Fantasy football is an exploding phenomenon in America. With over 75 million Americans taking part, and companies specializing in the game making in excess of over $1 billion dollars in revenue; there is no doubt that its popularity is here to stay. Fantasy football is a game where you join a league and draft a team comprised of NFL players. During the season your team scores points based on the statistics of the players, such as receiving, rushing, and passing yards. Whoever’s team has the most points at the conclusion of the games wins that week. At the end of the year the top teams with the most wins compete in a playoff and the last team left standing is awarded a fantasy championship.
Sounds simple right? To the contrary, everyone who has played fantasy football will tell you it’s not that easy. The most critical part to having a good fantasy football team is the draft. Make wise decisions, and you will dominate your league. Make risky and uninformed decisions and you

could be staring at a losing record and become the laughing stock of your friends or colleagues. Think of the draft as the foundation of your team. If you start your team on a solid foundation you will most likely enjoy a successful season. Start your team on a shoddy foundation and your season could come crumbling around you before you even know what happened. Luckily, you have a fantasy football expert to guide you to winning ways. I have been a part of fantasy football for 5 years and have two league championships and three top three finishes on my resume. Through experience I have determined the three steps to drafting a successful team and I will share them with you as follows. The first step to drafting a successful fantasy football team is to not take a quarterback in the first five rounds of the draft. In the NFL the quarterback is the most important player on the field, so many novices think the same rules apply to fantasy. However, history says that this simply isn’t the case and that you will be much better off waiting to draft a quarterback in the later rounds. Take last year for example. Peyton Manning was the consensus #1 quarterback in the preseason and in my league’s draft went in the first round. Meanwhile, I waited on a quarterback and drafted Andrew Luck in the sixth round. Manning had a good year and ended up finishing in the top five in terms of fantasy points, but Luck finished the year as the top quarterback. It simply makes more sense to draft a player at a different position in the first few rounds then a quarterback. So resist the temptation and wait! The second step when drafting your team is to pick a defense and kicker in the last two rounds.
This is another mistake a lot of first time players make. A defense is the backbone of an NFL team. Look at the best teams in the league and most likely they have a good defense, but again the same rules don’t apply when playing fantasy football. Due to the inconsistent nature of the NFL, there is no concrete science when it comes to predicting a defense from year to year. If you wait and draft a defense statistics prove that you can enjoy just as much success as if you get one of the higher ranked defenses earlier in the draft. I personally drop and add defenses week to week based on matchups and do better than most of my counterparts. And when it comes to kickers, just wait and pick one on a good team that can score points. Your team will be much better in the long run if you concentrate on drafting high upside players in the later rounds instead of wasting those picks on a defense or
kicker. The final step is to concentrate on drafting the best players available in the first 5-6 rounds of the draft. Depending on the league, each team is required to have a quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, a tight end, a kicker, and a defense. A lot of people have the mindset that they have to fill their starting roster and ensure they draft a player at each position first. When you draft have the mindset of taking the very best player available when you pick regardless of position. It’s true you shouldn’t draft 8 wide receivers, but since most drafts consist of 15 rounds, you can always fill the rest of your team out later. Also, during the season you can always trade players at the positions you have a surplus of. Fantasy football is a game of luck, skill and ingenuity. Even the most veteran player experiences circumstances where key players get injured or underperform. The steps I described above will not guarantee a winning season for everyone. It will still take preparation, instinct, and focus on the part of the player to ensure a championship. However, using the process I described will ensure you have the necessary components to a successful fantasy football draft and fantasy football excellence.
players around the NFL. The number of athletes that protested would increase from a couple on each team to nearly all of them. With the only exception being, the Dallas Cowboys. Who as a team took a knee prior to the anthem, but would all stand during it. This was due to the owner Jerry Jones why has said that no player will sit or take a knee on his team or he would cut them, but more on that later. Then there was one other person that would not join his team in protest. That person was Pittsburgh Steelers player Alejandro Villanueva. Who is a former United States Army Ranger.
NFL teams are practicing lightly so far this year, training camp is multiple weeks away, and the first preseason game isn't going to be played for months. The new defense has not been completely installed yet and neither has the new offense. We do not know whether the special teams unit will be as effective as it has been the past several seasons because Chip Kelly's practice schedule is no longer in place to provide extra reps and the overall depth chart isn't even being considered at this point because players are currently sporting shorts and t-shirts on the field.

