I was interested in systems and their working since my high school days. I have spent many weekend afternoons taking my cycle, an air-conditioner apart just to observe at the systems.
Science has long since held a cherished place in my heart. Since my secondary school days I have had a special interest and aptitude for science. Based on my interests I took up the science stream in high school. It was here that I truly discovered myself. I was inclined to physics more than any other science stream. It was then that I decided that I would do my bachelors in Mechanical Engineering. Wanting to study in India’s top engineering college, it was only through hard work, determination and perseverance that I was selected into BITS-Pilani, a college that has an intake value of just around 1%.
In college I continued to do well in all subjects that were related to mechanical Engineering and this fact is reflected in my grades. I have top grades in Physics-1(Engineering Mechanics), Mechanics of Solids, Advanced Mechanics of Solids, Production Techniques, etc.
While doing my ‘Transport Phenomena” course, I noticed the power of numerical techniques. I was very interested and curious to learn more about the same and hence worked on “The Numerical techniques used in CFD“, during first semester of my junior year. During the project I was exposed to various concepts, equations of fluid flow and heat transfer. In this project I learnt about fundamental design techniques, Finite Difference Method, Finite Volume method which helped me solve basic problems of heat transfer and fluid flow. This was one my first research experiences and I learnt the various nuances of research and now possess the ability to work independently when required. This also ...

The day to day duties of a mechanical engineer are at first repetitive, but over time and with advancement work varies. The average mechanical engineer works anywhere from thirty-five to fifty hours a week. If the engineer is ahead of schedule the hours may be less. Depending on which type of engineer you want be, you will either wear a uniform or semiformal clothing. Usually mechanical engineers work in an office or at a desk, their clothes are semiformal. Mechanical engineers are mainly designing equipment, so the outside work is minimal.
Throughout my life, I have had an interest in working on cars, old trucks, or even tractors. Since I was younger, I would spend countless nights working on my quad. When I started driving, my interest in working on things became a hobby. I bought a 1985 K5 Blazer which took a hold of a lot of my time. I put a new transmission and engine in this truck which cost a lot of time and effort. This is when my inspiration for working on engines became a career I wanted to pursue.
Anybody and everybody can become an industrial machinery mechanic; especially, those who are passionate about getting their hands plastered in motor oil, grease, and other mechanical lubricants. These people will more than likely be ecstatic about getting into industrial machinery mechanics. They need to be able to put in one hundred ten percent of their effort into becoming an industrial machinery mechanic. An industrial machinery mechanic’s overall objective on the job is to stop a mechanical error before it happens. An industrial machinery mechanics are often caught repairing, maintaining, and fabricating machinery.
