Stardust is a book of adventure, generosity and multiple outcomes for love. It tells the story of second generation children in love or looking for love. The main character of this story though was already in love, madly in love with Victoria foster. He knows he loves her the second he lays eyes on her, this was an enjoyable part of the book for me. I also enjoyed the characters of this book as they were most entertaining and witty. In addition, I appreciated how the much the characters changed and were willing to adapt to their new circumstances. This book was entertaining with its different story plots as well.
The most interesting part of the story for myself would be how much Tristan loved Victoria. He loves her so much he would catch a fallen star for her. In the book, Victoria says “ if you bring me that star, the one that just fell, not another star, then I will kiss you” Victoria says this not knowing Tristan would actually do this and could end with a pleasant surprise at the end. Tristan was so strong minded about her yet she wanted love from another man, this was also an interesting part of the book for me. I admire the determination he has during the whole book, he would do anything for her. He was so determined to get her attention and retrieve

He goes through a series of events like trying to get the star walk with her broken leg. This was a struggle because Tristan tried to make a crutch but she was still in pain and in no condition to walk but Tristan tried to make the most of the circumstances like a gentleman. Their journey together was hard and they didn't eat very much, not until the stopped. The trip was a really enjoyable part of the book for me because no matter what Tristan was always looking out for the well being of Yvaine. Even when she tried to escape from him he was thinking about her and was hoping she was okay. He cared for her even though throughout the whole book she was rude to
The book had a few characters that I liked, but a lot of characters that I disliked. For example Yasmine was a character that I disliked. I didn’t like her because she brought pain to Paige’s life. Yasmine and Paige were best friends for months in Sixth grade. They were constantly doing fun activities together, like having sleepovers or planning each other’s birthday parties, but all that was ruined by a mistake Yasmine made. Paige and Yasmine were at a school dance, when
Fans of the novel found that the way the novel is written, you never want to put it down and the action keeps things moving and is quite entertaining. The novel pulls you in and makes you love each of the main characters in it. This is a great series for anyone to read, and it is audience friendly for whoever reads them. There is quite a bit of suspense that will make the novel exceed readers 's expectations, and the twists and turns keeps you guessing and lets nothing be predictable. Some like the way this group of people bands together when they really need to and keep things together so they can all stop the
I found the book to be easy, exciting reading because the story line was very realistic and easily relatable. This book flowed for me to a point when, at times, it was difficult to put down. Several scenes pleasantly caught me off guard and some were extremely hilarious, namely, the visit to Martha Oldcrow. I found myself really fond of the char...
Once I get past all of the rambling I did in the past paragraphs, I honestly really enjoyed the book. Though it wasn't like most of the other books I’ve read (meaning I didn't cry during the process of reading it), the characters were just as provokingly interesting as the characters in other stories, it was a little edgy and made me want to yell at it, shouting at Sam when she wouldn’t let Tyler play video games with Danny, or Danny when he called to have Sam and Tyler taken to a separate facility. Overall, this book opened me up to something that just isn't a romance novel. This story really shows that there are people with a lot of difficulties in their lives, and that’s what I liked the most about it.
There are several things that I like about this book. First off, I love historical fiction, and this is the genre of this book. Also, despite the author being too descriptive, the book went at a steady pace. For me, pace usually determines whether I will read the book or not, and I never really hesitated, or thought about changing books.
Before the civil rights movement could begin, a few courageous individuals had to guide the way. Dr. Vernon Johns was one of those individuals. Dr. Vernon Johns was a pastor and civil rights activist in the 1920s. Johns became the pastor of Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama in the late 1940s. During his time as a pastor, Johns preached many sermons on how African American people were being treated not only in the community but in society. Johns on multiple occasions upset his community through his ideas on social change. Through a sociologist perspective, many sociological concepts were displayed in The Vernon Johns Story. Some of those concepts included: ascribed status, conflict theory, deviant behavior, alienation, and
The ending of the book is so much more different than I thought it would have been. I thought the characters were going to like happily ever after and they did not. A smart writer throws loopholes and twists into his or her writing to keep the story interesting. When I think of love stories I think of happy endings. This story came to me as a surprise. It was not a happy ending and I was very sad at the end. The author knows how to control people’s emotions and can easily change them. Now I know that a piece does not have to be what someone might expect to be thought of as “good writing”. A piece can change up the rules of writing and still be considered “good writing”.
The plot was immense, organized in a logical way, and kept you guessing. It was easy to understand what was going on since the events that occurred were so relatable. Crossan’s love for poetry was evident throughout the story. Every few chapters included a poem and I thought that this was a nice addition. There were a lot of depressing moments but overall the book was very well written, in my opinion. The characters were unique, although a few were stereotypical, such as Apple’s English teacher Mr.
In Bright Star, Keats utilises a mixture of the Shakespearean and Petrarchan sonnet forms to vividly portray his thoughts on the conflict between his longing to be immortal like the steadfast star, and his longing to be together with his love. The contrast between the loneliness of forever and the intenseness of the temporary are presented in the rich natural imagery and sensuous descriptions of his true wishes with Fanny Brawne.
Movies and books can vary in a multitude of ways. Notably, a book can often communicate more details than movies and most of the time, books are even better than the movie representing the reading. Additionally, in the book Stardust by Neil Gaiman, the book presented a theme that indicates how circumstance changes, however, for the movie Stardust directed by Matthew Vaughn, the movie exhibits a theme of how people are never who they seem to be. To say nothing of, the novel Stardust uses Tristran’s relationship with Yvaine in a third-person perspective to push forward the theme of how circumstances changes, however in the movie Stardust, the director utilizes the setting to shape the characterization of Tristran to push forward the theme of
Second, in the concept that takes stars as images, Dyer indicated the image is a complicated configuration of verbal, visual, and acoustic signs, instead of only the visual one. He explained additionally the composition constitutes by the common images of stardom, or a specific star. The former includes an anatomy of the lifestyle, which involves fashion, taste, the notion of beauty of stars, conspicuous consumption, and idols of consumption. This concept could be linked to commercial or product placement that shapes the image of a role in films of TV series under capitalism. The latter contains considering stars as social types or specific images. In general social types, Dyer used Klapp’s definition on it as ‘a collective norm of role behaviour
Tristan, in search of a star to prove his love to Victoria, collides with Yvaine, a star that has been knocked out of the sky. Blinded by his preconceived ideas, Tristan is unable to see Yvaine for what she truly is—a star. When Tristan realizes his mistake, he immediately takes Yvaine captive in order to secure his proof of love for Victoria. As a result, when Tristan locks up the star, she becomes incapable of shinning; so in doing, he is locking up the truth, and therefore, his love. The foreshadowing in this first pivotal scene lays the groundwork for the rest of the film and introduces the importance of light.
Anomalisa is an extraordinary stop motion feature based around the premise of feeling lonely. The loss of passion in Michael’s day to day encounters is evident from his standoffish demeanor to both the man sitting next to him on the plane and the taxi driver. It is ironic that as a motivational speaker for customer service, his conversations with these strangers are so dull. From the beginning he has a clear detachment from the people around him, almost as if they were more of an annoyance.
To write a review for this movie isn’t easy because what you see in it depends on your point of view. The story is quite simple: The movie take place during the second world war and everyone who wanted to leave europe and go to america had to go through Casablanca. By this time almost everyone who lived in casablanca was waiting to get transit papers so that they could leave but to get these papers was hard and expensive.
Due to Shakespeare’s awareness of Tristan’s feelings, he guided him to accept his true love into his heart and to chase a new
