informs your loved ones what to do with any real estate that you may own, how to separate and give any personal property that you have such as clothing, jewelry, or furnishings. A Will and Testament can also include whomever you wish to receive anything that the law does not directly enable to inherit anything that you may wish.

The ability, or right, to devise property through a will is not an inherent right, but rather a privilege allowed by law. Every state garnishes its own statutes which sets forth precise rules, regulation, and instructions dealing with the disposition of property in one’s will. A testator may change or revoke their will at any time prior to their death. Due to the probate laws being so technical and that they differ so much between the states it is not recommended for someone to write their own will. The theme death has always played a crucial role in literature. Death surrounds us and our everyday life, something that we must adapt and accept. Whether it's on television or newspaper, you'll probably hear about the death of an individual or even a group. Most people have their own ideas and attitude towards it, but many consider this to be a tragic event due to many reasons. For those who suffered greatly from despair, living their life miserably and hopelessly, it could actually be a relief to them. Death affects not only you, but also those around you, while some people may stay unaffected depending on how they perceive it.
Consider the validity and effect of the following two clauses in the will of Dan: a) ‘I leave my cottage, at 42 Drumsesk Road, to my friend Gurpreet in full confidence that he will dispose of it in accordance with the instructions given to him during my lifetime’. Just before Dan signed the will, he told Gurpreet that he had left a ‘sum of money’ in the will to Gurpreet which he wanted him to hold for the benefit of Jenny. Gurpreet witnessed the will. Jenny died two days before Dan leaving two children. b) ‘I leave my residuary estate to my brothers Ken and Sam jointly’. A few days before the execution of the will Dan gave Ken a sealed envelope, saying ‘these are some instructions I want you and Sam to carry out when I die’. Ken replied ‘you know you can rely on me – if it’s fine with Sam it’s fine with me’. A year later Sam and Dan were killed in a car accident. The sealed envelope says that Dan wanted his residuary estate to pass to his youngest son Joseph. Advise the executors of Dan’s will.
While navigating the abundant and sometimes confusing legal language of advance directives can be time consuming, it would benefit every person to consider their end of life wishes and have some form of written statement available for their doctor and family to understand those wishes. Doing this in advance can prevent emotional anguish, suffering and expensive litigation. In the end, clearly and when possible, written, documentation of a medical directive, a living will, or a chosen health care power of attorney will lessen the burden for the medical professionals and family of a dying or incapacitated person.

The type of covenant we are in with God is suzerainty. This simply means that God is our master and we are his slaves. Too many there might be a bad connotation in the master-slave analogy. However, I embrace the fact that god is my master and I am His slave. He will never do anything to harm me, knows my needs, will provide for me, and He loves me unconditionally. That is way different compared to the way slaves were treated by their human masters.

Over time like all great philosophers, Kant's arguments have slowly been critiqued as time changed but his work provoked a wide range of responses, both good and bad. No matter what we think of Kant and his views, it is impossible to ignore his impact on modern day philosophy. Two hundred years after his death, and I’m still writing about him.
