Border Control The United States needs more border control. The Government has put up to long with the struggle to keep unwanted substances and threats out of this country. Border control needs to be increased because of the threat of terrorism, Unneeded drugs, and the safety of U.S. citizens. Terrorism is a leading issue in American society and stated by Peter Gasser “Terrorist attacks have brought suffering and distress to individual victims” (Gasser). Terrorists could care less who they kill or how many because “terrorists strike indiscriminately.” (Gasser). Because of this we Americans must secure our borders tighter. Terrorists want to push their purpose onward but as Peter Gasser says “The purpose of terrorists attacks is to create fear to further their cause” (Gasser). Terrorists strive to maintain a political goal which is why “Terrorist attacks are often perpetuated against persons who have no direct influence” (Gasser) just so they can prove a point. …show more content…

“The consumers of illegal drugs often commit crimes to support their habits” (Cooper) and this must be seceded in the United States. Not only are the illegal drugs that pour into America bad for health but “Federal spending to combat drugs has increased from $1.5 billion in 1981 to $12 billion in 1992” (Cooper). Drugs pour in from everywhere and “Public opinion polls cited drugs as one of the country’s leading concerns” (Cooper). “Not only are some new types of drugs available today more dangerous but the potency of drugs has also increased”
