Essay On Socs Vs Greasers

Who has it rough all over, the socs or the greasers.

“All life demands struggle. Those who have everything given to them become lazy, selfish, and insensitive to the real values of life. The very striving and hard work that we so constantly strive to avoid is the major building block to the person we are today.” Pope Paul VII believe the Socs don’t have it as rough as the Greasers because the Socs aren't as emotional as the Greasers and don’t care for things as much as them to.

I believe if i was on the Socs side i would still think that the Greasers have i more rough because the Socs like to jump the Greasers and also have more money than them to.While both greasers and socs face many struggles, I see that socs face many challenges like poor family relationships and even though the socs have money it doesn’t solve all of their problems. But greasers have “it rough all over” because they come from a run down family and messed up background.

The fact that the Socs face many challenges doesn’t prove that they have more struggles than the Greasers.

This shows that the greasers have no respect for the law and like to hold up places to get money and have lots of troubles. It shows that the greasers are poor and don’t have as much money and that's why they dress like

This supports my perspective in the way that they don’t dress in expensive clothes don’t care but still do in a way. In conclusion all the quotes about the greasers show that the socs have it easier than the greasers because the greasers have less money and don’t dress as well but still don’t care what people think about them.

The reason the Greasers have it more harder than the Socs is because the Greasers weren’t always in the best setting while being raised. Which meant that they were grown up in a bad neighborhood. Chaim Potok said “All of us grow up in particular realities - a home, family, a clan, a small town, a neighborhood. Depending upon how we're brought up, we are either deeply aware of the particular reading of reality into which we are born, or we are peripherally aware of it.” This means that as they grew up in a bad neighborhood they are still aware of what is going on around them. It shows that since they were raised up in the neighborhood the surroundings they had while they were young shaped them in to what they are now. On page 3 SE Hinton quotes “We've almost as close brothers; when you grow up in a tight knit neighborhood like ours you get to know each other real well.” This shows that even though they were all raised in a bad neighborhood they can still be like brothers and have each other. The way it supports this quote is by showing them that the didn’t have a great life growing up but the only thing they had was each other. In conclusion this shows that the Greasers had a real rough childhood and the things that had happened in that time shaped them to what they are now.

Although the Socs have it hard to.The way the Socs have it hard is they didn’t have anybody to have their back really. This means that in reality the Socs get all the breaks but still have it pretty rough. The reason why the Socs might have it as rough is because they don’t have the brotherly love like the Greasers do. The reason why the Greasers have it harder is because the Greasers think that the Socs have all this money and nice things but in reality things like that don’t lead to happiness. The reason why their thoughts about the Socs having all the breaks is wrong is because they aren’t in the Socs perspective and don.t see what the Socs have been through. But this is wrong because the Socs have it easier than the Greasers do because the Socs had it easier and at least had a better childhood. But the real reason why the Greasers have it worse is because the Socs liked to jump a Greasers which wasn't fair because u can’t just jump someone who doesn’t have a chance.

Concluding Paragraph

As it is stated that all people who have things handed to them become lazy but the people when struggle in life like the greasers have it “Rough all over” in the end. It states that the socs have troubles but the Greasers have it the Worse because of their background. It shows that the only real thing that the Greasers had was each other. It shows that their past and childhood has shaped them into what they are today. That’s the reason why they had it bad was because of their torn up past like bad neighborhood, parents and even education. In conclusion the real reason why they have it worse is because in the end the Socs will still be on top even though the Greasers won a couple of times that’s just how it ends.
