About Mount Abu
Mount Abu is a famous and only hill station in the state of Rajasthan. It is located in the district of Sirohi
at a height of 1219 m above the sea level. It is often termed as the ‘oasis of Rajasthan’ and is a source of
relief from the heat for the people from both Rajasthan and Gujarat. Guru Shikhar is the highest peak of
Mount Abu at 1722 m altitude. It is one of the best spectacular tourist destinations in India offering its
scenic beauty to more than three million international and national tourists every year. Wide and dense
forests, deep valleys, lush green hills, and ancient and royal temples form the essence of Mount Abu.
It is a host of lakes, waterfalls and other water bodies covered with dense forests forming an elegant
vista for the tourists. Mount Abu is rich in flora and fauna, famous for its wildlife sanctuary, and also a
prominent pilgrimage center. The natural and man-made beauties of Mount Abu make it the wonder of
north-west India and hill of wisdom.
Mount Abu is considered to be the origin of the Gurjars. The Gurjars migrated from the Arbuda
mountain and they setup a new kingdom in Rajasthan and Gujarat. Earlier Mount Abu was called
Arbudaanchal. According to the Puranas, it was called as Forest of Arbhuda (Arbudaranya) and later
modified as Abu, a diminutive of Arbhudaranya. Mythology says that Lord Shiva’s bull, Nandi was saved
by a serpent named Arbudha at Mount Abu. Another epic says that great sage Vashistha retired at
southern spur of Mount Abu after his differences with Sage Vishvamitra.

The conquest of Arab dynasties and Turkish people paved the way to enter Islam into Central Asia and its wider spreading. Initially the Arab dynasty, Umayyad caliphate stepped into the central Asia with the intension of conquering and establishing the bases in the mid of seventh century. This was considered as the first Muslim colonization (Esposito 21). Consequently the Arab armies established themselves in the delta of Indus River, which is situated in the Northwest of the India in the beginning of 8th century. It was named with an Arabic name ‘Sindh’ (Metcalf 3). Even though there were indigenous people by the means of time they converted into Muslims with the emergence of local kingdoms. Along with the Arabic conquest, another wave of conquest hit the India by strengthening the spread of Islam in 11th century. It was spearheaded by Turkish conqueror Muhammad of Ghor (Metcalf 6). They established a large territory with organized government named Delhi Sultanate. Conquerors used the stage for the conversion to Islam with the help of ruling class. They persuade the Hindus into Muslims by attacking many Hindu temples, building shrines on the sites of Hindu temples and re-stating the Hindu stories with Muslim characters thus they can create suitable environment set for the existence of Islam. Yet some readers may challenge this assertion that forcing and persuading were the means that was adapted by Turkish conquerors to spread Islam, but the style of mosques that built in that period is being witness for the transformation of Hindu temple into Mosques (). Besides the conquerors the Muslim traders admitted themselves for the expansion of Islam in India.
I decided to research about Khedive Ismail as it will be a great chance for me to know more about the history of my country that I know a few about. It is not closely related to my project. I think a gigantic funerary mosque of white marble, built in Agra by order of the Mogul emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife, the Taj Mahal is the most perfect jewel of Moslem art in India and is one of the universally admired architectures of the world’s heritage. Not only see the beautiful Taj Mahal from the video, I also knew the history of itself and its country. A white marble tomb sums up many of the formal themes that have played through Islamic architecture. The video did talk a lot of how much Shah Jahan himself and his father loved art and made many gorgeous artworks. Taj Mahal’s refined style is a conspicuous contrast to the Hindu architecture of pre-Islamic India, with its thick walls, arches, and heavy supports. Even though Taj Mahal is the symbol of grief and sadness, it still has it beauty looks from marble and sand stone.
Sri Lanka’s physical geography has some similarities throughout the country, but there is also a great deal of diversity. Sri Lanka consists of, “Three zones are distinguishable by elevation: the Central Highlands, the plains, and the costal belt” (Ross & Savada, 1988, p. 61). Taj Mahal. ( Mahal is the word in urdu language used for Palace) How can I describe The Taj Mahal? You can’t its impossible. You just have to experience it. To gaze in wonder at that magnificent dome and elegant gardens will be a moment that you remember for the rest of your life. The minarets were now stark against the setting sun . The actual dome was a surprise, it is not yellow-white but blue-white and covered in inscriptions and detail. From below it looked like something out of "Arabian Nights." But inside were the tombs of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan. Love is blind, it can happen anywhere, anytime, and with anyone. At the age of 18, I experienced my first love, but we were apart. I think Taj Mahal changed peoples view of love, and made peoples bond intense. Love is magical, it just happens and you don’t even realize it until something is taken away from you.