When looking for an argumentative visual I wanted to do something over a topic that was one day going to relate to me. So I chose the topic of young male children playing tackle football. In this PBS Learning Media documentary, a group of doctors persuasively discuss the effects of allowing a male child under the age of fourteen to play tackle football and the head injuries it can cause as well as the later effective of their growth they can encounter if a hard blow to the head was the happen. The documentaries argument clearly stated that allowing your children to play tackle before the age of fourteen is dangerous and should be avoided for the child 's safety. The film also successfully utilized many rhetorical appeals that convinces parents to reconsider their idea of allowing their son to participate in tackle football. The first rhetorical appeal used in the film was pathos, it was a video clip of a child on the ground hurt because of a hard hit to the head. Another rhetorical appeal used was logos when they interviewed doctors from highly respected fields to state their factual
Football has been defined as one of the most competitive sports in the world. There are many different levels of playing, such as flag, high school, college, and professional. Where most of the rules stay the same no matter what stage of playing you are at, some things do change. When coaching in flag football for little kids you won’t be making money, the players aren’t recruited, and you don’t have a set number of players for your team. When playing n college and in the National Football League (NFL) all of those things come into play.
It is usually a 15 week process. There are many places to play fantasy football such as CBS, ESPN, Yahoo, and NFL.com. For example, on the show “The League” the winner will receive a trophy called the Shiva and the loser gets a trophy called the Sacko. The loser will even sometimes get a gag gift that can be as bad as a

On Sundays in the fall people all over the world are watching pro football. But do they know how it came to be or how the rules have gotten to be the way they are today? Most people don’t, so I am going to tell you all about it.
What is the most popular sport in America? The most popular sport in America would be the rugged game of football. Millions of fans wait in anticipation each year for the season to begin. The truth is the game is a very dangerous sport. It’s rooted with violence and physical aggression. Players are groomed from their youth to get bigger, faster, and stronger. Football is geared toward physical domination, get your opponent before he gets you with tackling, hitting, or by any means necessary, take them out before they take you out. Bones are broken, internal organs rupture, concussions are frequent and occasionally players die. Is the game worth the price? Is a human life worth less than monetary gain or entertainment? The answer
First of all, the rules of football require one to equip himself with approximately twenty pounds of equipment, including a helmet, shoulder pads, and girdle pads. This is because football has the most contact involved out of all sports. In a football game, the norm is that the home team wears colorful jerseys and the visiting team wears white jerseys. Moreover, if a team’s offense is on the field, their defense is on the sideline. A team’s offense includes a center, who snaps the ball to the quarterback. The “QB” then has a choice to run with the ball, hand it off to a running back, or throw it to a wide receiver. The quarterback has an offensive line to protect him from the assailing defense. If a teammate happens to score a touchdown, he earns his team six points, which allows for the kicker to kick an extra point, and give his team a total of seven points. However, if the offense fails to travel at least ten yards within four attempts, or “downs,” they have the opti...
The National Football League (NFL) has been a staple on Sunday’s in America homes for quiet sometime. It provides excitement and generates billion’s of dollars, but what I told you that this league may lose viewers or even not exist in a few years. The NFL is a great brand, but what is potentially going up against may have you scratching your head as a parent to let your child even take a snap early in his football career if not taken care of.
Once again, after a successful season, Shadle Park was defeated by a Big 9 school in the first game of the regional tournament. This reoccurring event has led many to believe that the four year football program puts GSL students at a disadvantage compared to other districts. A junior high school football program would not only increase the competitiveness of the students but also have more important consequences.
In stadiums, parks and fields all across America, many youth participate in a journey through defeat, heartbreak, hard work, and success. Practicing for hours, rain or shine, to be able to snag that game winning touchdown in the back of the endzone. Although football comes with many risks and dangers, I strongly believe that kids and teens should be allowed to play football because it promotes leadership, teamwork, and requires significant amounts of exercise and cardiovascular activity, and other contact sports are just as dangerous.
