Rule 1: You are your own success, no one will meet you half way. Whether you are committing yourself to your job, family, career or playing sports, it is important to exert yourself. The value of commitment pays off since it will inspire others to commit themselves to their daily lives. As for myself, I made a commitment to complete my education and gain my bachelor degree in four years. For years, it has been my goal to obtain an Associate degree. I’ve motivated myself and received my A.A. degree in two years. Once I have acquired it, I decided to continue to get a bachelor degree. I’ve often reminded myself that is my responsibility to gain my success. Rule 2: Respect yourself and others or self-worth will slowly dwindle. Respecting yourself and others is honoring to be considerate of others. Respecting yourself is priority and from there you earn respect. I respect myself and others, by this I have family and friends that respect me for what I practice. My dad who was employed as a Chapter Coordinator assisted many people with their finances and …show more content…
My grandmother’s place was in a rural area where she had no electricity or running water. I did my best to entertain myself around her place and I definitely got home sick. There was no vehicle to take me home, since my grandmother did not drive. I had to wait a week to get back to my hometown. I made the decision to go to my grandmother’s because I assumed my cousin’s will be there too. But in this case, their spring break was the week after. I was upset with my parent about what had happened, but they told me it was my decision to spend a week with my grandmother. And in the future, I should always sure made a choice that I would be happy with. I shouldn’t make assumptions and obtain the facts prior making a decision. I learned to take accountability for my actions. I feel this is one of the reasons to why I would analyze a
Respect is a such a simple concept and a virtue that should be simple to follow. It means treating other people and animals in a dignified manner. Respect doesn’t mean that people need to hug everyone they come across or hold their opinion higher than everyone elses. Respect means treating others as equals and acknowledging that as human
Proper respect for others begins by a person respecting their self. Respect is developed by expressing honor, leadership, value, and trust in a person. If everyone respects everyone someday, the world will become a seventh heaven. It is important to be respectful for safety, to abide by the law, because children are influenced by their elders’ actions, and because God says so. Motivation from peers can help a person realize there is always room to improve the level of respect a person exhibits. Respect was, is, and always will be a positive attribute for everyone to strive for in their lives.
Commitment, it is being loyal or dedicated to something you love doing. I love being in NJROTC, so I am dedicated to it. Being committed to something helps me stay focus to what I need to do in life. I didn't know what commitment really was until I found something I loved doing and I stick to it. In the future for my goals, I will use commitment to stay on task, stay loyal to what I love, and being dedicated to what I need to
We can act in ways that are considered respectful, yet we can also feel respect for someone and feel respected by someone. Because it is possible to act in ways that do not reflect how we really feel, the feeling of respect is more important than the behavior without the feeling.
Respect shows that one values another as an individual. It should be applied whether you are in the classroom, the playing field or at home. Respect is vital quality that I would habitually present as member of the Suzanne Cory High School Community.
Respect begins with self-respect and then extends to the respect of others. Self-respect occurs only when you listen to yourself and place your opinions and feelings are before others. The more you value yourself, the more you know that you are worth something. The more you listen to your feelings and opinions, the more you know that you are worth something. Self-respect is an important value because its absence reduces self-confidence. If you do not value your emotions or outlook, then who will?
Because being respectful is important to me, I attempt to demonstrate this in how I live my life and in the way I treat other people. I attempt to show my respectful nature in everything that I do. Whether its a simple gesture like opening the door for people behind me, I realize that this level of respect is appreciated and needed in this world. I demonstrate respect by staying courteous and by displaying kindness in all of my endeavors. Today we live in a world that lacks the respect of past generations and we are suffering because of it.
Respect is a positive feeling shown towards someone or something considered important, or held in high esteem or regard as it conveys a sense of admiration for good or valuable qualities. This debatable concept of whether respect must be earned or not is explored in “The Fight” by Richard Wright and in “The Confrontation” by Raymond Barrio. Even though some support exists for the struggle for respect being freely given, more evidence supports respect being earned by oneself because it gets one point across and respect cannot be given unless it is earned.
Respect for yourself is very important to a person because it can be the balancing factor of your life. If a person has no respect for themselves the will most likely go into depression. Respecting yourself is also important for your self-esteem. Having a high self-esteem means that people might laugh at you, make fun of you, and yet you don’t get angry or upset because you know you are better than what they say you are. You must be able to hold your head high and be proud of what you do. Respecting yourself also means taking care of your body. It can be the simple things such as brushing your teeth, washing your hands, and exercising. There are many other factors that might fall into the respecting yourself category, but respecting others is important as well.
My final point being, not only does respect reflect on your image; it can also influence others in positive ways such as when Flore fixed the clothes for Bernice, Bernice respected Flore. I personally think that when there is respect between two individuals they listen to each other and help each other out, this provides a positive flow in the society. As I said before without respect there would be no humanity, and this world be chaos place. I ask every individual today to try to be respectful and see what he or she can achieve, while being respectful. When you start respecting people you will have more friends, and everyone would love and care for you. Respect also doesn’t come from one individual it has to come from both individuals, so be the bigger person and respect that individual first.
Integrity is the quality of being honest. When you are honest about something or a certain situation you are considered a person of integrity. Also when you have integrity you have strong moral principles. When you have strong moral principles you know what is right and what is wrong. “Having integrity means doing the right thing in a reliable way. It's a personality trait that we admire, since it means a person has a moral compass that doesn't waver. It literally means having "wholeness" of character, just as an integer is a "whole number" with no fractions.” Furthermore, having integrity is a quality that many strive to have because it often means that you are a good person.
Respect is when you have a deep feeling towards someone or something elicited by their abilities. People who have this type of person is always strong willed and gains liking from mostly everyone around them. People can gain the respect of people with integrity by doing the same things they do. Things like not stealing, getting your job done, waiting for breaks to do personal stuff, and things like that.respect are always nice and outgoing.
Respect shows the value of others. It is a sense of worth or value to another person. It is often nowadays that people show no value to their fellow man. Respect is a huge part of common decency. Respect can help foster a more peaceful environment.
I do have to admit that sometimes this can be extremely difficult and may leave one feeling a bit vulnerable. Commitment is the ability to take a risk and to accept the possibility of disappointment or pain. Again, I have to agree that commitment can be demanding, but to look on the bright side, it can also be rewarding. To be able to stay in ...

Being able to give someone your respect can also grant you with respect in return. Being respectful can also have an effect on your personality. It can help determine how you interact around others. The quality of respect has components to help others relate if you are a rude person or a kind one. In the late 1800 's John Stuart mill and Jeremy Bentham established a theory of social justice. Utilitarianism theory consists of moral ethics. The action of doing right and treating others equally maximizes utility and brings happiness to most people. Having respect can bring many positive aspects such as happiness, being happy can bring happiness to others around you that is an essential to solving problems that reduces conflict with one another.
