A community is a group of people who are like minded and share the same values and beliefs. Being part of a community gives us a sense of belonging to something greater than us. That’s all most of us ask for, to belong to something. Many people would assume that the community build around a workplace would involve terrible management with little to no care about the employees or, the employees sitting around hardly doing their jobs just ranting about customers. But in the community, I work in that is not true. I work at Best Buy and what I get out of being part of a workplace community is far greater than what it is thought to be.
The community at Best Buy consists of its employees, which I would be part of them. There are a variety of jobs

Mine would be my job title. I work at customer service. My responsibilities are to be friendly and to help the customers as best of my abilities. Also, depending on my shift, I am responsible in making sure everything is on or off and the beginning and end of the day. For instance, if I am on the opening shift I am responsible for turning on everything that needs to be turned on, like the cashier lights, the TV’s, etc. I also have to write down on a note who is working at the front end of the store today and what their shifts are along with assigning registers according to the schedule. But this responsibility varies according to what position we hold. In return for my responsibilities I am rewarded with pay.
There is somewhat of a government to this community and that would be the managers and supervisors. They overlook everything and make sure the store is running smoothly with no problems. They are the ones that we have to go to if a problem were to occur or with any issues above our control. The final decision, in most cases are up to the

Time is just one thing that I have to give up in order to be part of this community. The only downside to spending my time invested in in this community would be that I work every weekend which is not too bad I just like to go out on weekends with my family. I work those days because it is the busiest and the store gets more Hispanic population coming in. Especially on Sundays around 1pm. That is because many Hispanics are getting out of church and are wanting to spend some time in town and go shipping for a bit. I would know because I do that as well. Sometimes when my shifts do not start until church is over, I go to church myself and see many people from mass at Best Buy either making purchases or paying of their credit card bills. Most times I will see people who attended mass earlier in the store and they come up to me and talk to
Community is defined as a group a people living in an area under the same conditions. Realistically, a community is so much more than this definition. It is people and their different beliefs that form a community. In the town of Milagro, Amarante Cordova, Ruby Archuleta, and a town coming together to rescue a fellow community member from jail exemplify the true spirit of what community is.
Community is like a Venn diagram. It is all about relations between a finite group of people or things. People have their own circles and, sometimes, these circles overlap one another. These interceptions are interests, common attitudes and goals that we share together. These interceptions bond us together as a community, as a Venn diagram. A good community needs good communication where people speak and listen to each other openly and honestly. It needs ti...

Community is an essential part of the existence of human being. The term community may be describe in so many forms. However, Yiu (2012) define community as a group of people, who live, learn, work, and play in an environment at a given time; they have unique characteristics and interest; function in a social system that meets their needs, such as an organization, a region, a province or a nation (p. 213).
Today organizations are seeking the best employees to compete in the cutthroat market environment. In order to achieve their goals, they must have something to offer to their employees to keep them motivated. Employee motivation can come from management strategies, employee incentives, health, school, adoption assistance, and the more the company can offer the better and more valuable the employee can be. With that being said Best Buy might just have what most employees are looking for. Best Buy is considered to be one of the world’s largest consumer electronics retailers, with that being said more that 125,000 people are employed by Best Buy. This is a company willing to go the extra mile to make their employees satisfied which betters the
Old Navy is an American clothing and accessories company owned by the corporation Gap Inc. As holiday season approaches, retail stores such as Old Navy hire thousands of seasonal workers to keep speed with the millions of shoppers who are expected to hit the stores during the holiday season. Nearly two days after applying, I got called for an interview then hired for the seasonal position, this not only made me realize that this opening will lead me to gain some experience in retail, but also made me realize that in a way I will be joining a new community and will be part of a team that strives to create an environment that is functional enough
A community is comprised of a group of goal oriented individuals with similar beliefs and expectations. Currently the term is used interchangeably with society, the town one lives in and even religion. A less shallow interpretation suggests that community embodies a lifestyle unique to its members. Similarities within the group establish bonds along with ideals, values, and strength in numbers unknown to an individual. Ideals and values ultimately impose the culture that the constituents abide by. By becoming part of a community, socialization...
How would someone define the word community? A community could be anything. If one were to listen to an everyday conservation, the word community, would probably be used very little. The word community has multiple meanings, ranging from communist or socialistic society (Emerson) to the quality of appertaining to or being held by all in common (Oxford).
A Community can be defined as a group of people who don’t just live in the same area, but also share the same interests, experiences and often concerns about the area in which they live. Often when individuals have lived on a street or in an area for a while they become familiar with each other and the issues surrounding them. Children often attend the same schools and grow up together, again sharing similar experiences. In some instances adults may work together, and quite commonly all community members will share the same doctors, dentists, hospitals, health visitors and other public services and facilities.
There are various influences on everyone’s lives while growing up. I believe the greatest of these influences is the neighborhood you grew up in. I grew up in a quite large, welcoming neighborhood. While living in this neighborhood, I was outgoing and remarkably talkative. Making friends became second nature to me. Playing outdoors from sunrise to sundown playing sports or exploring the outdoors with my friends became a daily routine for me. I was outgoing, talkative, and active. I believe this is the result of the neighborhood I grew up in.

Everyone has their own perception of an ideal community. For each person the factors of an ideal community will vary depending on their upbringing. My understanding of a community is a place where a group of people live, and socialize. Everyone is caring, thoughtful, and respectful. In my community people take care of each other they think before they act, and are respectful to one another keeping in mind equality.
According to Lorenzini and Giugni, (2010) negative consequences of unemployment, however, might be compensated or at least reduced if young people dispose of certain external resources. For example, the help of the family in supporting them financially might prove essential. Similarly, being in a relationship with a partner and having close friends with whom one can talk to might help overcoming the psychological distress caused by unemployment. “Social integration may increase the individual’s ability to cope in a way that reduces mental health symptoms and prevents social exclusion” (Hammer, 2000). Social integration is understood as having a network of family and friends, but also as having contacts with them. In

One of the biggest aspects of an institutions influence on society is the need for supply and demand and to control society so that it can adapt to the changes caused by individuals within it. All societies necessarily make economic choices. A society is a system of social relationship while institution is the organization of rules traditions and usages. Institutions are the forms of procedure which are recognized and accepted by society and they exist for the society and govern the relations between members of society. Society represents human aspect while an institution is a social condition of com and behavior.
Civil society is both a way of describing aspects of modern society and an aspiration, an ideal of what a good society should be like. It has recently been revived to emphasize the capacity of societies to organize themselves through the active cooperation of their members. Unfortunately up to today we still don't have a universally recognised definition and the whole concept is still the core of a intense academic debate. That is why it seemed appropriate, for the purpouse of this paper, to analyse the historical evolution of the concept throughout the centuries.
