Everyone has their own story to tell. That story that no one else is going to understand the pain or happiness you went through. That story that made you the person you are today. Growing up I didn't have the “perfect childhood” like everyone else. At a young age I faced some obstacles that no child should go through. That obstacle made me grow up faster than unexpected. At age five my dad had abandoned my brother, mom, who was expecting, and me. It was the hardest thing that I've had to go through. I had to see how my father rejected us and how he never wanted to talk to me through the phone. At that moment I knew I had to be strong and accept that he wasn’t going to be there for me or my brother. I had to learn what responsibility meant …show more content…
Yet, she still had to cook for us so I would be her helper. Even though I had homework to do, I had to help her prepare the food, set the table, make a agua fresca, a typical homemade mexican drink made out of fresh fruits, heat up the tortía and after dinner help her clean up a bit. This was and still is an everyday routine. Every day after school I would have to pick up my sister from her babysitter’s house. On Fridays when I would get home from school or picking up my sister I would have to gather up all the dirty clothes so I could do the laundry so my mom won't have to do it. There was a point where my mom didn't have enough money to pay the babysitter so she could take my sister to school so I would have to wake up extra early to take her to school and so I could get to school myself. There would be time where I would get to school late cause the bus was full and wouldn't pick me up. Another important thing I learned at a young age was how to manage money since my mom had bills to pay and didn't have enough money to pay other things. I had to find ways where my mom could save money and that's when coupons became a big part when we go shopping for essentials. It's a way where she could save money and have a little extra to spend on herself, my sibling and
Struggling with your household budget since prices keep going up and up? How can you continue to purchase the products your family consumes? An increasing number of families are depending on coupons to extend their budget by, using them to purchase products well below retail price. Couponing does require commitment and dedication to accumulate coupons, organize them, and plan shopping trips.
The average American spends $151 a week on groceries; adding up to $604 a month which is taken out of the hard earned pay check of the household. It is not a mystery why shoppers would want to use coupons to attempt to bring down this cost. Efficient shoppers understand the value of spending the time to meticulously plan each trip to the grocery store to fit in as many coupons as possible. Joanie Demer quit her job in order to spend her time maximizing the benefits from couponing. When couponing, the best way to save is doubling up the coupons to utilize the voucher to its fullest extent; extreme couponers will hoard several copies of a newspaper or magazine in order to stock up on the coupons so they can double up and have enough for the overstock they need to hold over until the next sale on that product. Jamie VanSicker gathered 185 copies of the Sunday paper in order to save big on the deals at her local grocery store, sadly to find out the paper didn’t have any coupons to clip. Religiously sticking to couponing may not be the healthiest choice, there are not many coupons are available for meat or produce, but the saving are worth the products given up. Couponing can create a few problems but overall takes the stress off the women when they know they have saved usually at least $15 off their total bill.

Moving to another country is a huge, scary, life-changing but moving to another country alone is even bigger, scarier, and more life-changing. Trying a new things can be exciting but it can also be scary. Sometimes things may not turn out exactly as you had hoped but I rather move to another country with many failure than just stay in Laos forever. Yes something bad could happen. But something bad could happen when i walk out my front door tomorrow, too.
My childhood was somewhat gloomy due to an alcoholic father; verbal and physical abuse was part of my upbringing. An event that I remember that shaped my life was when I failed the first grade. As a child I could perceive it, and these events helped to reinforce and mold future behaviors. During my teenage years I had much difficulty with love relationships even at times having inferiority complex after a breakup.
People are known to make mistakes on a daily bases. Many believe that the best way to learn something is from a mistake made by that person. In order to learn from the mistake, the individual first must identify that they have made a mistake. This allows the person to understand what needs to be done. Responsibility plays a huge role in learning and not making the same mistakes again such as making poor life decisions at a young age.
Every person's life is filled with personal stories, significant to them. Memoirists are able to take these stories and turn them into a piece of writing which holds an underlying connection all readers can identify with. They take the events of their life, sorrowful or joy filled, and portray it in a way that people they can see themselves in. Writers can craft a memoir where an experience that may seem insignificant to the reader can become a story with meaning that resonates with it’s audience now and for years to come. Memoirs are written to connect people, to write about a timeless, universal truth all people can relate to.
However, my father did leave my mother and me when I was a toddler before I could actually remember him. He would call to talk to me a lot throughout the years to let me know that he loved me and he would also visit me sometimes. However, after he left, my mother found another man and gave birth to my three little sisters. I then became a big sister with responsibilities for more than just myself. Having little sisters taught me how to share and play nicely. That experience prepped me for my school years where I would have to get along with a new set of people.
some families endure. However, there was something I really wanted that my mother had to tell
I watched my son grow up with great pride, he started from the bottom and became a man of his time. He wasn’t flawless and made many mistakes, but he did find ways to accomplish things a man could only dream. I believe, most of his early success came from his resentment towards me. I remember the look of disappointment and anger he would give me every time I drew another white line of chalk on my wall.
As I have grow into an upperclassmen, difficult situations have often arrived. I have met new people, gained stronger relationships with people I have known for years, and I have started to go out more. Well, these things came into play all in one night a few months ago. One day, I went with my friend “Becky” and her group of friends (a name I will use for the sake of telling this story) to a funeral to support her. After we came from the funeral and went out to eat they were all discussing having a sleepover.
People take pictures to remember good moments. Also I took picture to remember leave my family moment. Saying bye for my family was the hardest moment in my live. It will still in my mind and never gone. I’m going to write about old picture and reason for took this picture also memory related for this picture.
My mother was taking care of me, and my three other siblings all alone by herself. When my father was living my mother only had one job, but now she had to work more. She had a massive impact on our lives by making sure we had everything we needed. Because I was the oldest of my siblings, I felt like I was a parent. At just eight years old, I had to skip school just to make sure my siblings had someone to look after them while my mother worked. I was obligated to feed them, give them baths, and put clothes on them. It was very difficult, but I knew my mother had to pay bills, and take care of us and herself, so I knew she couldn’t afford a babysitter. When times got very tough, my mom would get stressed out and take it out on us by throwing tantrums, hollering at us and beating on us. I didn’t have a choice but to encourage my mother, and be the one to push her to not give
I quickly learned at a very young age the value of hard work. Both of my parents had worked hard to achieve their dreams of a nice home, cars, and financial stability. Their working hard not only paid off financially, but they taught my two brothers and I, that working hard was imperative to life. I was given a set of chores and an allowance every week, which taught me responsibility and how to manage money. I also realized that cooperation goes hand in hand with hard work. My brothers and I would help each other with our chores from time to time. I did not know that cooperation works on a larger scale in the workplace, that sometimes one needs help to achieve their ultimate goal.
There is nothing quite like traveling, going someplace new and finding out more about the world and yourself. Anyone can become a traveler it just takes a little bit of faith and courage. Traveling across the world or even across the country is a learning experience. When you are a traveler you see how people live and how different cultures work.
