Family is an essential puzzle piece in everyone’s life because they help piece together who you are. This means the different words, actions, and overall personality traits that a family has will eventually affect how a person is contrived. As an illustration, if someone’s family is very nice, they will probably be friendly since that is the way they grew up and that is the way they were taught to act and be in public spaces. On the other hand, if the guardians were very malicious, a person would let their anger out on others. The justification behind this is because people reciprocate their actions based off the way they are treated, and since the people in the example above are treated in contrasting ways by their family the way they act is clearly represented by that. Also, this implies that many people who act in a certain way usually are not doing this out of personal reasoning, but more over doing it because it is the only way they can stay in a state of equilibrium. This also explains how people can have such polar personality traits, although they might share many common characteristics. In light of evidence, we come to realize how much our family plays a part in who we are as a person and how we act towards our peers and others. Another demonstration of where family targets and emphasizes an individual’s character is during a family gathering. During a gathering with relatives, an individual automatically realizes the power relations in and their family. People interpret, analyzes, and detect who holds the most respect and power, but one seeks for character traits the person with the most respect and power acquires. When people recognize the different qualities the person with the most power has, they try to clone their characteristics, because human beings have an internal impulse to achieve a greater position of power. This aids to help create the final product of you, because
Family defines people making them who they are. A person's family heritage, how their parents met and married, their parents’ occupations, their siblings, and their early lives play an important role in who they are and who they become. Every family is different and has different characteristics and members, but those differences are what make every family unique. Those differences combined with my family members’ experiences and the stories they have chosen to share are what makes this story exclusive to my family.
In understanding others, one must first understand our own family background and how it affects our understanding of the world. Conversely, family systems draw on the view of the family as an emotional unit. Under system thinking, one evaluates the parts of the systems in relation to the whole meaning behavior becomes informed by and inseparable from the functioning of one’s family of origin. These ideas show that individuals have a hard time separating from the family and the network of relationships. With a deeper comprehension of the family of origin helps with the challenges and awareness of normalized human behaviors. When interviewing and analyzing the family of origin, allow one to look at their own family of origin
In Gloria Watkins’s essay “Keeping Close to Home.” Watkins claims that she connects to her family through communications and being open and honest with them. From her family, Watkins learns that she should respect and value the skills and talents that other people might have, not just focus on those that she likes. Watkins’s family has influenced her perspective on life by telling her to remember her own identity, and never forget about her past and history. There are some that thinks we do not carry much of our own family, but I think we do carry a lot of our own family with us whether is good or bad. As a child, family was very important to me. My parents made it very clear that the people in your family are the people that are going to be on your side for the rest of your life. My parents were young when they had me so they needed some extra help. Although they did everything in their power to make sure their work schedules were set so that somebody would always be at home to watch me, that just wasn 't always possible.
