The American Revolution started in mid 17th century, fighting for their independence from Great Britain. There were many factors that contributed to this uprising against the English crown. The main factor that started the fire for this revolution was from the tyranny and neglect the colonies received. “No taxation without representation!” was the driving factor that motivated the American Revolution and symbolized the democracy that the colonies thrived for. The injustice of not being able to represented, total control of the colonies’ economy ,and having the British army in the colonies were major conflicts that resulted to this revolution. This new idea will later spread around the world and have a huge impact.

A Boston patriot, Joseph Warren, said in his speech that the British army were deployed here in the American colonies for “the enforcement obedience to acts” which to all colonies seeme “unjust and unconstitutional.” Many people of the colonies are starting to dislike the total control England has on the colonies’ economy, law and order. Thomas Paine wrote the book Common Sense in 1776, which he starts challenging the idea of why the colonies have to respond to the orders of the British Isles. He explains how “small islands not capable of protecting themselves are the proper objects for kingdom” and yet we have the British taking full control of the the colonies, Even though we respect and share similar beliefs, he states, “England to Europe: America to itself.” He emphasized how England, the small isles far away from America, shouldn’t govern a huge land that can govern themselves.
