Antonio Vivaldi
Born in the seventeenth century, Antonio Vivaldi was a composer who wrote some of the most well know musical works. Throughout his whole life he loved music. His greatest passion was music. Present day still plays his master pieces. He wrote many different styles of music, including church music, operas, Concertos, and chamber music. Antonio Vivaldi greatly contributed to the classical music genre. Although he has passed, his music will live on and it will continue to live on for centuries to come.
Antonio Vivaldi was born in Venice, Italy on the date of March 4th, 1878. Antonio Vivaldi was taught music from an early age. His father, Giovanni Battista Vivaldi, taught him how to play many different kinds of instruments. Giovanni Vivaldi was a violinist himself. Learning from his father helped him greatly, but he also received lessons from some of the other musicians and composers in Venice. Antonio learned to play the violin well quite quick. But wind instruments played a toll on him because he soon to find out that he gets shortness of breath quickly. Vivaldi went through religious training to become a priest. It gave him a free education to become something more. This is where he got his nicked name. It is one of the most famous nick names in classical history. The nick name was “il Prete Rosso,” in Italian, or “the Red Priest.” He received his fellow colleagues. Although he became a priest, this career was shortened because of his health problems. ... sacred works. He was well know for most of his life, but was forgotten towards the end. His work was rediscovered in the 1900’s and became well known and a master at what he did. All of his work came alive again and has been being performed since World War Two. This discovery of all of Vivaldi’s work filled many musicians with inspiration. He also inspired many other great composers, such as Bach. His music is the basis of many composers work, and it will be to come. Although Antonio Vivaldi is no longer composing music, his works will live on and on for time to come.

Claudio Monteverdi was able to invent a whole new style of music, a new type of composition, and even defined the whole transition of musical era. He was also able to construct one of the most well known baroque operas, so without him, modern music would be enormously different. Due to his well-established text painting, Monteverdi was able to bring his beautiful creations to life even to this day where they are performed regularly. It is only through our ability as humans to “See further by standing on the back of giants” to advance in our own personal music journey, and without composers like Monteverdi to revolutionize the use of basso continuo and secondo prattica we can “see further”.
He composed some very good music that is still played today in classrooms all over the world. Like what was said in the paper earlier Hector Berlioz was a great french composer that had a huge contributor to Romanticism. Antonio Stradivari was born in Bergamo Italy 1644. In his youth he lived in Cremona Italy, where he became the apprentice of Nicolo Amati. He had married twice, once in 1667 with a woman named Francesca, whom he had six children with. His first son only lived for six days. The rest later became priests, and apprentices of their father. Francesca then died in 1698. Soon after Stradivari remarried in 1699 to a woman named Antonia. Antonia and Stradivari had four children. Two of which had died. Stradivari bought a home in Piazza Roma; this is where Stradivari carried out his work as a luthier, with his sons at his side as apprentices. In 1737 Stradivari had died and was buried in the church of San Domenico in Cremona where his family had originated.
Vivaldi wanted to go into priesthood, but due to illness he was unable to continue this pursuit. (Kamien, 2015, p. 126). He spent the rest of his life involved in many aspects of music: teaching, composing, and conducting. It is important to reflect on the composer’s history to gain insight into their perspective. Kamien (2015) describes Vivaldi as a virtuoso violinist which is why he mainly featured violins in his works (p.127).
One of his very famous pieces of work was The Rite of Spring, last year in band class we had to write a paper about that marvelous performance. That was one of his greatest pieces that he ever wrote. That was a piece that he had worked very hard at for a long time.
Claudio Monteverdi was born on May 15, 1567, in Cremona Italy, Monteverdi was an Italian composer of the late Renaissance and the Early Baroque, and is known as the first great composer of the operas. Monteverdi is often view as a composer of the Renaissance and of the Baroque, there is a similar pattern in that is continuous that is often viewed through his work in both styles. Monteverdi often was known as a dramatic composer, while bringing a tremendous meaning from the text he set that often turned each of his pieces into a believable musical and also produced a dramatic statement.
