Antonio Vivaldi

Born in the seventeenth century, Antonio Vivaldi was a composer who wrote some of the most well know musical works. Throughout his whole life he loved music. His greatest passion was music. Present day still plays his master pieces. He wrote many different styles of music, including church music, operas, Concertos, and chamber music. Antonio Vivaldi greatly contributed to the classical music genre. Although he has passed, his music will live on and it will continue to live on for centuries to come.
Antonio Vivaldi was born in Venice, Italy on the date of March 4th, 1878. Antonio Vivaldi was taught music from an early age. His father, Giovanni Battista Vivaldi, taught him how to play many different kinds of instruments. Giovanni Vivaldi was a violinist himself. Learning from his father helped him greatly, but he also received lessons from some of the other musicians and composers in Venice. Antonio learned to play the violin well quite quick. But wind instruments played a toll on him because he soon to find out that he gets shortness of breath quickly. Vivaldi went through religious training to become a priest. It gave him a free education to become something more. This is where he got his nicked name. It is one of the most famous nick names in classical history. The nick name was “il Prete Rosso,” in Italian, or “the Red Priest.” He received his fellow colleagues. Although he became a priest, this career was shortened because of his health problems. He had problems with saying mass, which made him leave priesthood. This is when he turned back to his music. He stared writing a whole variety of different pieces and different styles. ... sacred works. He was well know for most of his life, but was forgotten towards the end. His work was rediscovered in the 1900’s and became well known and a master at what he did. All of his work came alive again and has been being performed since World War Two. This discovery of all of Vivaldi’s work filled many musicians with inspiration. He also inspired many other great composers, such as Bach. His music is the basis of many composers work, and it will be to come. Although Antonio Vivaldi is no longer composing music, his works will live on and on for time to come.
