The Tremendous Effects of Insecticides A question commonly associated with the word insecticides is, what are they? Well I have the answer, insecticides are chemicals that are used to eliminate insects. In the agricultural industry, insecticides are classified into different categories,and the most used is carcinogenic. A carcinogenic insecticide is a substance or agent producing or causing cancer. This is just one of the reason that I believe there are more cons then pros when dealing with a insecticide.. When I was a kid , I can remember my parents taking me and my brother an apple orchard and picking apples. A insect is a species that interacts with us for food ,invades our homes and gardens, destroys wood in houses, spreads disease, or just hurts our natural ecosystem. The way insecticides can enter your body are usually by skin absorption, inhalation or ingestion not intentionally of course. In the form of gas, vapor, dust, smoke can move to the lungs through the mouth and nose while breathing. This is why insecticides are not beneficial, it's hurting us humans more then the insects themselves.

Worldwide, more than hundreds species of insects have developed some degree of immunity. There are many important issues in the world regarding insecticides deterioration of the environment and it's affects on the average person. Though, the one that is worst then you know it is that individuals have it in the food that they consume. Yet it is still found daily in foods all around the world. Insecticides are used by produce growers to control insects and some pests that can destroy crops. These toxins are back firing on its users because they are being eaten by humans in the forms of fruits and vegetables that have remaining of the insecticide on them. How safe are these toxins to humans and what is being done help the environment and the health of humans and non-targeted animals? How much does the average person consume harmful amounts of toxins during every meal? If the levels are unsafe, why is this problem continuing to be ignored by the people who are supposed to
help? These questions when asked only leaded to ask more questions. Until things are changed, the systems of insecticide usage will increase and more and more people will me harmed. Society can never be for sure as to the long term effects of these dangerous toxins on our environment, what we are eating and giving to the future of our world. These are the reason why insecticides shows nothing but cons and we don't need it. The use of planes for the spraying of insecticides has increased. The gypsy moth came in to the United States unplanned and the first thing that was done was that they tried to spray insecticides. The result was that more moths came back after the spraying. The alternate used to kill off the moths was to bring in parasites and it worked. Another incident in Long Island occurred with the same type of moths and they sprayed the insecticides that killed livestock and affected bodies of water. In regards to population growth, with a now, never before seen spike in human population, there is an increased demand for foods that are produced by the influence of pollination, however, there are not enough bees to keep up with the task. It is because of this high demand that more farmers and industrial agriculturists are transiting towards genetically modified organisms (GMO) to produce larger quantities of food. However, with an increase in GMOs, this process brings along it toxic runoff and insecticides that are damaging to the bees. When the bees come into contact with a plant that was recently subjected to GMO insecticide spraying, over time the exposure to the chemicals weakens the bee’s immune system.
