Effects of pollution Around 40 percent deaths worldwide are caused by pollution, according to Lang (2007) “Water, air and soil pollution causes 40 percent of deaths worldwide, Cornell research survey finds” Polluting causes disturbance to the ecosystem, which affects the normal lifestyle. Pollution appears when toxins infect the natural surroundings of the environment. Different forms of pollution are air, water, soil, radioactive, noise, heat, and light. Environment degradation, human health, and global warming are three main effects of pollution.
The first effect is Environment degradation, which is the decline of the environment through reduction

The destruction of human health may be caused by air, water, and noise pollution. Breathing in polluted areas may lead to the increase of asthma, lung cancer, and irritation of the eyes, mouth, and throat. Smoking also causes pollution, which results in the disturbance of human health. In other words, when a person lights a cigarette, not only does he/she cause air pollution; but also harms the person’s health and the people around him/her. Consequently, people around the smoker may start coughing or have a hard time breathing due to the smoke around them. Likewise, smoke released from factories, and the burning of wood or vehicles, release chemicals that are also effective to a person who is breathing that air. Thus, the chemicals can cause headaches and dizziness due to the harmful chemicals around the person. When water is polluted, it may pose skin related damages like rashes and skin irritations. For example, when a person swims in polluted water they might get infected due to the dirty water, he/she might open their eyes underwater, for it would cause pink eye. Noise pollution is another effect on human health; it may lead to sleep disturbance, hearing loss, and psychological problems. For example, when loud music is playing next door or loud vehicles are passing by while a person is trying to sleep, it will disturb their sleep, which may cause stress. Hence, noise pollution may also cause hearing damage due to the loud noises impact on the ears. These are most of the damages that effect human health due to
In reality, there are many more pollutants that we don't think about every day. The six most common air pollutants are; “Carbon monoxide, Nitrogen oxides, Sulphur oxides, Particulate matter, Volatile organic compounds, and Ground-level ozone (nitrogen oxide and Volatile organic compounds reaction)”(David Suzuki Foundation). The fact is people are dying from air pollution and we are doing nothing to make it better, in fact air pollution is getting worse. In order to see the problem with pollution, we need to see the current facts and compare them to the estimated facts if we continue on the path we are heading on today. “In 2008, 21,000 Canadians died from the effects of air pollution.
Pollution is causing the destruction of environments and habits resulting in many adverse affects. The types of environments that are heavily damaged by pollution is normally freshwater ones. Polluting factors such as untreated sewage, mining waste, acid rain, fertilizers and pesticides
In the next decades, pollution is said to become one of the major causes for death in many urban cities. Pollution is
Smog harms plant life through glazing and the death of plant cells. In human beings and animals, it produces respiratory troubles. “Observed in the image, there is a lot more air pollution in specific areas due to highways from factories being placed in those areas. ”(Doc B). Air pollution is made when coals and fuels are burned in factories.
There are many kinds of air pollution. The ones I want to talk about are the ozone, acid rain, carbon monoxide and toxic air contaminants. Ozone is formed when hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxide react in sunlight. Therefore, ozone is at its peak during hot summer days. Exposure to high levels of ozone can have serious consequences on your health. It can cause respiratory disease, loss of pulmonary elasticity, and premature aging of our lungs. Next, is acid rain, which occurs in the atmosphere in the form of sulfur and nitrogen oxide. These pollutants can have serious damaging affects on aquatic, forest and wildlife ecosystems, as well as deterioration of buildings. Carbon monoxide is another form of pollution. It reduces the blood?s ability to carry oxygen. If a human is exposed to higher levels, it can cause chest pains, angina attacks or even death.
There are many types of pollution. The main types of pollution are water, air, soil, thermal, radioactive, noise, and light. The topic for this experiment is Water Pollution. Water Pollution became a problem in the 1900’s when water started being treated like sewage. Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson on April 22, 1970 because of 1900’s pollution. Water Pollution also affects humans and animals. There was a Cholera outbreak in 1854, before water pollution became a problem, and a Typhoid outbreak in New York from 1900 to 1915. There are multiple possible causes to Water Pollution. Humans let out chemicals into the environment, and when some of those chemicals
The environment and health are very closely linked. The environment in which we inhabit and go about our daily lives, directly impacts on our physical, mental and social well-being. There are biological, chemical and physical factors that can affect human health in a physical and mental way. The World Health Organisation states that "health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity" (WHO 1948), meaning that although many factors relating to health are associated with environmental pollution, they can also be caused by the environment in which we work and live in. The relationship between the environment and health, can however be quite complex. Human health is not only as a result of air, water and ground pollution, but also things such as food, genetics, life style and quality, which directly affect human susceptibility to illness, disease and possibly death. Disruptions to the environment, such as substance dispersal, climate change, acidification, ground pollution, photochemical air pollution and over fertilisation can also impact on human health. Therefore, there are direct and indirect links to the environment and health issues.
they create many breathing and heart conditions like cancer and other threats in the body, that is why children who are exposed through air pollutants are most likely to have pneumonia and asthma.
