Sexting! What is sexting? What is the history of sexting? How do you sext? How does it affect the dynamics of a relationship? One-night stand? Friends with benefits? Committed relationship? Marriage? How does gender affect sexting? Why do men sext? Why do women sext? What are the future trends of sexting? I do not know much about sexting; I think that is why I want to research the topic and the affects it has on society? Paragraph 1: Sexting is a combination of two words: messaging and sex. I know that sexting is sending sexually driven text messages, e-mails, and/or pictures to a significant other. Usually people use explicit, bold, and sometimes vulgar rhetoric. As a relationship becomes more serious, committed, and as time goes on; there is less sexual activity, including sexting. It is more acceptable for younger generations to partake in sexting than for older generations. Paragraph 5: Men are usually the initiators of sexual activity and women usually place the limitations on sexual activity. Therefore, men are more comfortable with sexting than women. Men do not worry about their pictures or conversations being shared like women do. This might have to do with the double standard surrounding sex and gender. Men are expected to be more sexual and it is acceptable if he is. Women are expected to be less sexual and it is not acceptable if she is not. Men initiate sexting more frequently than women do.
