The horrible things Dr. Josef Mengele has done in his life would make most people cringe. Josef Mengele was a German officer and Physician at the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War 2. He is famous for his experimentation of prisoners particularly on patients with disabilities, twins, or pregnant women that often had no medical reason at all and were preformed merely for self-enjoyment. Mengele also was in charge of deciding who would go into the concentration camps to work and who would be killed immediately. Mengele left Auschwitz before the Soviets took it over and he fled to South America where he lived the rest of his life hiding from persecution of his war crimes. His terrible crimes are remembered to this very day because of how extreme they were.
Josef Mengele was born on March 16, 1911 in Germany to a family with two younger brothers. His father started a farm machinery company. After High School, Mengele went to college in Munich where he studied science. While in Munich, Mengele joined an anti-Semitic military group in 1931. This group joined with another group to form the Nazi party. After his years in Munich he furthered his college education in Frankfurt where he studied genetics, mostly focusing on twins and physical deformities like clef lips. His research and papers in college earned him many honors.
In 1938 Josef received his military training and in 1940 he was called up for military services. He volunteered for the medical branch of the army and soon became a second lieutenant doctor. While stationed in Ukraine he has awarded numerous awards for saving lives. He was injured in action in 1942 and after that was declared unfit for battle. ...alse name, working as a carpenter and a salesman. He even ventured back to Europe to visit some relatives. After Argentina in the 1970s Mengele moved to Brazil where he would end up drowning because of a stroke in the water. The authorities never found him and put him on trial.
Dr. Josef Mengle is one of the most infamous Nazis ever. His war crimes and brutality are almost unparalleled. In our class book “Night”, author Elie Wiesel mentions Mengele as a horrible person who takes pleasure in what he does. Mengele is the kind of human who only comes around every once in a long time. He is the kind of man whose hatred is remembered forever. The kind of man we should educate our selves about if we truly want to understand the holocaust and its legacies. Josef Mengele did terrible things and only if we study them and understand them will we learn how to get past them.
In Auschwitz: A Doctor’s Eyewitness Account, Dr. Miklos Nyiszli tells the story of his time in Auschwitz. Dr. Nyiszli is a Jewish survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp located in Poland. His story provides the world with a description of horrors that had taken place in camp in 1944. Separated from his wife and daughter, Dr. Nyiszli volunteered to work under the supervision of the head doctor in the concentration camp, Josef Mengele. It was under Dr. Mengele’s supervision that Dr. Nyiszli was exposed to the extermination of innocent people and other atrocities committed by the SS. Struggling for his own survival, Dr. Nyiszli did anything possible to survive, including serving as a doctor’s assistant to a war criminal so that he could tell the world what happened at the Auschwitz concentration camp. This hope for survival and some luck allowed Dr. Nyiszli to write about his horrific time at Auschwitz. His experiences in Auschwitz will remain apart of history because of the insight he is able to provide.
Dr. Nyiszli was a Jewish survivor of the Auschwitz concentration camp survivor which was located in Poland. Reading his story provided me and the rest of the world with a description of the horrors that took place in the concentration camp in 1944. Being separated from his wife and daughter, Dr. Nyiszli volunteered to work under the supervision of the head doctor at the concentration camp which was Josef Mengele. Being a Jew and a medical doctor, he was spared death to do worst then a death, to perform scientific research on his fellow inmates with the infamous “Angel of Death”- Dr. Josef Mengele. Dr. Nyiszli was named Mengele’s personal research pathologist. In that capacity he also served as physician to the Sonderkommando, the Jewish prisoners who worked exclusively in the crematoriums and were routinely executed after four months. There were several thoughts that ran my mind after reading Dr.

