Food is a virtual part in helping our bodies grow big and strong without us digesting food our living organisms would stop growing inside us. The living cells in our body double after digesting food from our body. It would help your body if you eat healthy foods for example, Nuts, strawberries, brown rice or chicken. The more fatty foods you eat the less it will help you on your growth. This is why it is important for a baby to be getting the right types of food into its body.

The six classes of nutrients are Protein, Carbohydrates, Fat, Vitamins, Minerals and Water.
The function of Protein in the body is to help repair and help build muscles in your body. The protein is broken down into amino acids which are building

Sources off food that are high in Carbohydrates are bananas, oranges, and potatoes. The more whole grain and fruit you eat the better for your body as these types of food are full of fibre and help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.
The functions of fat is an energy source to the body. When eating foods with fat content in the food it increases the absorption of fat soluble vitamins which includes the vitamins A, D, E and K. around twenty to thirty-five percent of your daily intake should come from fats. You should try and eat healthy fats such as Fish, Walnuts and vegetable based oils. Only take small amounts of saturated fats such as a fillet steak or Cheddar cheese.
The Functions of vitamins are to help blood vessels, bones and ligaments. Vitamin C is a vital source of helping blood vessels, bones and ligaments. Good sources of vitamins come in foods such as Strawberries, Blackberries and Peppers. Pregnant women should take vitamins to help their body a vitamin such as folic acid would be a good source for them. Other Vitamins such as Vitamin D helps to maintain calcium homeostasis. This source of vitamins can be found from the sunshine from the

Lipids are in all different types of foods, some foods may have more lipids then others such as fish, meat and dairy. Lipids provide vital functions to the body such as cell membranes and transporting nutrients into your bloodstream.

