WATER QUALITY AND CONTAMINATION
Abstract
In this world water pollution has became a major problem. Water pollution has became a threat to the health and the well-being of humans, plants, and animals. While the world becomes more industrial and smaller due to hazardous dumping and communications and trade Has contributed to the problem of pollution. All water pollution is dangerous to the health of living organisms, human health, and animals. Sales trade can be affected by water pollution thus effecting the economy. Populations all over the world use rivers and seas as main sources for water.
Introduction
Water is a basic living essential that needs to be protected. People living in the United States utilize groundwater for cooking, cleaning, drinking, showering, and for all other water purposes.. 97% of people living in rural areas of the nation use groundwater, and 30-40% of water used agriculturally is from the ground. (Didier, 2010) I will be discussing Lab 2 experiment that we conducted in week 2 in this

During this experiment I found that, the Dasani water with the 4and 1 test strips, the Dasani water was a different color from the tap water. The Dasani water test strips was a light color and the Fiji and tap water strips stayed the same, the strip did not/slightly change colors on the test strip. Dasani water is a very popular water that a lot of people drink and spend their money on. As I continued my experiment I found grey colors on the test strips. The grey on the test strips mean that there is contamination in the bottled water. My results found that spending your money on bottled water instead of drinking tap water may be just as harmful as tap water if one does not know the full information on the bottle water at
Water pollution is a very serious problem as it affects one of the most essential ingredients to our very livelihood. The earth is covered in water, in fact about 70% of the Earth is covered in water, only
'Water pollution is any chemical, physical or biological change in the quality of water that has a harmful effect on any living thing that drinks or uses or lives(in) it. ' (Azeem 1). In Canada, most people live in the southern part along with many agricultural and industrial activities causing the worst cases of water pollution. Water pollution is caused by population growth and industrialization, but can be prevented if proper controls are taken into consideration to help reduce the discharge of waste materials. Water pollution has been a huge disadvantaging concern for humans as well as wildlife for over many decades, but can actually be prevented if attempted. Preventing waste materials from being dumped into lakes and rivers, controlling
I chose to look up the topic of water pollution. I discovered this topic by going through the themes of the sci-fi books we are currently reading. In the book Feed, by M.T. Anderson, one of the themes was environmental impact on humans so I based it off of that. This topic has always been something that I was curious about because I always wondered how water pollution affected fish. Not only does water pollution affect fish, but it also affects a lot of people. The water pollution of the Mississippi halts people from doing recreational activities like water skiing, tubing, and fishing. Before I started researching this topic, I knew that phosphorus runoff from fields affected the waters health. Some questions that I asked myself during my
This pollution can be divided into two categories: directly and indirectly. Water pollution is a good medium of transportation and solvent, therefore, this can enable the pollutant substances and toxic contaminants dissolve in the water bodies. Water pollution is a serious global issue today. This happens because of the deaths and diseases occur as well as animals. This issue strongly is led to the worldwide of destruction.
This is because only a small part of the population, particularly in developing countries, have access to water of acceptable quality. It is estimated that in some countries only 20% of the rural population has water of satisfactory quality. Based on these statistics, it is clear the urgent need for awareness about caring for water use. Almost without realizing it, we are seriously jeopardizing this essential resource, not for us but for our children's children and their generations, aware that in other parts o...
Littering and water pollution are also considered serious issues too. There are three different types of pollution that ends up in our waters. Physical, biological, and chemical pollution all affect our waters negatively. Physical pollution would actually just be litter/garbage in the water. Biological pollution occurs when bacteria and viruses enter our bodies of water
“It is hard truth to swallow, but nature does not care if we live or die. We cannot survive without the oceans, for example, but they can do just fine without us” (Rodger Rosenblatt).
Both developed and developing countries face issues regarding the safety and security of water sources (Anuar, 2012; Moe, 1991). Poor water quality and quantity has been one of the main contributors to human health related illnesses in developing countries (Moe, 1991). In addition, developed countries, such as Canada have water quality issues that are highlighted through Indigenous health impairments and as a result, advocacy for cleaner water (Anuar, 2012; Rudd, 2016). In Canada, one concern imposing threats to Indigenous health is various forms of water contamination (Gracey and King, 2009).
Water pollution is one of the most serious environmental challenges. It occurs when water is contaminated by such substances as human and animal wastes, toxic chemicals, metals and oils. Pollution can affect rain, rivers, lakes, oceans and the water beneath the earth, called ground water. Polluted water may look clean or dirty, but it all contains bacteria, viruses, chemicals or other chemicals than can cause illness or even death. Impurities must be removed before such water can be used safely for drinking, cooking or washing.
There will growth of water born diseases increasing health hazards and degradation of environment and ecosystems. This affects the natural environment system leading to exaction of some species. And the due contamination of water can also lower the production of agriculture products and other economy activities will decrease. If there will more water bodies pollution it also has negative effects on its environment there decline of economy of the country. Since more of the country budget have invest on the health sectors. The country major users of water are agriculture, intensification hydropower and industrialization. Urbanization is another significant challenge. Rural-urban migration increases pressure on urban infrastructure and services and cause environmental problems which will lead to water pollution.
Wastewater is the combination of water-carried or liquid wastes starting in the sanitary conveniences of dwellings, industrial or commercial facilities. In addition to this, surface water, groundwater and storm water may also be present. It is any water that has been badly affected in quality by anthropogenic influence. It contains waste from residential, industrial and commercial processes. Municipal water contains industrial wastewater, sewage and gray water. Gray water is the water from sinks and showers. Large industries also produce wastewater.
Water pollution is one of the main concerns of the environment. It is known as a change in the chemical or physical condition of the waters. Polluting the waters is causing harmful and tragic diseases that affect many families. It is also a global problem that not only affects people but also animals and plants. Water pollution is a current issue that has serious consequences; it progresses everyday in our lakes, oceans, rivers and other bodies of water.
Water pollution has affected many people and animals. Water pollution is the disposal of garbage into a water stream. Some of the water pollution is from littering, some water pollution is done by chemical leaks, and others by ships. Also, There is much information about water pollution.
Water pollution is also a major thing in the world because almost 60% of it is fishes. It occurs due to several factors; the industrial waste dumped into the rivers and other water body’s cause am imbalance in the water leading to its severe contamination and deaths. And the infamous Global warming is the emission of greenhouse gases particularly CO2 is leading to global warming.
Water pollution is something that can be prevented; it is important to be aware of the causes of water pollution to keep the environment safe and clean for the many generations to come. Domestic households and industrial and agricultural practices often produce wastewater that can cause rivers and lakes to become polluted. This is typically called sewage and wastewater pollution. Sewage is a term for wastewater that usually contains feces, urine, and laundry waste. With there being billions of people on earth, treating sewage is a big priority.
