Sociology is the study of human society, social relationships, and social problems. This makes the subject relatable in some aspects. A lot of the topics talked about are ones that I can relate back to personally. Some of the topics in this subject I am able to relate to would be living together before marriage, having a sibling, how media has affected young women, drug abuse in the family, and adoption. Living together before marriage is controversial topic in society today. There is a lot of belief that this can ruin a relationship and causes marriage between the couple to be less likely. A lot of times there is a lot of negativity drawn towards couples living together before marriage and sometimes makes people hesitate to do it. I have some personal experience with living together before marriage because I have lived with my boyfriend of over three years for more than a year now. Drug abuse in the family can affect the parents, children, and siblings in family in a negative way. There are many problems that it can cause. In a lot of cases the abusers wont admit they have a problem and will refuse to get help. When family members become addicted to drugs it causes them to rely on other people for everything, they lose jobs, stay away from home, and start to only care about the drugs. I have first hand experience with drug abuse in the family. My biological mother is a drug addict and has been since she was a teenager. This has affected my family in so many ways. Her addiction caused her to lie constantly and she has always been in and out of my life. She has always chosen drugs over my sister and I. This hurts us in a million different ways. She has stole and taken from my family her whole life just for drugs. It has affected me mentally and emotionally and has made me feel unloved and like I was not good enough for
