Coase study #2 Beer: The vice president of marketing for a major brewing company is aware that college students account for a large proportion of beer sales and that people in this age group form lifelong loyalties to brands of beer. The executive is personally uncomfortable with the tasteless gimmicks used by her competitors in the industry to encourage drinking on campuses, including beach parties and beer-drinking contests. She worries about the company’s contribution to underage drinking and alcohol abuse among college students. Should she go along with the competition? State your case/opinion, etc. Outline: Beer I. Introduction. ¥ drinking competition, and how the company does the right thing to make money. ¥ keep the company’s good reputation, and their customer loyalty. II. Body Idea ¥ Yes, she should go because it is a competition and she needs to sell her product and keep her customer’s loyalty. ¥ If she does not compete she may lose customer loyalty. ¥ her challengers in the business to support drinking on campuses, including Introduction. ¥ This difficult is a national tragedy and I should follow the companies rule. ¥ I would keep my store closed, because I do not want to pay the fine and suffer any other consequences from the owner of the franchise. ¥ Also, there is no electric and no one can see what is on the shelf. ¥ Opining The store is not making any logic. Part of this is the continuous improvement of its supply chain management processes. Having vertically integrated most of its supply chain, Anheuser-Busch is less involved in supplier selection and the improvement of external sourcing. Rather, they focus on their internal processes in order to create a competitive advantage in the market. In an attempt to decrease costs, and in turn improve their bottom line, the company looked internally. They found a startling inefficiency: the water material requirement in their products was extremely high. This not only conflicted with their corporate social goals, but threatened to be a long-term unnecessary cost driver Anheuser-Busch chose to actively innovate its processes and sourcing channels. It can be viewed as something to be a social gathering that brings friends together or it can be taking as destruction to someone. Over the years alcohol has played many roles in the world but it plays an even bigger role in substance abuse. Doctors have made several points that it is okay to have a drink every now and again but people need to realize when one drink has become too many. The ideal of having a drink with friends or going out and having an occasional drink is acceptable; However, is it still acceptable when a person find their selves having a drink first thing in the morning or runs to a drink to solve their people.

Some drugs have the potential to interact with alcohol and affect each others levels on blood, metabolism, absorption, distribution, excretion and change the colateral effects[2]. Shoppers should think of all the employees who want to spend time with their families on Thanksgiving. Furthermore, in the article “Two Dozen Retailers Won’t Open on Thanksgiving-And They’re Shaming the Ones That Will,” it declares, “Likewise, Menards took out a full-page newspaper ad last year explaining that it was remaining close on Thanksgiving because the day ‘should be celebrated with all those we hold dear,’ while a recent Costco statement described its reasons for not opening on Thanksgiving: Our employees work especially hard during the holiday season and we simply believe that they deserve the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with their families. Nothing more complicated than that.” It is understandable that their is last minute goods, however employees should not be working. Thanksgiving is a time when families get together and spend time with each other and not restocking shelves or giving employees money at the cash register. With this in mind, numerous people should say “no thank you” to stores being open on Thanksgiving, it takes away from the true meaning
