I believe that a smile can change someone 's day. I believe that a few kind words can impact a person 's whole life. I believe that sadness can be conquered, and I believe that happiness and kindness are everything. I have always been an incredibly happy and peppy person, but I also know that from time to time it can be incredibly difficult to be happy. I went through a period in my life where numerous difficulties kept occurring and it created this strenuous atmosphere where I felt like I could not be happy or put a smile on my face when I crawled out of bed in the morning. I felt as if everything was hopeless and I did not see a point in even trying to be happy. I understand that a collective amount of people go through times like this one, …show more content…
Smiles are contagious, when someone smiles it creates a chain reaction and then others begin to smile or laugh and this makes people happy even for just a second. I continued to surround myself with kind and happy people that carried out caring actions and simply smiled. Another issue that is of importance would be my own actions upon people, my actions affect people 's emotions just like theirs affect me. If I treat people with absolute kindness, then they are going to be kinder to me and I would be more likely to develop a happy and kind perspective on life. Just because someone may not be the most caring or kindest person not give the right to act the same way. They could be going through a tough time or having a rough day and one humble act of kindness could fix their entire day.
I believe in being happy and being kind, it can create a better life for myself and those around me. Putting myself in positive situations is one of the biggest steps towards being happy. The smallest notions can change someone so much and I believe taking two seconds to make someone smile is well worth it if it can change a person 's attitude towards their entire day. I believe that happiness and kindness are the most important attributes in one 's life, they create the structure for who you are as a
The greatest gift that a person could ever receive is a smile. “Everybody in the world is seeking happiness… Happiness doesn’t depend on outward conditions. It depends on inner conditions.” Some say that a smile is a window to your soul, and the reality is a smile can change your mood even if you fake one. Like the psychologist and philosopher William James says, “Action seems to follow feeling, but really action and feeling go together.” Even when there are struggles a smile can change your mood and reduce the pain. Like Carnegie implies, “You must have a good time meeting people if you expect them to have a good time meeting you.” This is very important because you can not expect people to happy around you when you sit with a frown in your face. A smile is a wonderful gift because it cost nothing and brightens anybodies day.
They should be respectful, nice, kind, helpful, and not lazy. I think if everyone would wake up in the morning and start off being happy it would make the day better. If everyone wouldn’t be lazy and find a job we could eliminate most of the poverty in the United States. I think that if the government wouldn’t help pay that are to lazy to help themselves we could have a better place to live. Also the perfect person should be happy that they are alive, not being depressed and wanting to kill themselves and everyone else.
...te and have very good communication skills. Each and every day I greet and/or compliment a different person with a smile just in case they’ve been having a bad day or haven’t heard anything positive in a while. I just always try to maintain a positive character and a healthy relationship with everyone.
You may or may not have noticed this before, but when one observes the fact that they are happy, the feeling is instantly gone. "Ask yourself whether you are happy, and you cease to be so," (Brink) Mill says. This self questioning of our own happiness often only gives us a sense of despair, and this is because simply asking this question is a type of insecurity. It is a norm in society to be as happy as everyone else, so although the people around us may seek to help us out, they are laying on more pressure. If we were all to ignore the subject of happiness, us as a whole society could become a much happier society.
You could also achieve happiness by spending time with their loved ones and making them smile. Have you ever made someone smile and felt so good by just doing that? Well it is a great feeling seeing the people you love smiling, Or perhaps you were there for a friend that was sad and you cheered them up and afterwards felt so good? Well that is happiness. Happiness is making others happy.
the point where if someone is not happy 100 percent of the time, they are told to seek immediate help. But what is the point of having thousands of other emotionssadness, anger, and fearif a person is only supposed to feel one? Positive psychologists believe that instead of being sad or having neutral feelings, individuals should be happy. From another point of view, Susan David, author of “Don’t Worry Be Gloomy,” and Sharon Begley, author of “Happiness: Enough Already,” both agree that having “negative” emotions is not as defective as people portray them to be. Experiencing other emotions is just as important in life as happiness , and should not be shunned, because these emotions contribute to thinking clearly, encouraging perseverance, and, in the end, making people unintentionally happy.
