There are many various perceptions and definitions for loyalty. For example everyone typically considers loyalty as respect for one another, has great communication with each other, and has unconditionally love for each other. In perspective loyalty consists of understanding, compassion, and trustworthy. Now you should ask yourself if you have friends that are loyal to you and what you value in a friend. According to a survey, about 67.72% of the females and 32.3% of the males that answered the survey considering the following for loyalty: in a relationship you need one of the qualities of understanding, loyalty, commitment, honesty, and not a too faced, but

For example these are qualities that a genuine person would have. For instance a friend had a friend that she considered a best friend, because he knew her dislikes and likes. He also knew when that friend was in a bad mood although her face said a whole different story. Freddy was not only her best friend but her confident as well, meaning he knew everything to know about her. He was there not only for the good and bad as well, then and there was when she realized he was a sincere friend. Someone who’s willing to be there for you when it’s not beneficial for them shows their true character and authenticity. According to the survey, 57.7% chose all of the above that shows characteristics of a loyal friend. There are many different characteristics a good friend needs to have. A good friend needs to be a trustworthy and loyal person. He needs to be fair, caring, and loving. A good friend would be someone that can make you smile or laugh; a person that will make you happy when you are sad. However he or she needs to be honest. She or he needs to be a person that is able to tell you the truth even if it isn't pleasant to hear. He needs to be able to tell you something that you might not want to hear. But a good friend
A very obvious example of loyalty is, Penelope. She is faithful to Odysseus for over 20 years and does not give up for long time. Even when the suitors came to her house and ate her food and overstayed their welcome she did not budge and still stayed faithful to Odysseus for the whole time he was gone. She told the suitors that when she finished her tapestry she would choose who she wants to marry, but every night she would undo a piece of the tapestry just so it would take longer and it would give Odysseus more time to come back just so she would not have to choose one of the suitors.
To me, being a good friend is staying by their side, even if they do something you do not like. Also, a good friend would back you up and do whatever they can get others to see you for who you really are, not just for that one bad thing you might have done. Though some may argue that in Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, George was being a good friend to Lennie by making his death as painless as possible, but it is proven that he in fact was not being a good friend to Lennie when George kills him because Lennie is his best friend and being all he has, George is going to now suffer that loss and Lennie did not kill her because he was trying to be mean it was just a bad accident.
Loyalty can be expressed in many ways whether it be by doing anything for someone else or just being very trustworthy person overall.
Loyalty is a hard quality to find in a friend, so once loyalty is found that friend is usually in it for life. Faraway friends are the ones we find ourselves turning to in our darkest hour of need and the ones that we would step into battle with. Marion Winik perfectly explains the importance
Loyalty is one of the only things that can hold the bonds of family and friends.
In the play King Lear, Shakespeare presents the reader with many negative views of society, and of human nature. One of the few bright spots in the play is Kent, a very loyal and honest man. Through Kent and his actions, Shakespeare shows the reader the nature of true loyalty.
What is your definition of a true friend? Well, to me, a true friend is someone who understands you, accepts you for who you are, and is willing to do anything for you. While reading John Steinbeck’s classic, Of Mice and Men, George and Lennie maintain a true friendship despite all the ups and downs they encounter. After Lennie Small, a man as gigantic as a mammoth with a pea-sized brain, is caught touching a girl’s dress in the town of Weed, he and his best friend, an average migrant worker, George Milton, travel a strenuous journey to the town of Soledad and start working on a ranch. The young men come to realize that they have a true, brotherly bond and nothing can separate them.
Attachment Therapy (AT) is a mental health intervention used for maltreated, foster-care children with unhealthy attachment issues. AT practitioners characterize these issues as “attachment disorder.” AT diverges from traditional attachment theory and practice, and was implicated in the deaths of two children (Mercer, 2002).
Loyalty is defined as a strong feeling of support or allegiance. I agree fully with this definition. Being loyal is one of the most important of th...
Loyalty can only come from the heart, not from wanting to be a nice person. A loyal friend should support the friendship no matter what (Loyal- Dictionary Definition, 2016). If loyalty is missing other values in the friendship will suffer (cite). Loyalty between two people it is the key characteristic of what holds the friendship together. A good loyal friend pops up in life when everyone else is walking out of it (Doris Ann, 2011). With a loyal friend someone can laugh, weep, never feel bad about exposing yourself, and most definitely is someone worth praying with (Ann, 2011). Friendship with a best friend is just like a four leaf clover, very difficult to find and very lucky to have in life. Good loyal friends are like stars in the sky, they cannot be seen, but they are always there (Ann, 2011). As Doris Ann quotes, “ I asked God for water, he gave me an ocean. I asked God for a flower, he gave me a garden. I asked God for a tree, he gave me a forest. I asked God for a friend and he gave me you. Be loyal to your friends, and as always you must live well to be well” (Ann, 2011). Ann also quotes, “ If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldn’t dare to follow, I’d be at the bottom to catch them when they fall”. (Ann 2011). A loyal friend should always have genuine love for the
One of the most important details in a friendship is to never leave or forsake the other. A friend is also loyal, for example in the movie Lord of the Rings, Froto and Sam Wise had a wonderful fellowship. They lived in peace and in one accord. Also in the movie, gandalf sent froto on a mission. Froto was scared and he didn’t want to go on the journey by himself.
What is trust? Is trust essential for the way we live our everyday life? Trust is a quality or condition of being trustworthy; loyal; reliable. I think trust is an essential way of life because you cannot make a relationship, friendship, a business, or an organization if there is no foundation. Part of that foundation is trust and loyalty because you should be able to depend, rely, and trust others that they will do exactly what is right for them and you. Trust can be broken so quick, it is scary, because once trust is broken it is a lot harder to gain back then when you first gained trust in someone. This relates to my life because my trust with my dad was alerted going into my freshman year.
A good friend may not have all these traits. If someone is a gossip, you shouldn't get too close with him or her. If they are known for betrayal and being dishonest you should think about it and probably take one step away from them. According to the site “Being Friends,” friends should listen to each other, not put each other down to hurt one another, understand each others feelings, disagree without hurting each other, and be dependable and trustworthy. When finding friends you should look out for the good and the bad. See which traits are most important to you and make sure your friends have more good than bad traits. This will create compatible friends for you who hopefully remain with you for a lifetime!
First I picked loyalty. I picked loyalty for a few reasons. One reason is if you have a friend you want to be able to tell them anything. Another reason is you need to know that if you need something your friend will have your back. I also want to know if I tell my friend something they want go off and tell everybody about it. A loyal friend will always be there to make you smile. These reasons are why I picked loyalty.
Professor Michael Sandel presents that individuals possess certain political and moral obligations, specifically a sense of loyalty and group membership. The moral challenge of this argument, which opposes the principle of individualism, is that the people’s attachment to multiple narratives, their attempt to find a sense of belonging to multiple communities, can potentially lead to confusion and conflict. An example of the solidarity sense of the “self” is when French resistance pilots during the World War refused to bomb their home town as it would be a moral crime to murder their people despite the fact that they supported the cause of liberating France. If we were to admire this soldier’s act of valiance, it is because we recognize the issues of solidarity, membership, and loyalty at stake.