Ludwig van Beethoven was born in the town of Bonn, Germany on December 16 of 1770. Bonn is located in western Germany on the Rhine River. Beethoven showed an affinity for music at an early age. His father, Johann, taught Ludwig to play the piano as well as the violin. Johann did this in hopes that his son would become a prodigy, and then reach fame like Wolfgang A. Mozart. Unfortunately though Beethoven mother died when he was seventeen. In addition to his mother’s death Beethoven’s father developed an alcohol problem. To escape these problems Beethoven found a job tutoring the two children of the von Breuning family. This relationship proved to be beneficial to Beethoven. The matriarch of the family happened to be well liked in the town of Bonn, so she introduced Beethoven to a few important people.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven are very famous past composers that have created many pieces that have influenced not just people of their time, but people in modern times as well.
As time went on Michelangelo goes on the create some of the best Statues and paintings known to man today. Aside from his “artistic” life Michelangelo was also an architect and a poet, he designed buildings such as the Laurentian Library and the Medici Chapel, but his biggest accomplishment came in 1546, became the head architect of Peter’s Basilica. For him when it came it poetry, he wrote over 300 poems that have come to be known as “Michelangelo's sonnets,” which are still read by people to this day. Even Though, he is known for his memorable sculptures and paintings, Michelangelo did not have the best personality. He was short-tempered, so he did not really work well with others, when Michelangelo painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, he fired all of his workers, because he wanted everything to the peak of perfection. A lot Michelangelo’s works did remain unfinished, but the ones that he did complete are still some of the best in history; from Pieta, David, The Last Judgement, to the ceiling
According to Michael Talbot, of Grove Music, as well as the liner notes from the Analekta Classical Music CD, Antonio Vivaldi was born to Giovanni Battista and Camilla Calicchio in Venice in 1678. Giovanni made a profitable living as an accomplished violinist, and became Vivaldi’s main instructor from an early age. The oldest of nine children, Vivaldi led the way in studying music, and became the most musical of his siblings. Vivaldi spent much time learning about and preparing to be ordained to the office of a priest. In 1703, he was ordained a priest, but resigned after just a year due to his acclaimed medical limits (Heller 38-40). For his entire life, Vivaldi struggled with the effects of bronchial asthma and was unable to play wind instruments. Though his asthma was a real issue, there is some question about the actual reason of his resignation. He was often rumored to leave a Mass when inspired with new musical ideas. The first thing I will talk about is the type of music he is know for which gave him that name. Most people listen to the type of music he composed but next to none know who or how it was composed. There seems to be an abundance of music fans who know little or nothing about the origin of their music. By discussing what he has accomplished it will explain why he is considered to be so important to his type of music.

Vivaldi's music is particularly innovative as he gave brightness to the formal and the rhythmic structure of concertos. He repeatedly looked for harmonic contrasts, creating innovative melodies and themes. Vivaldi’ main goal was to create a musical piece meant to be appreciated by the wide public, and not only by an intellectual minority. The joyful appearance of his music reveals a transmittable joy of composing. These are among the causes of the vast popularity of his music. This popularity soon made him famous also in countries like France, at the time very closed into its national schemes. He is considered one of the authors that brought Baroque music to evolve into an impressionist style.
Amongst the several intellectual and artistic Renaissance individuals, this figure “saw the angle in the marble and carved until he set him free.” Artist Michelangelo Buonarroti learned his art while young and under the occupation of Lorenzo de Magnificent; his talent was pooled in different directions, but he applied himself to traditional religious matters with great devotion, although he had been increasingly attracted to the classical legends he heard at home. Michelangelo was born with talents beyond artistry; he is mostly known as being a painter and sculptor, but Michelangelo was also an architect, poet, and engineer.
Beethoven was born in Bonn Germany. At 14, he held the occupation of a court organist. Sadly, his father was a drunken singer, and barely supported his family. Consequently, the money Beethoven earned assisted his family. In 1778, he traveled to Vienna and met Wolfgang A. Mozart who instantly acknowledged his brilliance. However, on account of his mother’s illness, he returned to his home town, and had to support his brothers after her death.
