North America and Its Geography The continent of North America has many different geographical features. Each individua country in located on this continent has its own individual characteristics that once combined make up the geography of the entire continent. As one studies the third largest continent on the planet, the different areas of geography that the North America displays become more apparent. The USA is the fourth largest country in the world in terms of area. The different regions the US is separated into are the Interior Lowlands, The Appalachian Mountains, the Atlantic Plains, the Western Cordillera, and the Western Intermontane (Lewis et al, 2018). These areas all have many various forms and features inside of each region, so many that they created and divided them in twenty-four sub regions, otherwise known as provinces.