For example, you can have respiratory disease, lung cancer, skin cancer, and heart cancer as well. More than 10,000 people die every day because of drinking untreated water from the sewage, polluted river, lake. A 2010 analysis estimated that 1.2 million people died prematurely each year in China because of air pollution. And noise pollution is injurious to ears and your emotion, it can make you feel stress. Imagine that you are in a traffic jam with different noises from vehicles, voices of argueing people, you will definitely feel terrible right?? Finally, cancer and birth defects can be caused by chemical and radioactive
According to the internet human behavior has a very big affect on the environment. Environmental settings such as air pollution, oceans, energy, or noise are all sources that can negatively impact the environmental quality and conditions. Our daily routines have a huge impact on the environment and we do not realize it. New laws that are passing and educating people will help a lot. People are being educated on how to use less water, use our cars less, how to use less energy, and even taking reusable bags when going grocery shopping because plastic bags are very bad for the environment. There are simple solutions that can help in getting started with these efforts. Every little step and effort we make in our daily routines count.
Pollutants are the key elements of pollution, which are generally waste materials of dissimilar forms. Pollution disturbs our ecosystem and the balance of the environment. With innovation and development in our lives pollution has reached its peaks giving rise to global warming and human illness. When raw materials, water, energy and other resources are utilized more efficiently, when fewer harmful substances are substituted for hazardous ones, and when lethal substances are eliminated from the production process. Water pollution is also a major problem in the world because almost 60% of it is fish.
Pollution is a massive problem that the earth faces. Pollution is the action or process of making land, water, air, etc…, dirty and not safe or suitable to use. Pollution of air, water, and soil are the most complex issues. Various types of gases and toxins that are released by industries
Today talking about environmental issues lately to be like a common topic discussion until people take it for granted. However, the world facing a complex environmental problems related to each trouble that connected to one another and come out with greater impacts to the environment and humans. This is because the effects of environmental only can be seen in long term period rather than immediately result show up. Environmental issues must become one of the controversial matters in the society in order to make people know the truth what the world currently facing. There were a lot of environmental disaster happened such as climate change, global warming, various of pollutions, earthquake and etc. the rise of environmental issues begin with this urban development occur through several countries following with the technologies equip along. For sure, development will cause a huge negative impact to the environment if it deals without a care. Besides, the environment is the place in the ecosystem to hold and use in finding resources to continuously survive in this world. Thus, the finding and digging for the resources which happening extensively without preservation will not restore the surrounding similar with before. But then, the change cannot be refuse and people need to take an action to save the threaten the world and the ecosystem from being extinct. If each country has own output in causing an environmental problem, then consider the world to hold all the damage occurred. Exposing the effects of environmental issues throughout the world, make people realize the important to take care the environment.
The Causes of Water Pollution Water pollution is very harmful to the environment and living things. Water pollution can come from many different sources. If the pollution comes from only one source, such as an oil spill, it is called point-source pollution. If it comes from many different sources, it is called nonpoint-source pollution. Most water pollution affects the immediate area surrounding the source, but there are some types of pollution, such as hazardous, that can affect areas miles away from the source.
Pollution is so harmful to human beings. Polluted water can cause many kinds of diseases, such as diarrhea, enteritis, and so on. And sometimes the diseases even take man’s life. Dirty air or air-borne garbage causes stinging eyes and running nose. Pollutants are destructive. They will cause runs in stockings and crack rubber tires and they always eat away at stone and rust iron. Time and time again, there are serious accidents that polluted the air. For example, At 1986 there was a bad accident at a nuclear power station in Russia. A cloud of radiation crossed the whole Europe. It is said that 125,000 people died in Russia as a result of illnesses caused by that accident. In 1984 there was an accident at a factory in India and a dangerous cloud gas covered the town of Bhopal. Over 2,500 people were killed that night, and hundreds and thousands of people were injured. Many of the injured lost their sight, and it really dangerous, even in our imagination.
