Essay About Being Powerless

One powerless person who opposes controversial people, laws, events happening around the world; or the government; and conveys their message towards it negatively is what makes one cruel. Being powerless comes from having no control or say over the actions of those who do have power/society. A powerless person who decides to fight against the powerful or powerless, might cause a negative impact in which they create a more complicated problem than before. The negative effect is something that impacts others in a way that the powerless person wouldn’t want to happen to them. It can be seen in a variety of , for example a protester can be seen as cruel to those who they are protesting against and not to those on their side.

Adding more fire to

a problem negatively is what not to do, especially when people are in great danger. Specifically, it puts things/or people in jeopardy which could have been avoided in the first place. In those circumstances, powerless, good people are considered cruel because instead of finding a solution for the greater problem, you are disrupting it by causing even more chaos. This is exactly what happened in The Dawn of Justice. Lex Luthor and Batman’s arguable opinion of Superman was that he was a threat to the world because he has so much power. At first they felt really powerless against this god like creature. That motivated them to do something about it. So both of them had the same intentions- to kill Superman and to protect the world against ``exceptional beings`` Except Lex used another God like creature, a monster called Doomsday which goes against his cause of protecting the people when he just created another exception being. Batman used Superman’s only weakness, Kryptonite. They both didn’t consider or care about the harmful after effects to the people and the people's’ perspective of Superman. While Superman was helping others and finding solutions for problems, they were creating more problems by killing Superman, making them cruel. When doing that, they were being selfish and cruel. All the negative effects that happened are at the expense of others when they didn’t do anything in the first place.

The effect of adding more fire to a problem leads to several other chain reactions for more conflict. That chain reaction is just like a virus. In a bullying conflict it can be prevented, but sometimes it will spread when taking wrong precautions. Cases of bullying often lead to more instead of less, much like a virus. The victims choose whether to tell the teacher (to take the medicine) or be a bully themselves (spreading the virus to others). Most bullies were once powerless victims, living in fear. When they were bullied, they felt sadness, anger, and rage inside of them. Instead of getting help to solve this problem, they created more problems by being a bully themselves: bullying others, directing their negativity to them.Their feeling of being hurt and powerlessness against the bully lead to making another negative impact which makes them cruel. For example, when the criminals murdered Batman's parents, he felt powerless and anger as if he was the victim and the criminals were the bullies. His loss of his parents and his feelings drove him to get back on the criminals of Gotham in general as a hero to cope with the deaths. He used fear and violence to fight against the villains like a bully. Perhaps he could've tried to put hope into them and convince them that it isn’t worth it to hurt others for whatever reason they were fighting for. It causes more crimes out of revenge and another cycle of bullies and victims. If they hadn’t chose the immoral way of dealing with their problem a bigger problem wouldn't had existed. This is what cruelty is in my eyes- the act of ignoring the initial problem and creating a more complicated or numerous others.

In the movie Enclave, Baskhim felt powerless because of his father’s death at the hands of Serbs. The feelings of anger and sorrow motivated him to steal the gun. The point where he turned cruel is when he used the gun to threaten others if they didn’t do what he asked them to do, giving him security and power. He was making more problems by threatening/scaring others instead of helping focus on the greater problem which was the conflict between the ethnic groups/ nationalities. Just by becoming friends with other children his age of other ethnic groups/ nationalities could inspire others to do so as well, resolving the problem ending the chain reaction.

Powerless people often challenge other powerless people or powerful people Those people don’t agree with the powerful, so they try to spreading their message/point of view of the problem in a negative way, which makes them cruel.

Since they are powerless at first, it is hard to get their message out. Instead of starting out with the hard way of spreading the word peacefully with a campaign of some sort, they put fear on innocent powerless or the powerful. That fear just creates more problems, more things we have to find a solution to. For example, there are many people who are powerless against the majority of Americans who support Donald Trump. They want to get their message of not to support Trump to be heard, not just to those who agree with that statement, but to the Trump supporters too. So one person of an anti-trump group went to a Trump rally and shot a Trump supporter. By shooting them, they spread their message of how much they disagree against Donald Trump and that they are willing to go to the extreme measures in which they would kill an innocent supporter because of their belief. The person who shot them now has their message across by fear but now that has created another problem, not just the problem of Trump being a big threat to America, but now the fear of killers being out there because of their opinion of Trump. That one case of shooting may have inspired others to do so to get their thoughts across as

well.

When you choose the immoral way of dealing with your problem, you’ll be creating a more complicated problem, which will inevitably affect others in a negative way. That leads to more powerless people who will eventually do the same. Sometimes, you will be powerless to what life faces you, and things won’t work out in your way. You aren’t alone, there are many others suffering too. Knowing that you aren’t alone, you can reverse that negativity into a positive by helping others dealing with it to solve that problem, one step at a time, or stop being the problem yourself. Cruelty is NEVER the answer.
