Ernesto Estrada is a Cuban mathematical scientist whose main study is the sub-structural molecular design for complex networks. He is presently a full professor and Chair in Complexity Sciences, at the Institute of Complexity Sciences, which is in Glasgow, United Kingdom. He is also the chair in the Department of Physics, and the Department of Mathematics. He also chairs two departments at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom (Curriculum Vitae). Ernesto was born in the central region of Cuba, in the city of Sancti Spiritus in 1966. When he was 11 years old, he began to study in a school whose main focus was the study of exact sciences. This was a sign of having a keen interest in science and mathematics, …show more content…
His most famous theory is the Topological Sub-Structural Molecular Design (TOPS-MODE). TOPS-MODE is currently approaching for modeling the antiproliferative activity against muring leukemia tumor cell line. This helped to contribute to the study of complex networks. A complex network is a type of graph with non-trivial topological features. These features are much more advanced than those in random graphs; these features often occur in real life modeling. Estrada created an index to help characterize the degree of these folding proteins. He also suggested theories to explore the structure and dynamics of these complex networks. Overall, Ernesto Estrada is a great Cuban scientist who has won many international awards and honors from very esteemed academies, universities, and organizations. He is extremely intelligent, especially with his theories to advance our knowledge of Topographical Sub-Structural Molecular Design. He also earned many degrees, including a M.Sc. and a PhD in chemistry. He also authored many major scientific papers, the first one was when he was only 18 years old. He is currently working as the full professor and chair in Complexity Sciences, Department of Mathematics, and Department of Physics, at the university of Strathclyde, Glasgow, U.K. All in all, Estrada has
Guillermo González Camarena was a Mexican electrical engineer who was the inventor of a color-wheel type of color television, and who also introduced color television to Mexico,
“We are never more truly and profoundly human than when we dance.” Jose Arcadio Limon was a dancer and choreographer born and raised in Mexico. He was inspired to begin his studies in modern dance when he saw a performance of Harald Krutzberg and Yvone Georgi. Limon enrolled at the dance school of Doris Humphrey and Charles Weidman. He continued to work with Humphrey until 1946, when he founded the José Limón Dance Company. His most successful work is called The Moor's Pavane and it is based on Shakespeare's Othello. The Limón Dance Company still exists and is part of the Jose Limon Dance Foundation, an institution dedicated to preserve and disseminate his artistic dance work and technique. Jose Limon is important in the American Dance History
Many countries have the pleasure of celebrating Independence Days. These historic holidays are filled with nationalistic celebrations and delicious traditional food. In Chile, the natives celebrate their break from Spain with Fiestas Patrias. In Mexico, the president begins the celebration by ringing a bell and reciting the “Grito de Dolores” and he ends his speech by saying “Viva Mexico” three times.
Marcario Garcia was not born in Texas; rather his parents carried him across the border from Mexico to Texas as an infant. The family settled in Sugar Land, Texas, where they worked as lowpaid farm workers and raised ten children. The land was originally owned by the Mexican government and was part of the land grant to Stephen F. Austin. Very early, sugarcane stalks from Cuba were brought to the area and a
SAN MIGULE ARCANGEL The San Miguel Arcangel is unique among the twenty one Spanish missions of California. San Miguel Arcangel was the sixteen of twenty one missions and there by shorten the long distance between the San Antoino and San Luis Obispo missions. In 1806, many of the mission building and all of the supplies destroyed by fire. Mission San Miguel Arcangel is named after Saint Michael the Archargel.
Francisco De Montejo was a Spanish conquistador in the time period of the conquest of the Aztec Empire with Hernan Cortes. Francisco was born in Salamanca, Spain in 1479. In 1514 Francisco moved to the Island of Cuba, while in Cuba he helped established Havana the Modern capital of Cuba today.
The story of Inês de Castro may not compare to that of the Petrichor potion or the Cure for Dragon Pox at a glance, but is none the less important in illustrating how potions can affect a large population in a short period of time.