Let’s take a look at how we interact and form relationships. Happy people like being around other happy people. It’s safe to say it is natural to surround ourselves with the kind of people we want to be. Conversly, it is natural for us to retreat and isolate when our health is failing physically or emotionally. One’s social skills are telling of how healthy they are all around. Ideally a person has a nice balance of social time and personal time. We have a good idea who we are and are comfortable being ourselves in all situations. Get involved in your community and give back. Paying it forward is the best medicine next to laughter. Practice the golden rule and treat others as you want to be treated. Respect goes a long way. Know what you are okay with and set boundaries with people so you can develop healthy relationships. These relationships are built on trust, communication, and solving problems together. Maintain these relationships and keep your social support network close and you will live a happy life. Be sure to surround yourself with people who bring you up and encourage you to grow and be a better
For myself, I believe that true happiness is an illusion. I believe in the desire-driven
My mood determines how I act on a daily basis. Happiness is a simple concept that makes life immensely more beautiful in its presence.
The paradoxical connection between suffering and happiness is one that leaves room for various interpretations of the relationship. To suffer is to experience a feeling contrary to happiness, but one must suffer in order to know what happiness truly is. Suffering allows people to develop certain qualities that will ultimately make them happier. People who have suffered have been subjected to circumstances that are otherwise unfathomable, such as: witnessing the stark contrast between pleasure and pain, and facing circumstances that they cannot simply escape from, both of which allow them to develop qualities that make them happier in the long run.
In addition to anyone being happy, genuine happiness is vulnerable. “If happiness is similarly available to people of any age, sex, or race, and to those of most income levels, who is happiest?” (Myers and Diener 14), the capacity of peoples’ joy is undiminished. Self-esteem, personal control, optimism, and extraversion are four inner traits that classify happy people. People who are happy admire themselves and feel personal control, empowered rather than helpless about their lifestyle. They are also optimistic and tend to be more healthy, successful, and happier than pessimistic people. Also, people that are happy are extraverted and they are happy when they are surrounded by a lot of people and even when they are alone. They are not happy because of their status of wealth.
Kindness is the key to most everything. Being kind means taking the high road, even when someone has wronged you. It means serving other people, even under inconvenient circumstances. It involves looking for the good in others, and even helping them to see the good in themselves. Kindness is spreading happiness to make other’s day better and by making them smile. Kindness is defending those who are picked on by others, sitting by those who are lonely, and saying hi to someone in the hall. Kindness is being someone who wants to build up those around them.
Aesop once stated, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” In this time period, many people around the globe only focus on their life, and they do not focus on lifting others up. Kindness is one word that can change lives, even when the person that shows kindness doesn’t even know the impact they are making. One act of kindness does not appear to be very important, but every act makes an impact. The world is full of hatred, war, and terrorism, but anybody can start to make a change. Some reasons that any act of kindness has an impact include other people needing positivity, the start of a chain reaction, and the benefit of other people in the world.
Research has shown that the smile is constantly rated as the number one thing that makes other people feel emotionally better. It has also found that smiling can be as stimulating as getting up to 16,000 Pounds Sterling (about 23,700 USD). [Source: http://www.forbes.com/sites/ericsavitz/2011/03/22/the-untapped-power-of-smiling/] When you see someone smile, you smile. When you smile, your brain gets the messages of happiness and feel good chemicals are released. So, make smiling an important part of your routine on how to make someone
I believe that happiness is the key to living a good and prosperous life. Through all of the sadness and hate in the world, happiness gives me hope. It gives not only me, but others hope and joy. Happiness gives us something to hold onto, therefore we cherish it as much as we can.
