The Impact and Effect Transportation and Logistics has on the World Today Transportation is the center of this world today, it is one of the main things that keeps this world operational. Transportation impacts this world in so many ways, because at the end of the day it is the glue that holds it together. If transportation decided to abruptly cease its operation, the world would be in an upheaval. The upheaval would unravel from the fact that this world has become so dependent on transportation for many years dating back to the B.C period. There is cause to believe there was a man that explored the sea nine hundred thousand years ago, in order to accomplish seafaring mission on his own. Many believe that in the ancient times that the first boat was known as simple log boats. Confirmation of these log boats were made by digging up evidence which dated back to seven to ten thousand years ago. After boats were discovered, humans decided to trained horses. By training horses to become obedient, this allowed humans in the in the 4000 B.C period to have new means of being able to transport goods from one place to another. During the time humans were training horses to become obedient, the wheel was finally invented in Mesopotamia by using heavy logs. The invention of the wheel made it possible for the inventions of wagons, cars, trains, planes, and most factory equipment such as tractors. I don’t think anyone would have ever guessed that transportation would have grown into major factor in our lives. As the population around the world continue to grow in billions, technology in transportation is forced to grow with it by changing and developing new ideas for the future to accommodate the growing population. Technology of new inventions can be traced back to the Industrial Revolutions, because in the 19th century transportation started to endure many positive changes. The invention of the telegraph communication device helped achieve positive results for transportation, which helped it soar even more. The spectacular inventions of the steam engines and the rail transport, help relieve pressure off humans and animals. The momentum and magnitude of the steam engine and rail transport gradually intensified enabling specialization through manufacturing. The timely invention and growth of the combustible engine and the automobile around the 1900s, and transportation on the road was seen in a different light. Due to all this new development in transportation, the first contemporary highways were built in the 19th century with broken stones of even sides called macadam. A few years later, tarmac and concrete would replace macadam for paving the roads. The Wright Brothers revealed the first effective airplane, and after World War I