Saturated fats are normally saturated at room temperature. Most of the time they come from animals such as beef or poultry, cheese and butter. They also come in plant sources such as coconut and palm kernel oils. Saturated fats are bad for blood cholesterol as it will raise it up. Saturated fats are also associated risk with developing cardiovascular disease. Try don’t go over eating more than seven percent saturated fat content in your daily calories.
(Healthy Eating | SF Gate, 2015)
Monounsaturated fat is the healthiest type of dietary fat. Monounsaturated fats are stable for high temperatures so this is why people use them for cooking as it is a healthier way for cooking. Monounsaturated fat is a double bonded carbon. It will be liquid when it is in room temperature but when it is in a cooled placed with a chill it will turn back hard and into a solid. An example for this would be olive oil. When you are eating a healthy diet in is important that you get some fat in your diet. Fats will help the body absorb vitamins into the body such as vitamins A, D, E and K. Monounsaturated fats help keep your heart healthy by reducing the cholesterol in your system.
Nutritionism and Today’s Diet Nutritionism is the ideology that the nutritional value of a food is the sum of all its individual nutrients, vitamins, and other components. In the book, “In Defense of Food” by Michael Pollan, he critiques scientists and government recommendations about their nutritional advice. Pollan presents a strong case pointing out the many flaws and problems that have risen over the years of following scientific studies and government related warnings on the proper amount of nutrients needed for a healthy diet. Pollan’s main point is introducing science into our food system has had more of a negative impact than a positive one, we should go back to eating more of a traditional diet. I believe food science has given us
Michael Pollan makes arguments concerning the eating habits of the average American. Pollan suggests, in spite of our cultural norms, we should simply “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly Plants.”
I think that fat is both good and bad. Eating fat can give us energy. Although, if too much fat is consumed it may cause health problems. We all need fat. It surrounds our muscles. The fat is intimately connected with the muscle. This is called the adipose tissue. This tissue has the ability to communicate with other parts in our body. It provides our muscles with energy. But, if too much fat is consumed, it will start to build up and cause problems including obesity and major health problems like a heart
There are nine amino acids that are considered “essential” for health, which we must obtain from our diets since our bodies cannot make them on their own. Some of the roles that amino acids/proteins have include helping to form and maintain muscle mass, providing energy for our cells and brain, helping store away energy for later use in fat stores, making your heart beat, and helping build the foundation of vital organs, including your heart, lungs and even your DNA, and supporting growth/development. Because of its ties to lean muscle mass and satiety in terms of controlling your appetite, protein is especially important as you age.
The 13 well-identified vitamins are classified according to their ability to be absorbed in fat or water. The fat-soluble vitamins-A, D, E, and K-are generally consumed along with fat-containing foods, and because they can be stored in the body's fat, they do not have to be consumed every day. The water-soluble vitamins-the eight B vitamins and vitamin C-cannot be stored and must be consumed frequently, preferably every day (with the exception of some B vitamins, as noted below).
Even though their process in achieving weight loss and good health are in complete contrast; researchers found that each of the diets accomplish the same results. Starting with each diet’s idea, low fat diets state that fat is bad for the body they also address that not all fats are dangerous. Low fat dieters actually admit that some fats are needed to stay healthy. The low fat diet does not restrict a person from foods that contain fat. In an online article Choose a Diet low in Fat, Saturated Fat and Cholesterol, it was stated that “Fats supply energy and essential fatty acids and promote absorption of the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K”.
Nutritionism is an ideology that believes that the nutrients in foods are the key to understanding them. Nutritionism believers are so focused on the nutrients that food contains that they forget about all other aspects of food. The problem is that consumers rely on packaging to tell them what nutrients a food provides, since nutrients cannot be obviously seen, and they rely on science to tell us what nutrients are good and which are “evil”.
The omega-3 fatty acids, popularly referred to as fish oil, are considered unsaturated fats. Science differentiates between unsaturated and saturated fats quite clearly. One fact that separates the two is the temperature at which melting occurs. Saturated fats melt at a higher temperature than unsaturated fats. The science behind fatty acids is rather complex; carboxylic acids with long hydrocarbon chains are the building blocks of saturated and unsaturated fats. This is important to the human body for many reasons; one reason being unsaturated fats do not cause plaque build-up in arteries like saturated fats due to their molecular structure in the human blood stream.
Our current globalized food system expands all around the world providing us with food products that are available all year round no matter what season it is or what weather it is or how far away it comes from. While our globalized economy has created many advantages like progressive technology, cultural awareness, availability of product and goods from all around the world, promotion of peace and understanding between countries through import and export as well as more opportunities for individuals and businesses to expand. On the other hand, globalization is the reason for ruined local economies, monopolization of industries, the huge gap between the wealthy and poor, the destruction of individuality and culture as well as the destruction of our environment and the increase of land degradation. Food is a part of every individual, community, land, culture and nation which has been highly effected by the globalized economy through industrialization, transportation, chemicals, technology and media creating a globalized supply chain by leaving a path of mutilated food, land and culture. Food systems all over the world are increasingly become unsustainable, unstable and reliant on global systems which leads to the high rise in food costs, living standards and poverty in developed and undeveloped nations. In order to bring back balance and sustainability into the environment, land and our lives we need to create and live by a framework of an equitable food system that will benefit all living creatures, mother nature, bring social equity and break cultural barriers that will ultimately lead to a peaceful, healthy and sustainable world. Progressively, my framework for a sustainable food system is a community based system which would i...
In terms of why your body needs fats from foods, it uses fat to absorb vitamins. Dietary fats will include saturated as well as unsaturated fats. One type of fat is good for your body and one isn't great at all. This is what can be confusing to most people who strive to remove fats from their diet when they're trying to lose weight.
There are many more lipids than I have mentioned in my research paper, there are over a 100 know lipids. Lipids are very important for our body and cells and they carry out many function. They provide nutrients for our body. Lipids are a category of nutrients. Lipids consist of fats, oils, and waxes and are very important for are body’s health. Lipids are important for the human body because they are for storing energy, they’re good at storing energy because they can concentrate a group of calories in a smaller area. Lipids are also used to make soaps, detergents and waxes. These are things that we use in every day life.
Nutrient dense foods complement your diet very well. They serve as your nutrients for the day and therefore are needed daily. I believe I am currently eating nutrient dense foods. About 7% of my fat came from saturated fat; that is half my fat that I consumed each day. Granola bars have peanut which contains saturated fat. That is the only saturated fat that I consumed in this course of time. That is the exact amount of saturated fat that someone of my age should consume.
All of these substances serve one purpose or another when consumed into the body. Carbohydrates, for example, are broken down in the body to provide energy for the body to perform reactions and to regain stamina. Protein helps muscles to recover stronger than before as well as help skin and hair cells to develop. Some substances, such as fat and sugar, can be misinterpreted as being harmful to the body. However, fats and sugars are vital to the human body and without them certain processes within the body could not take place ("What's In Food", Nutriti...
Eating healthy should be done every day, or on a regular basis, it is also good for dieting. It is an important part of the body’s wellbeing. Balancing the amount of food intake with high calories can lower obesity of such. Healthy eating is an important thing in today’s society, but the main thing that is hindering a person from doing so is the fact that the stores are pack with food that have very high calories. In fact, eating healthy is not just following a strict set of dieting tricks, it is about what is being put in the body, and it is also about how much is being put into the body. It doesn’t matter how healthy the food is, sometime to most of the time the healthiest food contain some of the most fattening ingredients. People should think about what they are eating. Even though people show
People is always asking: “Why is important to have a balanced diet? Why is necessary to have a balanced diet on a daily basis? And why do professionals tend to recommend a balanced diet?” The human being has essential needs to its existence: breathing, feeding, and keeping the body in constant movement. The majority of the people are aware of this, but they do not have a balance among these things and even more important they do not eat the adequate food to keep their body healthy. Food is one of the most important factors because it gives the energy the body needs daily. In other words, few words food is the fuel that provides glucose, which is carried to each cell of the body through the bloodstream. This process is extremely important and this is influenced by the type of food that each person consumes. A balanced diet is important for human beings, and makes reference to a good nutrition with regard to the food they eat; which contains macro nutrients that are carbohydrates, fats, and proteins; these provide energy and basic materials that the body uses to grow and stay healthy.
