Micro Environment: The micro environment consists of the factor of the firm’s initial environment, these are
• Suppliers
• Marketing intermediaries
• Competitors
• Customers and the public
Macro Environment: The macro environment consists of larger societal forces that affect all the factors in the company’s micro environment. Examples of Macro-environment are
• Demographic
• Market globalisation
• Economic, “credit crunch” and economic recession
• Natural disaster and International terrorism
• Technological, Internet
• Political and Cultural forces
Each is both an opportunity and a threat e.g.: terrorism is a threat to the airline industry but an opportunity to the security industry.

Environmental – External environmental factors are forces or trends that can affect a business whether it is an opportunity, threat, or constraint. They can be divided into three interrelated subcategories of remote, industry, and operating environments. The remote environment includes factors beyond a company’s operating situation such as the economic, social, political, technological, and ecological factors. The industry environment includes factors that have more of a direct influence on a company’s business such as entry barriers, competitor rivalry, the availability of substitutes, and the bargaining power of buyers and suppliers.
This paper aimed to show how both macroeconomics and microeconomics plays a role in the overall success of an organization. The key decisions confronting the firm right from inception to operation to growth are themes business, economics can explore and which are useful for entrepreneurs and business leaders. With increasing globalization, the fact that firms now operate in a global arena means that they must have the knowledge of how macroeconomic trends affect macroeconomic decisions.
Business environment includes the internal as well as external factors that affect the operation of a business. Therefore, business environment is the sum total of the forces or the surroundings that have an influence on the business operations. The internal environmental factors are usually controllable because the management has control over it. Whereas the external environmental factors are difficult to control by the company. There are two types of external environment: Microenvironment and Macro environment.
A firm?s external environment is divided into three major areas : the general, industry and competitor environments. Below is an elaboration in further detail regarding the firm?s opportunities and threats in these three environments.
The components of the macro environment are the political-legal environment, the economic environment, the socio-cultural environment, and the technological environment in which Euro Disney operates.

Institutions and organizations are usually in a position of controlling their internal business environment. By doing so, they gain the ability of affecting their institutional performance. On the contrary, it is difficult for a business to control the external environment; however, businesses can identify in advance the opportunities and threats presented by the external environment and take decisive actions to ensure its continued success (Jain, Trehan & Trehan, 2009; Goyal & Goyal, 2009).
There are six primary micro environmental factors that usually influence Boots’ business activities, each of the microenvironment factors consists within itself a self-contained micro environment that is alone but allows interaction between other micro environments. The six primary micro environmental factors are divided into two groups one which directly impacts Boots’ and the other that doesn’t.
