One thing that disturbed about this is that Adnan cannot remember what he was doing throughout the day of Hae disappearance, none of the memories that he did day that does not include anything that can help with the case. Adnan told the police that he had a class with Hae. He went to his track practice that afternoon, but he did not see Hae the next two days at school, Thursday and Friday, because the school was close to the intense weather. The Adnan vague memory of what was a normal day, but that affect Adnan in his defense because he was not able to provide his innocent. Jay gives many statements, which one is different than the other one, at the end they eventually put it in a way that people will believe it more. There was a letter that …show more content…
McClain says that saw Adnan in the Woodlawn Public Library at the time that state the contends that he was killing Hae, while the judge did not think that McClain letter was not enough to make this trial different. Other part will be Jay testimony which he state that he will sometimes smoke weed, and they borrowed Adnan car and cellphone for the time on the day that Hae was missing. Jay say that Adnan told him he was planning to kill Lee, and he needs Jay to pick Adnan up after Adnan kill Hae, and helping him to bury Hae body.
This part would be useful to solve the case, but the problem is that every time they ask Jay about that they he will always change some parts of the story. I understand that you cannot remember everything but the parts that he change are crucial in the story for example the part where they put Hae body on the car Jay says that was in a strip club, but her friends Jen say that was in blockbuster, and if you listen further from the pop-cast Jay answer will change after Jen stated that she says blockbuster. Is like something is holding it back or maybe he is doing, there is a high change that Jay is saying the truth and he is holding it because he have bad record with the cops. Adnan can be the murder but what about Jay, he can be the one that manipulates everything under every ones noses, and so far we do not have any idea why Jay will kill Hae, but there are a lot of stuff that jay hide from the cops, he always change the stories, furthermore there is a big change that Jay use Adnan as an escape goat, because he knows about the whole deal of the relationship between Adnan and
Hae.
This reason makes sense because Asia and even a friend of hers claim that they saw and even spoke to Adnan that day and at that time Hae was murdered. This part of the story is when Asia found out Adna was arrested so she wrote him a letter explaining what she remembered about seeing him that day and time. This is from the letter “Im not sure if you remember talking to me in the library january 13’th,but I remember”. This means Adnan is innocent because he was not murdering Hae at the time he was at the library. Therefore Adnan is innocent because Asia’s letters prove that he was at the library at the time Hae was
In Episode 8 of Sarah Koenig’s podcast, Serial, Koenig claims that Jay isn’t a reliable enough source of information for the state to find Adnan guilty of the murder. She argues that there are too many inconsistencies in the story that he has told police over and over, and that there are too many problems in the story that the police use against Adnan.
On the evening of Ms. Heggar¡¦s death she was alone in her house. Eddie Ray Branch, her grandson, testified that he visited his grandmother on the day that she was killed. He was there till at least 6:30 p.m. Lester Busby, her grandnephew, and David Hicks arrived while her grandson was still there and they saw him leave. They then went in to visit with Ms. Heggar. While they were there, Lester repaid Ms. Heggar 80 dollars, which he owed her. They left around 7:15 p.m. and went next door to a neighboring friend¡¦s house. David Hick¡¦s went home alone from there to get something but returned within ten minutes of leaving. Because he was only gone for 5-10 minutes, prosecution theorized TWO attacks on Ms. Heggar because he could not have killed his grandmother during this 5-10 minute period alone. At 7:30 p.m., 15 minutes after the two had left, an insurance salesman called to see Ms. Heggar. He knocked for about 2 or 3 minutes and got no reply. Her door was open but the screen door was closed. Her TV was on. He claimed to have left after about 5 minutes and then he returned the next morning. The circumstances were exactly the same. With concern, he went to the neighbor¡¦s house and called the police. His reasoning for being there was because the grandmother¡¦s family had taken out burial insurance three days before she had died.
When Hae Min Lee disappeared on January 13, 1999, all of her friends (including the subsequently charged killer, Adnan Syed) thought that she moved to California. Hae’s body turned up a few weeks later on February 9, and the police later charged Adnan Syed, her ex-boyfriend with her murder. Jay Wilds, an alleged accomplice to the crime, confessed to the police that he knew that Adnan killed Hae and Adnan tasked him with burying her. The state later used Jay’s testimony as the foundation for their case, even though it contradicted some of the state’s own physical evidence. While Jay’s eyewitness testimony does identify Adnan Syed as Hae Lee’s murderer, it is self-serving and inconsistent, with no physical evidence to corroborate it. Therefore,
based on the story of one witness, Adnan’s friend Jay, who testified that he helped
First of all, if something monumental happens a person remembers the day it happened. In contrast, Adnan didn’t remember January 13. Yet, Jay remembers close to everything which points an arrow in his direction. However, Adnan says he didn’t ask Hae for a ride, but witnesses say he did. We can point that at Adnan for lying, but he may have failed
“Winter lies too long in country towns; hangs on until it is stale and shabby, old and sullen” (“Brainy Quotes” 1). In Edith Wharton’s framed novel, Ethan Frome, the main protagonist encounters “lost opportunity, failed romance, and disappointed dreams” with a regretful ending (Lilburn 1). Ethan Frome lives in the isolated fictional town of Starkfield, Massachusetts with his irritable spouse, Zenobia Frome. Ever since marriage, Zenobia, also referred to as Zeena, revolves around her illness. Furthermore, she is prone to silence, rage, and querulously shouting. Ethan has dreams of leaving Starkfield and selling his plantation, however he views caring for his wife as a duty and main priority. One day, Zeena’s cousin, Mattie Silver, comes to assist the Frome’s with their daily tasks. Immediately, Mattie’s attractive and youthful energy resuscitates Ethan’s outlook on life. She brings a light to Starkfield and instantaneously steals Ethan’s heart; although, Ethan’s quiet demeanor and lack of expression causing his affection to be surreptitious. As Zeena’s health worsens, she becomes fearful and wishes to seek advice from a doctor in a town called Bettsbridge giving Ethan and Mattie privacy for one night. Unfortunately, the night turns out to be a disastrous and uncomfortable evening. Neither Ethan nor Mattie speaks a word regarding their love for one another. Additionally, during their dinner, the pet cat leaps on the table and sends a pickle dish straight to the floor crashing into pieces. To make matters worse, the pickle dish is a favored wedding gift that is cherished by Zeena. Later, Zeena discovers it is broken and it sends her anger over the edge. Furious, Zeena demands for a more efficient “hired girl” to complete the tasks ar...
