The computer science field is one of the fastest advancing technological fields in today’s day and age, with new discoveries and research happening on a daily basis. Computers and their applications are in constant flux, as we create more efficient ways to profess electronic information. With a field changing so rapidly, we must remember and continue to study the roots these advancements if we are to understand all of the new material being produced. Although we focus on the western computer scientists, we sometimes forget the contributions that come from the East, specifically from Africa. Historically there have been many computer scientists from Africa that have contributed to the advancement of the computer science field. Thus far we have neglected to appreciate or acknowledge their contributions, even though we could not be at our current state without them. All discoveries in the computer science field build upon a previous discovery, and for this reason, to neglect past contribution or advancements, is to neglect the future. This is why we must change our focus and recognize the major advancements, such as the Niagara, or the Logo projects; both of which would not have been possible without the influence of African Computer Scientists. Africa has made key contributions to the computer science field through its work on the Niagara project, the Logo Computer Systems Inc, The Connection Machine, The South African Computer Science Network, and ________.
This perfectly holds true for me in the world of Computer Engineering where novel ideas are not a novelty. It is this novelty that entices me to this field and gives me a deep sense of professional pride. In this context, I would like to pursue my graduation in Computer Engineering, which not only supplements the knowledge that I possess but also provides a strong platform for my future career goals.
The operating system whatever it may be (Windows or Linux) it is the most important program that runs on a computer. All general purpose computers require an operating system in order to run other programs. The Operating system performs essential basic tasks such as recognizing input from the keyboard, keeping track of files and their directories on the disk, the sending output to the display screen and the controlling of peripheral devices such as keyboards and printers.
I. INTRODUCTION In today’s world the amount of stored information has been enormously increasing day by day, so discovering patterns and trends out of massive data is a great challenge. When I was in middle school, I had totally no idea of what Computer Science is, but I was pretty proficient in using computers at that age. The only thing that I knew about Computer Science is that one of my aunts is in that field and that’s all, nor of my parents are in that major. Not until in High School that I got the sense of what programming is like. I was taught basic simple codings and I really enjoyed it and thought that the class was actually quite fun. But the class didn’t give me any sense of the important real-world applications of Computer Science. Not until recently as I am in the Computer Science major, I started to really have the real idea and to gain real passion for the field. Computer Science is not all about programming.

Computer history is based and consisted of different components during different periods of time. There are five different generations and during each one, different components are invented and used to make computers better. The development of computers is known as generations. Usually, the generations develop how computers operate, to make them smaller, cheaper, and make it more efficient and more reliable. All the generations started in 1940 by ENIAC. All computers till 2014 use low language, but humans use high level language which is close to English. Low level language is a computer language which is consisted of zeros and ones. Some of the high level languages are FORTRAN, Pascal, Basic, C and C++, and finally, Java. Computers have been