Simon Wiesenthal: The Nazi Hunter. There are many heroic individuals in history that have shown greatness during a time of suffering, as well as remorse when greatness is needed, but one individual stood out to me above them all. He served as a hero among all he knew and all who knew him. This individual, Simon Wiesenthal, deserves praise for his dedication to his heroic work tracking and prosecuting Nazi war criminals that caused thousands of Jews, Gypsies, Poles and other victims of the Holocaust to suffer and perish. The Life of a Holocaust Victim The effect the Holocaust had on Wiesenthal played a major role in the person he made himself to be.
The Holocaust was one of the greatest tragedies the world has ever known. There were many key people who participated in this outrageous genocide however some get more attention then others. Adolf Eichmann is a classic example. Eichmann was a self-proclaimed “Jewish Specialist” and head of the Gestapo Department. Eichmann was responsible for keeping every train rolling right into the stations of the concentration and death camps during the holocaust. Now we will take a look into Eichmann’s childhood, life experiences, and his later actions to see what shaped into a man of hatred towards the Jewish race.
... Hans Munch made false reports to save the lives of many Jews and help their diseases. Dr. Mengele did just the opposite. His famed experiments and treatments are still talked about today. The holocaust was a devastating event that killed millions of innocent Jews; and the doctors that were responsible for treating them many times only used them for their own experiments and medical projects.
Over 3,000 twin children were killed by Josef Mengele. A Holocaust twin survivor shares their accounts during the Holocaust. She says”my brother had multiple experiments, ranging from amputations to body part transplants.” She never saw her brother every again after these tragic. Such cruelty is unimaginable in some peoples eyes. This was not to Josef Mengele, these events can truly express who Dr. Mengele was as a person. These tragic occurrences come in a wide range of danger whether its from body experiments to biomedical testing. While Josef Mengele participated in the Nazi Genocide, one can see the tragic events that he created.

Ordinary men have the capacity to commit extraordinary crimes and on April 11, 1961, Adolf Eichmann an ordinary looking man faced trial for the murder of five million Jews. Adolf Eichmann served in the Nazi party as their expert on Jewish matters. During the Nuremberg trials that took place years before Eichmann’s trial, many witnesses testified to the control Eichmann had over the implementation of the final solution. SS Captain Wisliceny worked under Eichmann in Hungary in 1944 and he proclaimed that Eichmann said, “he would jump into his grave laughing, because of the feeling that he had five million people on his conscience, gave him extraordinary satisfaction’” (48). Also, Eichmann worked with the members of Jewish councils, and they claimed in earlier trials that he had a direct hand in the “Jewish Question” (49). With a heavy list of witness accounts and facts to proof that Eichmann committed the crimes, he did not face his day in court till many years later and that appeared to be fine with most

Josef Mengele wasn't always a bad guy. During his childhood Mengele grew up in a Catholic family with both parents and two brothers, he being the oldest of the three. Shortly after his birth in 1911 his father became sole owner of a foundry that made farm equipment in Germany. His family became wealthy as the business prospered and they became the most powerful family in their town. While young Mengele was growing up, his parents were frequently absent due to the family business. But he expressed his desire to stand out from other members of his family and become successful in his own way, not involving the family business. Josef was a very excellent student. His favorite subject was anthropology, the study of the origin, development, and behavior of humankind. He abandoned the Catholic Church when he was a teenager and became a member of a patriotic young people's group ( “Josef Mengele.” Student Resources in Context ).
Hitler was born April 20, 1889 in the Austrian town Braunau am Inn. He was the fourth of six children, all belonging to Alois Hitler and Klara Polzl. Hitler was baptized as a Roman Catholic. After being enrolled in school, young Adolf excelled in school, promising a bright future. When it came time to decide what secondary school he was going to go into, Hitler dreamed of becoming an artist, however Hitler’s father wanted him to follow in his footsteps as a civil servant. While in technical high school in Linz, Austria, Hitler struggled, being held back his first two years. All while failing his schoolwork, Adolf did learn one thing- his newfound admiration of German Nationalism.
The final and most plausible theory is that Hitler and his lackeys escaped on a U-boat to Argentina. There have been several books and documentaries dedicated to this theory. The authors of the novel “Grey Wolf; The Escape of Adolf Hitler” insist that Hitler and his wife escaped the bunker in Germany via a tunnel. Two other people committed suicide in their places. Nazis were also protected by the country of Argentina. According to The Sun, “Argentina was the main haven for Nazi war criminals. Men like Mengele and Eichmann were protected by the Argentine State.”