This then led to Adnan’s parents coming to the school and embarrassing him in front of everybody by yelling at him and dragging him out (Koenig, “The Breakup”). I’m not sure if Adnan was embarrassed, but I know I sure would’ve been. One other example, for this reason, is that Adnan was mad because he thought Hae moved on from him too quickly, like she didn’t even give him another chance for anything. Which is true, at least from what I think. Right after Hae had broken up with Adnan, she started to see this other guy from work, Don (Koenig, “The Breakup”).
There is a common characteristic of a tragic hero that is highlighted by Haemon words, actions, or ideas that examine more closely Creon’s tragic flaws and hubris, which contribute to his downfall. Complex characters like Haemon bring to light other more important character’s traits. Ultimately, Haemon serves to make his words, actions, or ideas call attention to Creon as a tragic hero. Whether confronting him about his leadership skills, many biases, using the citizens of Thebes, and gods to enlighten Creon of his eventual demise. After all, Haemon was a minor character who was written to confront Creon and shed light on how his pride makes him a classic example of a tragic hero.
Also the prime suspect had other charges pending against him such as possession of illegal substances and the homeowner of the vacant crime scene said the man was a recovering addict. During the conversation with the officers Johnson refused to give up his DNA sample. The man profess he had not commit any murders and did not commit any crimes regarding the matter. Officers then compel him to give his DNA sample with a warrant compelling him to follow the order. Moreover, after the crime was committed it was discovered that Johnson try to sell one of the victims’ cell phone. He was trying to get rid of the evidence that could implement him on the crime. Witness came forward to verify this story that Johnson indeed try to sell the cell phone for cash. In addition, witness said that Johnson try to be the pimp of the victims that he was
The dead silence of the Frome household is something that time cannot take back and all roots from one event. Mattie Silver is everything in which Ethan Frome lives for, but after the smash-up with him and her, everything changed. Now, “Ethan’s face[d] [would] break your heart”, Zenobia’s (Zeena) increase in health is a “miracle”, and Mattie is stuck in paralysis (67). The marriage between Ethan and Zeena Frome was slowly falling apart throughout the novel and, although it comes back together in the end, one thing is different. None of the characters gets what the reader hopes for: a happy ending. Through diction, irony, and a progressively somber tone, Edith Wharton uses an outside character to depict the tense condition of the Frome household
Asia says that she saw Adnan in the library that day, Adnan says he can’t remember where he was, Jay changes his story, Jen tells a different story from Jay, and it just keeps going. Adnan has no believable motive. The state says that Adnan hadn’t moved on from Hae and killed her out of pride. This is very hard to believe for several reasons. Adnan had moved on to Nisha and was calling her a lot since her number was saved as number one on his phone. Also, the window of time that Adnan had to pull off the murder was so slim and had no room for error. That means that he would have had to practice the route over and over again. Adnan would have had to be stewing with his emotions and hate toward Hae, but all of his friends never saw him as vindictive or angry leading up to Hae’s disappearance. The only evidence that he could be a psychopath who fooled everyone is the fact that he stole money when his was young from the mosque. People with antisocial personality disorder, more commonly psychopaths, do have trouble with the law when they are young. However, since it is an isolated incident and no one else in his life has described Adnan as violent or causing trouble, I highly doubt he is a psychopath. The motive just isn’t believable enough to convince me that Adnan could have planned and executed the

The apocalyptic writer of the Old Testament and theme relates to Haggai in the rebuilding of the temple. The book of Haggai is the 10th of the Minor or lesser, prophets in the Hebrew bible. The book of Haggai is the shortest of the Hebrew bible consisting of only two chapters. The prophet’s origin centers on the rebuilding of the temple under the leadership of Zerubbabel, a descendant of one of the last Davidic kings of Judah. Historically, Zerubbabel is a Babylon name that means “seed, offspring of Babylon.” Zerubbabel’s presence at the head of the list of returned exiles (Ezra 2:2=Neh. 7:7) suggest that he was born in exile and later in this life returned to Judah/Yehud after the edict of Cyrus allowed the Judean exiles to return to their
