Imagine how it would feel being thrown in the bottom of a boat with hundreds of other people, piled on top of each other and shipped like merchandise across the Atlantic ocean. Many Africans were a part of the triangular trade. The first stop of the triangle trade was from Europe to Africa. There, they traded small things for slaves. The next stop was from Africa to the New World. There, the slaves were sold to American colonies or the Caribbean. After the new world, they washed the ships down and loaded them with goods to ship back to Europe with things like sugar, rum and molasses. Once the slaves were sold to their new owners they were brought back to the owners workplace to start working.

Once the slaves were hauled off the ship they were stripped of their clothing, rinsed down and displayed for purchase. There was one flaw with plan, slaves did not want to work for white people. Slaves would try to run away from the farm, or factory they worked at but many got caught. Being a slave as a woman, child, or man was equally bad. Some women were raped by their owner, and the children were often sold across the states. Being a man slave, you would have countless hours of brutal work everyday, seven days a week. If you disobeyed your owner, the most common punishment would be being whipped. Some owners were nicer than others, but the majority of slave owners were extremely horrific to their slaves.
Slaves were permanently damaged physically and emotionally for the rest of their lives because of the things done to them by their owners. Slaves were a breathing, working, object to their owners. They were supposed to do what they were told and nothing else. Slaves were not a human to their owners, they were property because they were bought to do
