Bullying Today Have you ever been bullied, or felt the substantial effects bullying has on its victims? Bullying is not only a problem for children and teenagers, but it affects people of all ages. Bullying is a major social dilemma in society today. Many people believe that bullying is simply part of growing up, and that it is a phase that some individuals go through. I personally believe that there should be zero tolerance for bullying. Despite all of the anti-bullying research, programs, and campaigns, bullying still exists and is not being addressed to the extent necessary to stop and prevent it. Bullying among American elementary, middle and high school students is a growing problem. Bullying can be defined as the use of aggression, force, abuse, and intimidation to impose power or status over another person. More children are becoming victims of this often tragic problem today than ever before. In fact, one in seven students in grades K-12 is either a bully or a victim of bullying (MBNBD). It is estimated that 160,000 children miss school every day due to fear of an attack or intimidation by other students (MBNBD). Bullying can be the result of prejudice based on race, class, gender, sexuality, religion, and appearance. Bullying is a problem because it affects a person’s self esteem and emotional health. Bullying can cause children or teens to feel tense, afraid, and can also affect an adolescent’s confidence. Bullying can be a repetitive and habit forming behavior. The oppression from bullying can take place in many forms. For instance, direct bullying includes physical behaviors such as hitting, shoving, restraining, slapping, kicking, and other acts of violence. Verbal bullying is another form. Some ... ... middle of paper ... ...heir child in a more positive manner. It is natural and normal that a child will experience sad or negative experiences throughout their childhood. Yes, I agree children need to learn how to cope with life, in order to become stable adults. But the cruelty and violence in today’s bullying is not healthy, normal, nor necessary for children to learn lifelong lessons. Especially when in very extreme cases it is the cause of murder and or suicide amongst children and teens. One could say that bullying is not a problem, or that it’s just a phase children and teenagers go through while in school. One might even say they have never had a bullying problem, or they might say that bullying does not happen at my workplace. Bullying has been happening in society for a very long time. Totally eliminating it could prove to be extremely difficult, but nonetheless, possible.
Bullying is a serious issue in todays world. Research shows that bullying leads to failure in school, physical anguish, poor social/emotional development, and perhaps even death. Not only can bullying affect young in school, but also adults at the workplace. Without the courage of the witnesses to these acts, nothing can be done about bullying. Bullying cannot be ignored, and if it is, it will only lead to bigger problems and will cause more deaths. Without the proper communication and programs we provide, bullying will continue to threaten kids and adults around the World. Help us stop Bullying today.
Bullying, a loathsome and unsavory act, is widely seen in all aspects of life, but more particularly in school settings. It features an aggressor intimidating or tormenting a weaker person in one way or another. This act usually ends badly for the victim and leaves him or her in a vulnerable and pitiful state. Thirty percent of U.S. students in grades six through ten are involved in moderate or frequent bullying; as bullies, as victims, or as both (National Survey). Bullying is increasingly viewed as an important contributor to youth violence, including homicide and suicide.

Bullying.. it has been around for who knows how long and it is becoming a big problem in the past couple of years. Professor Louise Arseneault, senior author, also from the Institute of Psychiatry at King's adds: "We need to move away from any perception that bullying is just an inevitable part of growing-up. Teachers, parents and policy-makers should be aware that what happens in the school playground can have long-term repercussions for children. Programmes to stop bullying are extremely important, but we also need to focus our efforts on early intervention to prevent potential problems persisting into adolescence and adulthood." I agree with this this statement 100% we need to stop looking at how this is all can be a learning process and they have to get through this. Bullying is becoming a world problem and needs to be put to a stop.

Bullying comes in many forms, from teasing to harassment to physical aspects. When people talk about bullying, it seems to get swept under the rug, like it’s not a big deal. However, bullying is an epidemic. I believe the number one reason a child, or adult, is bullied has to do with being different. I think bullying is starting entirely too young in children, these days. I feel there is a difference between harmless teasing and bullying, but harmless teasing can turn into bullying in the blink of an eye.
Bullying has become such an important factor in todays world because of how much its been happening. Bullying can cause so much stress and can leave anyone feeling hurt, angry, frightened, alone, and even depressed.
Bullying has become an issue more and more every year. Kids are talking their own lives because they are being bullying and no one is standing up to the bully. Most kids that are bullies were probably abused as a child or grew up in a bad home. I think kids should start standing up to bullies and speak out. There are many types of bullying such as cyber bullying, being prejudice, popularity, and society. Bullying is when a person is picked on over and over again by an individual or group with more power, either in terms of physical strength or social standing.
Victims of bullying will eventually show the effects of bullying by being passive or secluding themselves from other individuals. The background or culture of a victim will most likely determine how they progress or react in a bullying experience. A victim may retaliate to the bully's attacks depending on the level of aggressiveness used. Parenting affects the decisions made by both victims and bullies in the peer interactions. Intervention approaches to this social vice will include changing the victims’ opinions about themselves through encouragement and teaching them how to effectively respond to attackers...

Bullying is a serious issue in America, especially among children and young adults. From kindergarten all the way up until my sophomore year of high school, I was a victim of bullying. Bullying has been in the forefront of many discussions and has been the topic in child settings recently. When children enter school, they need to build healthy peer relationships. However, school is usually the main setting where bullying takes place (Nelson, Kendall & Shields, 2013). Bullying affects a large number of children and can have long-term affects on psychosocial, physical and social-emotional aspects of the child (Vanderbilt, & Augustyn, 2010). Bullying can be cause by a group or by one individual who is stronger in power than their victim (Smith, 2013). Bullies have difficulties in their social and emotional skills.
