Friendship
What is true friendship? “It is putting someone else first. It is being strictly honest, loyal, and chaste in every action. Perhaps it is the word commitment that unlocks the real meaning of friendship.” (Dalton). That is the essence of a true friend, someone that is always there for you. Though friendship is not easy, it can fall apart a lot easier. Good friendships can be affected from betrayal, distance, and differences in class.
Betrayal some may say is “the most devastating loss a person can experience” (Frank). Especially when it comes from someone who is special like a friend and someone who trust is embedded within. The novel The Kite Runner written by Khaled Hosseini has numerous examples of friendship issues within it. In The Kite Runner Baba and Ali are friends, but once Baba betrays Ali by sleeping with his wife their friendship suffers greatly and never quite recovers (Hosseini 222). Betrayal is something that cannot easily be recovered from, something that changes two people’s relationship forever. Ano...
People can be betrayed in a variety of ways for different reasons, by anyone in their lives. A close family member or a best friend could betray one. They may go behind one’s back in order for more personal gain, but sometimes they commit betrayal in the interest of one’s benefit. A not so close friend could betray one’s trust by telling a secret or situation that was told or seen in confidence that was broken for a juicy story or just slipped unnoticed. Some people betray their friends or enemies in order to make them look bad; such as spreading a rumor about said person.
A friendship is a bond shared with another person, typically of common interests. A friend is honest, loyal, faithful, and trustworthy. It's someone you can share secrets, memories, fears, and dreams with. They stand by you despite arguments or disputes that might arise. Friendships can bring joy, as well as pain; friends want the best for each other, and sometimes sacrifices must be made. In Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck speaks of the advantages and pitfalls to a friendship.
According to dictionary.com betrayal means "an act of deliberate disloyalty,”. Betrayal is something that is very prevalent throughout the novel The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini which is a story about the betrayal that a young boy named Amir does to his friend Hassan. Amir shows that he is a betrayer to Hassan when he belittles, plots, refuses to acknowledge their friendship, and walks away from Hassan. With each betrayal listed they progressively get worse and worse as Amir continues to show how little he really cares for Hassan.
Betrayal can cause a person problems such as separation of families and friends, unexpected deaths, or lost of trust. On a daily basis people are betrayed, hurt and lied from people they have developed a close bond with. They lie and hurt the people that they will need when everything gets tough.
Generally speaking Aristotle first describes friendship with the Greek word philia which is a broader definition than just friendship. Philia includes all kind of friendship that can exist, families, the political community, neighbours and children.

Some may say that a true friend is loyal, honest, and cares for you, someone who would die for you. Some may agree with Aristotle's view of friendship. He classifies friendship into three categories: friendship for utility, pleasure, or virtue. Aristotle says a virtuous friendship is when you wish good things for the other person.
Subsequently, the effects of betrayal are often catastrophic, and lead to unhealthy life choices; betrayal will often cause a person to lose the ability to make new friends, but even more impactful is that it causes people to lose the friends they already have out of fear. This paranoia wrought in the fires of betrayal weakens an already fleeting person’s emotional support system, which gives way to more damaging activities. This ever increasing void could be filled with substance abuse or alcoholism, adding more fuel to an increasingly chaotic downward spiral. The emotional and psychological impacts of betrayal prove to massively outweigh any issues that may stem from an adversary's
What is your definition of a true friend? Well, to me, a true friend is someone who understands you, accepts you for who you are, and is willing to do anything for you. While reading John Steinbeck’s classic, Of Mice and Men, George and Lennie maintain a true friendship despite all the ups and downs they encounter. After Lennie Small, a man as gigantic as a mammoth with a pea-sized brain, is caught touching a girl’s dress in the town of Weed, he and his best friend, an average migrant worker, George Milton, travel a strenuous journey to the town of Soledad and start working on a ranch. The young men come to realize that they have a true, brotherly bond and nothing can separate them.
She doesn’t know this, but she changed my life. She was there for me when it seemed like no one else was. When most of my friends were dissolving around me and I just didn’t feel like I could do anything right, she was there, and she made everything seem okay. It didn’t matter that I was inevitably going to graduate with a GPA a tenth of a point lower than I wanted, or that my director told me that he was disappointed in me because I just didn’t seem focused lately, or that my other friends just weren’t talking to me anymore. It didn’t matter because she was there and she made me feel safe. She’s my best friend, and I love her and admire her for so many different reasons.
According to Cambridge Dictionary friendship is the state of being friends (Also, it defines “friend” as “a person who you know well and who you like a lot but who is usually not a member of your family”). My definition is different from this. In my opinion, friendship means trusting and being honest, respect, sacrificing, sharing and caring Friendship means trusting (believing) someone and being honest (incorruptible). You meet with a person and your friendship begins with truths.
Friendship is the most wonderful relationship that anyone can have. Ideally a friend is a person who offers love and respect and will never leave or betray us. Friends can tell harsh truths when they must be told. There are four different types of friends: True friends, Convenient friends, Special interest friends, and historical friends. To have friendship is to have comfort. In times of crisis and depression, a friend is there to calm us and to help lift up our spirits.
What do you think the meaning of friendship is? Is it being loyal? Is it having someone to talk to? Or is it being nice to someone? I think frieendship mean when you connect with someone. Being loyal funny, trustworthy, genorous and being someone people can talk to are all good characteristics of being a good friend. Me personally have been in friendships with an without those characteristics. Some "friendships" are based on what people have like money and popularity. In those types of friendships you don't connect with each other it is always about them giving you what they have that you want. At the start of highschool I didnt know many people and I didnt have friends. When I started to cheerleading I met my now best friend. At the start
Friendship is a relationship that all the individuals can create by themselves. Though it is not a god gifted relationship like that of the relationship of a mother, father, sister, brother or any of the other family but still it is one of the best relations an individual can possess. People who have true friends consider themselves as the luckiest individuals on earth.
A friend is someone difficult to find. A friend is someone you can always count on when times are tough. The dictionary's definition of a good friend is a person attached to another by feelings of affection or personal regard. A good friend is there when you are struggling. For example, when a boy breaks your heart a good friend walks you through it and offers a shoulder to cry on. According to Bree Neff, a good friend is someone who is trustworthy, doesn't talk behind your back, listens to your problems, gives good advice and tries to lend humor along with his or her support. There are also bad friends, those who pretend to care and then turn around gossiping and starting drama. Good and bad friends are all around you, involved in your everyday life. To find good friends you should look for such traits as being kind, trustworthy, loyal and dependable.