Juan Seguin was born on October 27, 1806 to Erasmo Seguin and Maria Josefa Becerra Seguin, in what is now known as San Antonio, Texas. He was the eldest of three son, and even though they did not have formal schooling their father encouraged them to read and write. Seguin started public service at a very young age by working with his mother at his father’s post office. Juan’s father was the Head Postmaster of San Antonio. The postmaster was the person responsible for running the local post office, that person being Erasmo Seguin. When Juan was 19, he married Maria Gertrudis Flores de Abrego. They had ten children, four sons and six daughters. In 1837 Seguín became the first Tejano to serve in the Republic of Texas Senate, a position he held
Racism has resided within the Dominican Republic for centuries after the defeat of the Haitian Empire. Yet, the profuse racism came from the Presidency of Rafael Trujillo. Rafael Trujillo yearned to withhold the prevalence of white skin-tone in Dominican individuals. Trujillo initiated an anti-Haitian regime as he was determined to whiten his country. To present himself as a white Dominican, Trujillo wore makeup to lighten his appearance, to uphold his standards. Yet, the horrific, defining moment of his presidency was the Parsley Massacre. Trujillo started the massacre in 1937, as he sought to deceive his people by claiming the Haitians were practicing witchety, while claiming they kept a Dominican opponent in hiding. Dominican troops slaughtered
Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz was born on the 12th of November, 1651 as Juana Ramírez de Asbaje. She was born in San Miguel Napantla, Viceroyalty of New Spain (present day Mexico) to a Spanish man Pedro Manuel de Asbaje and a Creole woman Isabel Ramírez. Her parents were never married, hence she was born out of wedlock and deemed a daughter of the church. After begging her mother to let her cross-dress in order to go to college, Sor Juana’s mother finally sent her to Mexico City to live with family and there her dreams to study actually came true.
What is culture? Many people ask themselves this question every day. The more you think about it the more confusing it is. Sometimes you start leaning to a culture and then people tell you you’re wrong or they make you feel like a different person because of your culture. I go through this almost every day. Because of the way I was raised I love Mexican rodeo but I was born and raised in Joliet. This can be very difficult trying to understand culture. I live in this huge mix of culture. Culture is personal. People can have many cultures especially in America and because of globalization. Cultural identity is not one or the other, it is not Mexican or American. Cultural identity is an individual relevant thing.
Throughout his early school career, his parents would often push him to better his education. He would often receive books and encylopedias from his parents so that he could further expand his knowledge. During his final high school year his parents arranged for him to take advanced mathematics courses at a community college that was local to them.
Hector Fernandez is a restaurateur running a successful Mexican restaurant in Taos, New Mexico. For his restaurant, Hector created an own salsa, which is different than the salsa available on the market (and superior in the eyes of his customers). He got encouraged to start selling his salsa regionally in the state. Thus he contacted a marketing agency to assist him with setting up a new brand to promote the salsa.
There are four main levels of a protein, which make up its native conformation. The first level, primary structure, is just the basic order of all the amino acids. The amino acids are held together by strong peptide bonds. The next level of protein organization is the secondary structure. This is where the primary structure is repeated folded so that it takes up less space. There are two types of folding, the first of which is beta-pleated sheets, where the primary structure would resemble continuous spikes forming a horizontal strip. The seco...
After defining the general concept of combinatorics, we can now delve into the distinct subfield of graph theory. Graph theory is defined as the study of graphs, defined as mathematical structures used to portray relationships between mathematical objects. More specifically, graph theory involves ways that finite sets of points, called vertices or nodes, can be connected by lines or arcs, also referred to as edges. The graphs examined through graph theory are not to be confused with the more popularly known graphs, which are functions or relations plotted on the coordinate plane. Graphs can be characterized by multiple properties, the most common of these being complexity. The complexity of a graph depends on various factors such as the number of edges allowed between two vertices, whether or not each edge has an assigned direction to it, and several other elements. This is the most general sense of what graph t...
