Going to classes is a problem I face every day. Sometimes I won’t go to classes at all for a day. The reason for me skipping classes could be explained on an emotional and behavioral level but I’m going too stick to behavioral. It can be categorized into multiple reasons but I’m going to stick to four. One being motivation. Motivation is the desire to do something. Second is stress. Stress is pressured cause by events on one’s emotions, immune system and brain. Third is learning. Or the way I obtain knowledge and information for the outside. And last is social psychology. Social psychology is the study of how people’s thoughts, feelings, and actions are affected by others. Using these four categories I will state the behavioral problems that make me skip classes.
Motivation is the desire or willingness for someone to do something. As you would expect that since I’m not willing to go to classes my motivation must be low. But I think it’s the opposite. I believe it is the cognitive motivation approach. The cognitive motivation approach is the results of one’s beliefs, expectations and goals. For example, how motivated one is to study based on the expectations of the grades they will receive. Now how does that apply to me skipping my classes. I believe that the low motivation is set by how

The stress the classes cause me. The learning style I use and the learning styles my classes use and how they’re different than mine. And lastly how my social behaviors affect it to. Due to these four categories I can show why I skip my classes and my reasoning behind skipping. Some are pure laziness and some are have good reasoning behind them but in the long don’t help me. While I still manage to keep up with my classes and teach myself. I won’t always have this option in the long run. Not only would classes help expand my friend group and help find people I can study with, but it will also help me get used to the professors teaching
Number one rule in the book is “go to class always.” Many students used to go to school because their parents force them to. However, in college, students have the choice to attend the class or not. Some courses don’t have attending policy, so they won’t count students who where absent. This makes student feel more freely to whether attend class or not. Students usually skip classes because they pretend that they are tired or they want to go to a shopping mall. It is very easy to skip a class and give excuses, such as I was in the hospital, I made an accident, or I need to study for a final exam. After skipping a class, students go and take notes from other students who attended and class and copy them. However, this will affect them in their exams because they won’t get high grade as students who attend classes.
Are teachers enforcing discipline mechanisms in a healthy way for children? Researchers would answer no to this question because of one major factor: removing recess from a child’s school day. In Jessica Lahey’s article, “Students Who Lose Recess Are the Ones Who Need It Most”, she states that “schools continue to take away recess privileges as a penalty for academic or behavioral transgressions”. Many teachers follow this procedure because they assume that they are teaching the child how to act with appropriate behaviors. However, it is a proven fact that eliminating a student’s recess results in a negative outcome. Therefore, recess should not be removed from a child’s school day because this recreation plays a role in their physical health,
When looking at attending class from the perspective of a college student it should hopefully be easy to understand why you should attend. For most students the answer would consist of something along the lines of ‘to better educate myself’ or ‘so I can get a better paying job’, both of which seem plausible. However, those from past generations and those with different demographics might look at this question much differently, due to a college education not always being a necessity to become successful in life. Therefore older generations may have looked at skipping class in a different light than a 20 year-old would today. With much higher stakes to do well in both primary and higher education courses causes cutting class to carry great risk
The thesis of Class Dismissed is about how the working class people on television are portrayed. Many people wanted to be part of a particular social class. The programs in the Class Dismissed changed people’s perception of certain groups. For example, The Jefferson’s , is about how a black man grows his business and become successful. From watching the film I never thought how TV shows frames us. Now, as I think back to watching certain shows like The Cosby show, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The George Lopez, The Hughley’s, My Wife and Kids, and The Bernie Mac Show they all are working class people who are successful. However, Good times, is another show that I have watched, although Good times the family are still living in the projects,
What is motivation? According to text, motivation is defined as a set of factors that activate, direct, and maintain behavior, usually toward a certain goal. Motivation is the energy that makes us do things: this is a result of our individual needs being satisfied so that we have inspiration to complete the mission. These needs vary from person to person as everybody has their individual needs to motivate themselves. Depending on how motivated we are, it may further determine the effort we put into our work and therefore increase the standard of the productivity. There have been a wide variety of theories about motivation developed over the years. Several are drive-reduction theory, arousal theory, psychosocial (both incentive and cognitive) theory, and Maslow’s H...

Walkout; what is a Walkout? According to the website Dictionary.com, it defines the term walkout as “the act of leaving or being absent from a meeting, especially as an expression of protest”. Some people may say it is an act of retaliation, and others may say it is standing up for what you believe in. A walkout it is not only an act of leaving, it is a form of expression. People who are involved in a walkout bring attention or raise awareness for a certain issue that is taking place. That’s what happened in 1968. A group of East Los Angeles students walked out, in order to have their goals met by the L.A.U.S.D School District, which was, a better education for the Latino community.
Taking seemingly unrelated classes present great opportunities to learn and surpass what ever limits, goals, or expectations of education a person sets for himself. Taking these classes lead to a better understanding and outlook of different ideas, ways of thinking as well as situations in the work field and in life. Being required to participate in courses outside of one's major can really develop a person and help them better understand themselves and the world around them. Taking extra classes in college would inevitably help an individual in the future regardless if he or she believes it is of no advantage at the moment. It can also increase employment opportunities once a student finishes college.
The behavior I would like to modify is the level of my procrastination. Procrastination was the first thing that came to my mind as something that I wanted to try to change. I push majority of the things I have to do until the day before it is due, making excuses and thinking to myself that it can wait and does not have to be done now, or there are important things to do or that think to myself that I can do something else at the time. My goal is to eliminate or decrease the level of procrastinating.

According to Greenberg (1999), motivation is defined “as a process of arousing, directing and maintaining behavior towards a goal.” Where “directing” refers to the selection of a particular behavior; and ‘maintenance” refers to the inclination to behave with consistency in that manner until the desired outcome is met.
Currently there are many students tried to go to college and finish their degree. But some students don’t know what they should do in college and how to avoid the failure in classes. The failure will happen if you have no real goal or plan to finish it.
In like manner, if students become apathetic about attending school, they will reap the consequences of a poor education and, in turn, will not attain a degree. Hence, the question arises, why are they [students] not attending school? Though, the explanation may not be a simplistic one, some jump to the bias conclusion that these particular students are delinquents or quite frankly despise school, but, the issue may be more complex that that. In the case of such apathy towards school, bullying could be the culprit. In addition, clothing choices may or may not have something to do with said bullying. In this case, uniforms could greatly improve attendance records due to the roadblock they place between issues at school, such as bullying, and lack of
