Recommended: What the american flag means to us

The flag We all know and love the American flag today, which represents purity/innocence, hardiness and valor and it also represent the freedom of our country and many more. My solo project has many similarities to it because our flag symbolizes our island and it’s people. The flag is important in many ways because it symbolizes us as a group and who we are. I'm not that really an expert at this, but I did some research why our flag is important. This is relevant to our life because the flag is what represent us and who we are as a nation. I choose this because I’m interested in the country’s background and knowing their flag, it give you information what will be their country and culture will be about. For this project I had to make a flag for our island which was “Ceaw” and at first it was difficult to make, but in the end we made our flag. First our flag has two lines that go across in the middle which was colored black. Second we had a star in the middle around the stars are these fins like shape which was the color blue. Flags has been around for many years and flags can represent a country with colors and shapes.     First I would like to include some information about our american flag and how it came about. In the British colonies of North America before the Revolution, each of the 13 colonies had its flag. On Jan. 2, 1776, the first flag of the United States was raised at Cambridge, Mass., by George Washington. Known as the Grand Union flag, it consisted of 13 stripes, alternate red and white, with a blue canton bearing the crosses of St. George and St. Andrew. Congress, on June 14, 1777, enacted a resolution “that the Flag of the United States be 13 stripes alternate red and white, that the Union be 13 stars white in a blue field representing a new constellation.” On Jan. 13, 1794, Vermont and Kentucky having been admitted to the Union, Congress added a stripe and a star for each state.
