According to the Childhelp, the largest organization dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect in US, the report of child abuse is made every ten seconds. Although, the organizations such as Childhelp, ISPCAN, and Prevent Child Abuse America have put efforts on reducing child abuse rate and providing treatment for victims, the rate of child abuse is getting higher. The victims are abused physically, sexually, emotionally, and even by being neglected by their parents. If the society leave the rate of child abuse get higher, the rate of crime, social violence, and children mental disorder would increase as well. However, if social and individual efforts be put based on support from the government, it is not impossible to decrease or even prevent those four kinds of child abuse. …show more content…

However, The Department of Health and Human Services in US reported child maltreatment rate increased from 678,932 in 2013 to 702,000 in 2014. In other words, there are 9 to 10 victims per 1000 children (Peter J., 2016), and it is even getting higher and higher. That means, the solutions of the organizations may not be productive. In fact, current solutions for child abuse tend to mostly focus on the treatment for victims, and counselling, punishing, and educating perpetrators. Of course, those solutions may help the prevention of repeated crime and healing of victims. However, it cannot eliminate the actual root of the cruel crime, as it does not care about preventing further criminals and victims. The biggest problem of child crime is that 59 percent of perpetrator are acquaintances, 34 percent are family members, and only 7 percent are strangers; most of the victim children have nowhere to tell.
