Dear Admissions Committee, I am writing to you in regards for my request to waive my GMAT/GRE scores from my application for the start of the May 2018 Online MBA program at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. The financial decision making skills, leadership communication, and problem solving skills that I have accumulated through my rigorous classes in my undergraduate degree in Nuclear Medicine, as well as my career path in radiology, has supported my efforts to demonstrate and surpass the same quality of analytical, quantitative and verbal skills that are presented in the GMAT/GRE. Unlike a conventional college experience, my undergraduate experience was filled with tedious nights and assiduous academic efforts. In addition to accumulating over 1,500 hours of free clinical training, I supported a full-time job as a CNA in Psychiatry. Classes, such as Nuclear Medicine Physics, Radiopharmaceuticals, and Radiobiology, exposed me to the high levels of quantitative measure including decay logarithms, statistics, and linear regression. These classes pushed me to develop a competent work ethic and critical analysis skills, as I tried to complete a major that consisted of a 7 point grading scale in which a 93 represented the lowest A. …show more content…
With being the Lead Technologist of the highly profitable PET/CT department, I regularly head meetings of 10-15 people with a scheduling team and a team of insurance verifiers to assess patient volumes, imaging regulations, and make sure that our department is getting reimbursed for the millions of dollars’ worth of procedures that we bill for on a yearly basis. Moving on to my college years, I was a nursing major for 2 years. My classes consisted of Into Organic Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Micro Biology, Nutrition and many more. As challenging as the course work as, I loved every second of it. My teachers were all extremely passionate about their fields and the laboratories were so incredibly interesting (especially Medical Micro Biology). Now being an education major with an emphasis in English, I am only required to take three science course, which I am taking them all this semester and so far I am really enjoying them
...things I like the most about my degree program is that it is not all about academic studies even though it is heavily science-oriented. In that regard, my classes do emphasize atomic physics and chemistry, but they also offer substantial opportunity for practical experience. In the words of Professor Hejny, "It's not just classes; clinicals, homework, and practical experience make this a full-time program."
During my half day shadowing of Memorial hospitals radiologist, Dr. Armah, I was able to observe several studies. These studies included several CT scans, and three PET/CT 18F-FDG scans. During my shadowing experience I was able to obtain a better understanding of how the radiologist reads images, what makes for good diagnostic images, and what role I play in the quality of the images. The shadowing experience was one of great importance as it proved to be very informative. Such information included technology impacts, various pathologies, and personal reflection on my role.

College Admissions Essay If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. I have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Even though I always pictured myself this way, I never worried too much about how I would get there.

For the past few years, my academic interests have been centered around the worlds of science and math; however, I have not always found these topics to be particularly intriguing. In fact, I remember dreading science class in fourth grade when I was first exposed to atoms and the complex realm of science. As I grew older, I developed an appreciation, and then an eventual passion, for the enthralling worlds of science and math because I began to consider the infinite careers and opportunities that they had to offer. Now I am in AP Chemistry, and I wish it was as simple as knowing protons are positive, electrons are negative, and neutrons are neutral, but I have always had a desire to challenge myself and push my knowledge to new levels; it is for this reason that I want
Based on the pre-med review of my MCAT score, I was advised to retake the MCAT. However, I did not have enough time to prepare, retake the MCAT, and submit my application in time for a committee letter. The pre-med committee requires all students to submit their AMCAS application before August 1st in order to be eligible for an advisor letter. I initially decided not to apply to medical school this cycle based on the pre-med advisor’s recommendation. However, receiving words of encouragement from my mentor, a previous emergency physician, and after a self-reflecting on my experiences in the health care field and my academic achievement, I regained the confidence to apply to medical school. As a result, I completed and submitted my AMCAS application

Dear University of California, Berkeley-- We understand. You are special. Everyone wants you, and considering the large volume of applicants you receive each year I am sure it is difficult distinguishing one amazing student from another. So while it is great that you want to give everyone a fair shot by accepting letters of recommendation from some applicants this upcoming fall, I believe that doing so will only increase students ' burden instead of alleviate it.
